what i love about your videos is you're not only teaching specific ways to play well, but also thoroughly explaining how these things help. even in a video that's just about one character i feel like i'm learning how to use and make builds for other characters much better by proxy and it's amazing
Can’t wait to hear why you changed what you did with the new build. Seeing items like headshot booster or vampiric burst get demoted or cut when they were very important at their stage of the game is fascinating.
This is probably the best guide for any character in DL I've seen so far as an intro player. Great stuff, perfect amount of detail, and incredibly informative. It's unfortunate in a sense that the game is changing so quickly as it's hard to implement these kits fully as a noob before valve changes the meta but it's great to see this level of quality content coming out to help us understand the characters.
dude this was PERFECT TIMING, I was literally watching your old abrams guide yesterday (and winning games with him thanks to you) and now an updated guide lol, thanks man
Marco, I cannot express how much this video has absolutely transformed my Abram’s gameplay. The build flows SO well, and the garunteed punch clear ups off pin has gotten me so many more kills with so much less frustration. The transition to the tank playstyle in endgame is genius. Abram’s has been SO FUN all because of this guide and I have been absolutely dominating. I watched you since the division phase and I’m happy to see you’re back in it with deadlock.
Really appreciate this updated guide. The game is rapidly changing and a lot of what worked for me before isn't now, and I didn't realize the reasons why until this video.
Ty for the content as always. Following this guide really helps getting the intricacy of build crafting and the overall reflection on how and when to play your strenghts. Hope the Deadlock content keeps you happy, that's the most important and it show in this guide.
3:24 ok I was ALSO so confused as to how people were getting out of my stun faster than I can heavy melee. The fact that valve nerfed it within days of the video is diabolical tbh
Your guides are so good. I watched from start to finish. I've been playing a lot of the blue man, and I've noticed a lot of the things you mentioned. Even after playkng ~50hours of Just this hero you taught me a lot.
I refused to use your last build, just because Melee Charge felt so significant to me and I couldn't play Abrams without it. This build on the other hand has everything I could ever want on Abrams, I think you very much succeeded at making THE Abrams build
Always happy to see a new Marco Abrams Build! Super happy to see melee charge and extra stamina in the main build now, I personally always run superior stamina with my Abrams builds which helps me to be super aggressive and run away when I'm close to death, so I highly reccomend building that with Abrams. Gonna play around with this build more later today and modify it for my own Abrams playstyle. Great job Marco!
I've tried superior stamina, but I feel it is too expensive. the extra regen you get from extra stamina is very much it for 500, but to double that for just 3000 isn't it.
@@MarcoStylefor me, the main use out of superior stamina is the extra dash distance you get out of it, on top of all the extra stamina bars and recovery. It makes it extremely hard for enemies to get away, even when your active items and abilities are on cooldown, and it's also just a great tool for disengaging.
Two diagonal air dashes make you zoom really fast, I prefer building superior stam over enduring speed since I can actually pair it with the HMC for escaping
bro i still used your old build. I had massive success with it and it was so well thought-through :). i just always bought monster rounds. thanks for an updated guide!
I watched your first Abram’s guide last night and was searching for the build guide. I was very surprised to see two guides available haha! I assumed there was a new video and here it is! Love everything about your guides! The effort, details and thoroughness of this guide is top tier! Thanks for making this, it has really gotten me excited to play and having a ton of fun playing Abrams!
I've been waiting for this build! Everything I would have hoped for, good shit. I wish more guides were like this. Most other ones are just like "Here's the build and now here's one game with little to no commentary of pubstomping"
Wow I was excited to see this vid pop up on my feed, I’ve been maining Abram’s since I started playing a couple weeks ago and my build ended up being very spirit focused, I tend to get the T3 upgrade on my 1 now before my 2 as it not only upgrades my damage output, but increases my survivability with spirit lifesteal
Hey, great video, great build. I have about 400 Abrams games myself and I learned a couple things from this. Only thing I think your build needs is cold front. It's just busted right now. I buy it in front of KD and sometimes in place of
Hey Marco, thanks to your guide im side-maining Abrams right now, currently having a winrate of ~70% within 25 matches. Ive noticed some things while playing with Abrams. When you buy tier 2 boots, you are 0,1m/s off the magic 10m/s mark for sliding. Personally Im a fan of Fortitude because it heals you after you escaped a fight and enables you to be more present on the map. also with above 70% hp you get a movement speed boost - I like Frenzy too, buffing you when you drop below 50% hp with resistence - unstoppable can also cancel your heavy melee charge - currently Crippling Headshot is the most powerful shred items of the few that actually exist. I havent tested it yet but its lile headshot booster, but advanced for late game when everybody is tanky - I would still buy headshot booster as one of my first three items because its great for pinning down your opponent, hindering him from punishing you if you did a mistake (tanking too much damage from the tower as an example) Thanks for your updated guide! I acutally didnt know that you can start you heavy melee while charging.
Another thing Fleetfoot allows you to do is chase people down. The slow from point blank and the removal of the movement speed penalty while shooting with Fleetfoot means people have to fight you or spend their stamina and mobility spells to get away.
I just hit around rank 50 abrams (according to Deadlock Tracker) for NA using a two month old build and it seems that a lot of the things I wanted to start itemizing are things you touch on in this video. Good guide! Thanks for giving me more considerations for my climb.
Fun fact: You can also heavy melee cancel with the item Colossus. Sidenote: Phantom Strike on Abrams is slept on. It has a 3-second disarm, which offers great utility against dps weapon builds. It can be a more aggressive alternative to Improved Bullet Armor since it has bullet resist on it.
Try melee mirage! No escape from the abrams playstyle Also I love the abrams build, very good advice. A little tech you can do with melee cancelling is to buy majestic leap (though they nerfed its cooldown pretty hard) and heavy melee, then interrupt it in the middle before the swing kills your velocity. You'll go flying.
Yay super happy to see looking at when ability power spikes occur and what items you can get to play around those, rather than just generic "this item is good on this champion get it" but if you force it at the wrong time you may skip the strongest part of the game for your character even if you could afford it (ex: is it better to have 5 tier 2 items (6250 souls) or 1 tier 4 item (6200 souls) or 2 tier 3 items (6000)). For instance is ricochet amazing on Infernus? Yes, is it worth rushing over several other cheaper items like toxic bullets + 2 or 3 1250 vitality defensive or counter items? Absolutely not. Also super happy to see conversations around more than just the most obvious power spikes (3k you get abilities). I also appreciate bringing up that Abrams is weak for the first 1500 souls, pressure is great, but recognizing you will be out pressured by most characters and NEED to be a little more passive despite what you REALLY want to do, I think is a valuable lesson a lot of players could learn. In particular when people are not going to be super familiar when the strengths and weakness of everyone opponent they will face off the top of their head.
24:10 Your inflection here is what I'm interpreting as negative. Assuming I understand damage calcs right I'd say resistance reduction is _almost_ always better than a multiplicative modifier and I'm sure you agree. Just saying people won't understand that out of the video and undervalue it. Looking at the situational utility it also gives damage where you need it the most, tanky targets. If you're getting to melee Vindicta/Talon they will die very soon. If you're meleeing M&K that's probably where your resistance reduction is at its most valuable in time savings in a fight. If you're stacking tons of negative resistances on a target with no resistance they're screwed the moment you apply damage anyway.
Hey, could you add Superior Stamina as an optional/situation upgrade to extra stamina? It's the same logic with you adding superior duration in the build, it's a very useful component to be getting if you're choked on flex slots but have souls to spare.
Would you consider adding annotations to the ingame build on the items? its nice to know the info in game without needing to turn off my music. Thank you for your knowledge
I've been play Abrams exclusively since I saw your last build. He feels very powerful still, and I think part of it is because people are underestimating him after the nerfs. Since the most recent patch, I have snowballed harder than ever. Unfortunately, I still have Pockets who feed and Lashes who run...
Sometimes if you charge right after Bebop uppercuts you, you get to drag him along with you and slam him into something. Don't know if it's a bug, but its helped me lane against Bebop a lot.
With the whole section about debuff reducer and durecation extender, does superior duration make the combos true? And if so, only for the imbued ability or for both the 4 and 2?
Would you ever consider selling monster rounds in late game for frenzy to help with teamfighting since it gives 200 more health and 45% bullet resist? What about using return fire in exchange for slowing hex if you're trying to tank through the late game?
I always end up selling monster rounds in the mid game. After a while you are tanky enough and have damage enough to deal with whatever npc's you come across.
Ive been running a VERY similar build for a while and found that depending on the enemy team, leech is going to be so much more powerful than collosus. Unless you want to jam majestic leap, youre going to have trouble engaging melee with heroes like talon, wraith, vindicta if she can get away, or poke pockets. Unless theres a haze (or just a full bullet damage team) im going with leech and building sustain over the resist from collosus. Not good to rely so much on melee damage from colossus 100% of the time
If you slam down with your ult, can you also melee charge during this time? At least in your mid boss scenes it looks like you get your heavy melee done real fast
Question, if you are trying to deal with less damage in late game, why don't you buy torment pulse ? Shouldn't it boost your damage more than berserker, even if it is much more expensive ?
I laned against an Abrams as a Kelvin last night and it was horrible. It seems like there is a delay before a parry actually counts so I would constantly go to parry when I was about to be hit but because he was so close the timing was so short and would still get hit.

I play Abrams a lot and tend to get bullied in the early game. I switched up to Mo & Krill, got put against an Abrams to start with and got to be the bully for a change. It was pretty fun.
@@jacewhite8540 I still consider myself an Abrams main, I just wanted to branch out and practice a bit. Besides, learning how to play as another hero, helps you learn their weaknesses too.
also, connecting the charge melee at the start and then buying duration extender usually puts enough fear in people that they won't attempt the parry even after buying debuff reducer
Bro, the variability in this game is insane! I really want to play it, but pc are so old :( Maybe you know cloud gaming platforms where game is available ?
I think you might be confused when you say that the flat damage bonus from shoulder charge falls of late game. Your bullet damage at max level is about 8.5 or so, and shoulder charge adds 5.5, taking you to about 14. Does this not make it like a +60% multiplicative boost? Doesn't it apply before your other gun damage buffs? I don't see why it wouldn't. So with +200% gun damage buffs, you go from 8.5 damage per pellet to 25.5. With shoulder charge you go from 14 per pellet to 42. This is all assuming the damage increase applies before other gun damage buffs. But I really don't see why it wouldn't, that's such a weird way for it to work if not. Edit: Ok, I checked and it is truly flat. Only adds 45 damage to each shot burst regardless of normal gun damage buffs. Does scale with resist shred but that's meh.
I find leveling the 1 after the two is better than the 3. The +40dmg/heal and duration on the 1 is still very nice at that point of the game. Because same the 2 its a flat upgrade which means its best enjoyed early and mid game. Whereas the 3 is percentage based and like armor is enjoyed later when you have more hp.

I find leveling the 1 after the two is better than the 3. The +40dmg/heal and duration on the 1 is still very nice at that point of the game. Because same the 2 its a flat upgrade which means its best enjoyed early and mid game. Whereas the 3 is percentage based and like armor is enjoyed later when you have more hp.
ok guys final abrahms guide, buy any items and press Q (held), good luck out there.
