Hi. Usually just delays. Discovery can be one reason for delay. I’ve done some videos on the lawsuit process but maybe I can do one about all the ways defense and the courts delay

Hi , during my damaged deposition, the defendant lawyer asked me to tell him how much I settled my past injury but my lawyer objected, the defendant lawyer seemed angry did he has right to ask that question that has nothing to do with this new case injury thanks
In a deposition the objections are often reserved for trial so it’s more open. The standard is whether it is likely to lead to admissible evidence. Based on that I would say your lawyer was correct in objecting bc a past settlement would not have much probative value in this case & it could prove prejudicial.

Also, if a case is disposed but the lawyer says they are waiting for a trial date. Does this mean that the case has been dismissed and the lawyers are trying to appeal it??
I have to work on my drum roll skills. That was to give viewers time to guess what the verdict was. I wasn’t just banging on the table randomly lol. If a case is disposed then yes the appeal is trying to overturn the dismissal
