A lot of people forget that was one of Sam Hinkies shortcomings. He took Jahlil Okafor with a lotto pick a year after they used one on Embiid because he thought Okafor was the best player available, not because he fit what the team needed
You should do a video on the current salary cap rules (1st, 2nd apron, etc) and the intricate details of what teams can and can't do. Also you should do a dive into crazy contracts like Brunson's recent contract with the Knicks.
Crazy that the celtics are so deep at guard slots that jd davidson is leading the Gleague in scoring and assists and just became the celtics gleague team alltime leading scorer and hasnt seen minutes in the actual league at all this season, also while im here jaylen brown is the celtics best scorer tatum is the celtics best player not even a debate offense runs through tatum he rebounds and defends and brown flips a coin every morning deciding if he is gonna be able to dribble or not, most consistent on the team on making shots just cant always get to his spots and make plays from there. I have missed 3 celtics games this year so i would love for someone to argue that
As someone who has watched a similar amount of Celtics game this season, I’d actually argue that Tatum is a better scorer than JB. JB is maybe a little bit more built for playoff scoring since he’s a better finisher when he acts as a slasher and that’s as consistent as shotmaking gets in the playoffs, Tatum has been the more consistent volume scorer for basically their entire careers and is a better shooter from 3.
I think Tatum is not the better three point shooter because he jacks up too many threes and if he doesn’t make them if puts them at a risk of losing especially in the playoffs
I think it’s always best to have a deep bench. Case in point with the current Warriors. Losing Klay definitely hurt them, but they were able to find a whole bench unit to fill it out because of it. I think because the Rockets are so young and a few of them are former lottery picks it’s a bit of a different buy in. Yes they’re winning more but until they’re a top 5 team in the Western Conference, I think it’s gonna be easier said than done.

Not to mention on top of that you have Fred and Dillon brought in as well. So yes, I’d say similar to the Thunder, but not quite as much as some would think.

@whatslaps Which one am I not? Last year (were we had to give minutes to more than 30 different players) and that one year where they somehow made the playoffs despite being forced to start guys like Jordan Farmar (they gave minutes to 28 players in total). Also, the past two playoff trips for the Grizzlies have been derailed by injuries (losing Ja against the Warriors and losing both Steven Adams and Brandon Clarke against the Lakers). And even this year. They've been long stretches without either Ja, JJJ or Bane. Edey, Smart and Kennard have missed considerable time while we've had like 20 minutes combined of Vince Williams Jr. and GG Jackson. If we weren't as deep as we are, we'd be amongst the worst teams in the league instead of being a top 4 seed in the West.

Watching the Spurs closely for over a decade, my general belief is that depth really helps you out in the regular season, and in the final stages of the playoffs, but top-heavy teams can absolutely do some damage in the early rounds when everyone can play 40+ minutes every game. The Big-Three Thunder and Lob City Clippers were a perpetual nuisance because while our bench probably had the talent to make the eight seed on their own, it didn't really matter if they couldn't go toe-to-toe with a lineup of superstars that never had to rest

Yeah the Celts depth is a nice luxury (tax) to have 😬. I kinda foresaw Houston's minutes allocation situation to be a problem coming into this season, gift and a curse, a lot of talent available, not enough minutes for everybody. Suns did sort of screw themselves with their situation of the guys they picked up (and are paying what they're paying). That 2014 Spurs team was a heck of a squad, really enjoyed watching them. A good GM has to understand the value of a superstar/all-star vs what they give up for them (picks). Thanks again bro, always stay k*llin the topics you cover. Big up for what you do man. Ap👏pre👏ci👏a👏ted. 🫡
haha, thanks for censoring the comment! I always error on the side of caution on youtube. You're Celtics are going to have some prosperous years in the future. Luckily the fans ain't gotta foot that bill. Maybe Besos buys it and let's the Luxury tax bill rip! I appreciate the appreciation as always!
