- Steve Fryette presents a deep background demonstration of the
Synergy/Fryette Pittbull Ultra-Lead module feature set.
We're running on the Syn 2 platform into a Power Station PS-2 power amp,
then into a Fatbottom 412 cab with Fane/Fryette F70G speakers.
This video was recorded on an iPhone with no post production.
Love mine!!! I’ve been chasing after Page Hamilton’s tone for 20 some years.. and this module was the ticket for me. I use a syn-1 with the Pitbull into my USA PRS Archon 50.. the EQ on the Pittbull is very very sensitive. A little goes a long way.
I just got this module yesterday and I agree 100%, the EQ is very sensitive and powerful. This module is incredibly versatile. Love it!
So far my most favorite module.
Ok, thank god after 10 years of playing your equipment I feel like this video confirms I am using them correctly ;)
Great run through, literally just got the PitBull today!! Thanks
How do you like it?
@@darellville at first I was digging it , deliverance won my tone heart.
I really like the way the way the EQ steps up the gain, and reshapes it, and having the EQ / boost on the footswitch is the thing I miss most from my UL
thanks for this. now i can better understand the quirks of this module.
Thank You Steve. I was unaware of the volume clipping the EQ and will now look for that when “sculpting” a sound. This module thru my PS2 into SC 2x12 cab: I’m getting a lot of great tones. Cheers!
Great sounding module. After watching this video and realized that I should check out the Fryette Pittbull amp
Man I need to buy one of these. I had a 50 CL with GEQ that I LOVED and lost it in a house fire. I miss it every day.
😢
Steve you are the absolute shit. Love your combination of practical and technical tone advice.
Hopefully this is leading to the Ultra Lead rerelease!
Just found a clean 05 Pitbull UL 120 local and matched with a Hiwatt hi-gain series 4x12 with the f70s. How does the cab compare to the fat bottom/deliverance cabs with f70s?
Your eq explanation helped me a ton with dialing it in. Using a fender Strat with a single Seymour Duncan HB.
The FatBottom cab is more focused and directional due to the cab design and the fact that the speakers are front mounted. It's a very tight punchy cab. The current D cab is more omnidirectional, again, due to the cab design - specifically the V-Brace - feature, and that the speakers are rear mounted. It would sound closer to your cab, but with a tighter bottom end.
Very cool. One question I always meant to ask you re: my CLX: I tend to run the middle channel in vintage mode, the third channel in high gain mode, but I don't use the third channel much. But, the third channel being set to high gain mode affects the second channel sound/response in such a way that I prefer the third channel being in this mode even if I am using the second channel in vintage for most of what I play. Was this by design to have them interactive in this way?
The CLX doesn't have anything called "Vintage" mode. If you mean "Normal", there may be a very subtle interaction between the gain switch settings on Lead and Rhythm. If you're not really using the Lead channel, there's no downside to leaving the Lead channel set to Hi Gain if that makes the Rhythm channel work better for you.
Can the green channel do a good clean sound (without rolling back the guitar's volume)? Very interested in buying one of these.
The green channel is a slightly lower gain version of lead with a little more low end and a little brighter on top. It's not a fender channel.
Cool vid Steve, having 2, 50ST and 2, CL50s, I love the way the guitar volume works with the amps staying fat and loud when rolled down.
Do these work the same?
Thanks
Yes! See: ua-cam.com/video/p5OKz7al6qU/v-deo.html; ua-cam.com/video/nGQ_ofZPgKg/v-deo.html
Man, save some Pittbulls for the rest of us!
how do I set up presence on this module if I use power-amp presence ?
Set it however it sounds good to you. There is no set hierarchy.
Doesn’t the bottom gain feed into the top gain?
No. Independent gain controls on each channel.
Is the three (or four with presence) band EQ after the input stage of the preamp or after the preamp (ala Bassman/Marshall)? I'm guessing its right after the first triode (because the six band is at the end), but would want to be sure.
5k the secret sauce.
69th like, lol, what a great video
