Congratulations on getting into your new home. It looks fantastic. But yes I have to say that I am incredibly interested in seeing how the sound reactive works for the front of the house like you have set up there. Highly interested. Although I am also more interested in how much a setup like that would really cost. Also I am a father of three girls and while I love my daughters to pieces I couldn't imagine having five of them in the pure chaos that would come from that. Lol. My hats off to the Mrs. Outstanding work.
Thanks so much for watching and for the comment! Daughters are the best :) I would love to do some follow up videos on this setup but will depend on how the weather holds up! I'll also have to add up the total cost of the products. My guess would be somewhere between 4 and 5k. Thanks again and great to meet a fellow Dad of girls!
One more thing, I never knew y'all have five children which are home schooled. Props to momma for sure! That's some wonderful chaos you've got there and now I definitely understand why you chose to use voice overs in your video. God bless you and yours brother. Have a Merry Christmas and a very, very, Happy New Year!
Chris, congrats on God’s blessings! Reminds me of our family. We homeschool our 9 kids ages 14 down to 7 month old twins. Love the beautiful noise. We are in Minnesota. Our church is gonna do live music in a Christmas parade and we are using Govee stuff.
Thanks so much! It was a long road of saving up but we are very happy to have some more land and a little more space for the kids! Cant wait to plan a garden!
@dinkleberg93 That's a completely false statement. Every single one of my friends homeschooled all of their children and they're all leaps and bounds ahead of their friends who went to public school. All of them well rounded, respectful, highly intelligent and with drives that the publicly schooled children wish they had. Oh and all of them are trained in self defense and can shoot damn near better than their parents, so there's that.
beautiful home congratulations to you and your family! And good lord what an awesome project, I just overhauled my office and took some inspiration from your videos using some govee lights, and im loving their app with AI prompting. Govee gets some serious kudos for jumping on the opportunity to work with you.
Thanks for watching buddy! Appreciate it! Thats so cool to hear. Yeah, the AI prompting was awesome especially with the curtain lights! Just have to wait for my Vikings to have a night game and the house will be purple and gold!
Congratulations on the additional child/new baby, but also on the move! I'm a homeowner at two years now and I remember finding your channel right after I bought my house; And then, without warning, WHOOSH--two years flew by like nothing. I know how hectic simply buying a house can be, and I don't have four children. God bless, and Merry Christmas!
Wow Chris!!! Simply amazing. Love the house. I just got the GOVEE Elites for my front porch. I’m still a big fan of WLED but and the matter support has for GOVEE has me questioning if I want to still do WLED. I am putting arches with WLED out this year but GOVEE is doing good things.
Thanks so much Dennis! Always great to hear from you!! I am also still a huge fan of WLED but I don't even want to begin to think about what it would take to do what I just did while going the diy rout with WLED. Plug n play products are not perfect, but they sure are convenient and the features just keep getting better!
Can you talk with your Govee reps and encourage them to release their own rails for the curtain lights? My wife and I loved your Govee video at the old house and got us to pull the trigger for outdoor lights and curtain lights for the garage. New house setup looks awesome! Congrats!
I don't know if you have done this yet, but I would love to see how the Govee lights that go on the roof eve's. Main thing is how they look close to the house and as far away from the house (on the end of the eve).
Yeah its tough to do that comparison unless you install 2 separate its. For reference though, these were about 2 inches from the house. If I were to do it again, I'd probably go closer to 4 inches.
I love scene stage! That's so cool! I'm sad it's in beta still. Please do a whole video about it ASAP! When you started the video, I was thinking "there's no way that's all govee, he must've converted them to xlight" but you didn't. That's so cool.
Yeah its very exciting of what the plug n play crowd will be able to pull off with scene stage! It will only get better and already its pretty amazing! I'll for sure try doing a full video as long as the temps stay decent here! Nothing worse than filming or doing anything outside when your freezing cold!
Holyyy moly !! That new setting where everything does the same depending on their location is insane!!! All govee needs in my opinion is better 3D mapping for string lights like twinkly 3D mapping A better music algorithm system that recognizes different wave lengths and beats like nano leaves And more lumin blend omg those sting light 2 pro color 16 bit processor making animations smoother and the colors are so cool Side note. I also wish they had microphone-less option for their products, it’s honestly such a huge cybersecurity risk.
@ Wow did they show you future updates before all of us? (If so I can assume you can’t talk about them but if you are exited I’m exited) Also Just purchased some string lights using your link man! Cheers
Congrats on the beautiful new home, Chris, it looks like a great place for your family! I'm impressed that you can find as much "project time" as you can with your hands that full. We have one kiddo and I struggle to find the time to do even half of the amount of projects that you do. Add one more project to that list: Run an outlet to that space above the stairs, probably from the attic. Also, you did a great job of showcasing Govee's new stuff, it looks legit! I think their new products address most of the remaining issues/hesitations I had with them (camera for TV backlighting replaces by an HDMI sync box, etc). How well do the new things work with HomeAssistant?
Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment! Lol the house has outlets pretty much everywhere except for that one spot on the stairs so you're definitely right! Yeah when I do a project I'm pretty efficient so I can get things done pretty quickly! Yeah so far loving the hdmi sync box. I have not gone down the HomeAssistant path yet so i'm not the best to speak on that. Yes i know it woks but to what degree, that i'm not sure. Maybe someone else reading this might have some input on this?!
@@yohan50111 Amen to that! Very blessed to have a wife who is on board with homeschooling as she does the vast majority of the schooling. I usually come in to help with math :)
Congrats on the new house Chris, very happy for you and your family and well DESERVED. Thanks for showing us possibilities beyond our own imagination. Keep up the good work, happy holidays!!
Congratulations on the new home Chris :) another amazing video, and the only way to christen the new house with a bunch of LED's love the setup looks great man. Govee couldn't have picked anybody better to give those 2 magic words to (GO CRAZY) Happy Holidays to you and your family Cheers !!! PS: out of 193 comments you reply to almost every single one it's so wonderful to see a youtuber that actually acknowledges people's words I E-mailed you a few years back and thought I wouldn't get a response seeing that you had triple digits in subscribers but I got a swift response and was thrilled, it's great you care what people have to say. Thanks for all your devoted time, hard work, money, and sweat that you put into your channel it shows.
Congrats on the new home! Looks amazing. Thanks for sharing your setup. I had no idea how well all the products could work together. Any info on where to get the various white flocked Christmas trees you used in and outside your home?
You have inspired me, my dude. Over the last 3 weeks I have purchased about $2000 worth of Govee lights and have been installing them day by day as the orders come in. I have completely replaced my old Christmas lights and outfitted my house with Govee lights for the holidays. I’ve also been messing around with the Light show boxes for music syncing and using an FM transmitter to get music to sync with the selected music over the FM station. But I had no idea about the scene stage, that does look like a game changer. You should do a video on the that as well. Im curious if you would even need the light show boxes to sync the music.
Thanks for watching! I'll for sure try doing it at some point as long as it doesn't start getting super cold! Nothing is worse than trying to film a video when your freezing cold!
Well Done. Congrats on the house and plan. You have earned that big thank you from Govee. I'm watching and thinking how beautiful it is, but I fear what your outlets look like with all this plugged in. Can you give us a video short of your power management inside and outside? Can you cut the power lines and extend or shorten them? Well done, and thanks for the quality content.
Congrats on the new pad man that’s awesome news I’ve been following you since your first video in the permanent lights. Because of you I purchased a lot of there lights this year. It would be awesome if you did tutorial(walkthrough) video.
Dunno why, but the end result brought me to tears. Maybe the music had something to do with it. Anyway, I love the results. I might have to look into doing something like this soonish. Happy holidays/Merry Christmas!
What an awesome job Chris. man I am elated for you and your family in your beautiful new home..congrats! I think I have seen most, if not all of your videos and find them extremely helpful and well created. I'm fairly new to the Govee lights, so you are the content creator I seek out for ideas and instructions when I need help. Keep up the great work, and bountiful blessings to your family. Hey, I just purchased the 100 foot ground lights and would like to run them along each side of my driveway. Do you think I could get away with splicing in a 30 foot 18 gauge extension wire to cross the driveway back to the control/power end? Thanks again!
This looks amazing man congrats on the house and everything👍 We for sure need a whole video on scene stage like ASAP lol. when are they planning on coming out with it??
You're lucky because a lot of us dream to have what you have and that's being a husband and a dad. I would give my last breath just to be in your shoes for a week.
I remember watching when you were at 10k subs, very impressed with your hard work buddy. I have govee stuff but there outdated and I definitely need to upgrade. Please give a list of the new LEDs to purchase that are worthy
this looks stellar. congrats to your new home and wow does it look amaizing! im living in a 1-room appartmend and wanna switch into something bigger in 1-2 years and your videos are a big inspiration for lighting setups i wanna use and test if the time for moving is here. wich you and your family a wonderfull christmas time and stay healthy 🙌 gretteings from germany 😁
Congrats on the home! I'm fairly new to your channel, but love all the setups you post. For the RGBW strip on the backside of the TV, do you recommend going for natural white or cool white?
House is beautiful, before AND after the lights. Congrats man. I've bought way too many Gover lights because of you. Guess I'm gonna have to get a few more...😂
@@ChrisMaherDIY Okay I watched the video and the lights are amazing. I've got a bunch of your videos saved for when I'm ready to upgrade my office space (once I get an office space). Super thankful for your details on products and especially for the soldering instruction video.
Most effects were scenic Dreamview which can connect up to 20 devices to control at once. Super easy. Go to home, click on Dreamview, select scenic Dreamview and add the devices you want. That's it.
Awesome video! Congrats on your new home. Your setup looks seamless and I definite had a wow factor. Again, awesome job! I’m not familiar with Scene Stage, but I noticed you have more options than I do. I have the Govee x The Wild Robot Curtain Lights 2 in three separate kits, which saved me some money. I’m curious if the 14.8×6.6ft version offers more options. Anyway, I’m excited to watch another video on Scene Stage setup. I’m going to try ‘manage the device’ tonight to see if I can get a similar effect.
Thanks so much for the kind words!! My understanding was that scene stage would be rolling out last week. Check for any updates. I don't think the big kit would offer any additional functionality. The scene state was under more and then the option showed up there. I'll let you know if I hear anything else on my end about scene stage not showing up yet for some!
@ Update…. There seems to be a difference in the Govee lights 2 or I’m doing something wrong. I have Model: H70B3(4.9ft*6.6ft). The version you show is H70B5(14.8ft*6.6ft). At the video mark 10:33 you have a camping scene showing. My “camping” scene has all three curtains showing duplicate images. I can’t seem to figure this out.
Great video Chris and spectacular results; it's from your videos that I've moved over completely to the Govee eco-system from Philips. Really struggling with soldering strips back together though, any advice on which are the best connectors that I could be using from Amazon(UK)??
Thanks for watching and thanks for taking the time to comment! I've still not found any clips that work with the govee m1. Most all clips are made for the standard ws2812b, sk6812, etc diy type strips. I'll let you know if I do every find something that works! In my experience with soldering though, the type of solder you use makes the biggest difference!
That only happened 1 time (a couple strands got flipped up) but that was a night we had some crazy high wind. Gusts up to 25mph. We have had windy days since but that has not happened since.
yeah I'm going to try finding time! As long as the temps dont get too cold! Nothing is worse than filming with freezing cold hands lol. But yeah, its pretty incredible!
Thanks for watching! I'll have to add everything up at some point! If someone wanted to do something similar though, i know the main cost would be the lights, and then it was all those Christmas trees. I got those at Hobby Lobby.
@ChrisMaherDIY So, the computer/xlights, time to configure/place and planning, electricity and hardware, like lights are not included in the end pricetag?
I have always just wrapped the plug parts in a plastic bag and have never had any issues. Not the most glamourous but i have enough shrubs to hid them behind so they are mostly out of sight!
Thanks so much for watching! Yeah we just moved! I will have to try adding everything up here at some point! If I had to guess though, probably between 4 and 5k worth of lights.
@@ChrisMaherDIY Thanks for the response. It is not that bad if you take into consideration that you will pay more than that for something like JellyFish permanent outdoor lights.
Lol yeah I know. I debated making it all Christmas theme but Christmas theme content usually only gets watched in November and December and then falls off the face of the earth. I'm hoping UA-cam will recommend this year round!
Do you have the new AI sync box or one of their camera setups? So far so good with calibration. The only thing I played around with was the saturation which I keep right around the middle. I have not found out if its possible for the lights to turn off on darker parts of the screen but I'm going to try doing a follow up video at some point of the living room setup.
@@RASMYKL gotcha. Yeah this HDMI 2.1 sync box that I'm using in the video has dedicated white LEDs on the strip so it performs very well on the white colors.
my issue with scene stage is that you cant bind it to a tap to run and you cant trigger it remotely. its a sweet feature, but the cone tree doesnt show up as controllable and neither do normal bulbs so it cant control my whole front yard

Great video! You knocked it out of the park!

WOW!!! This is incredible!! Amazing job once again! The house is beautiful!!! 😍 Love the sweet noises from those precious kids. ❤
Congratulations on the new house! Hope you have a new room for your gaming and projector.
Great setup Chris!
PS: out of 193 comments you reply to almost every single one it's so wonderful to see a youtuber that actually acknowledges people's words I E-mailed you a few years back and thought
I wouldn't get a response seeing that you had triple digits in subscribers but I got a swift response and was thrilled, it's great you care what people have to say. Thanks for all your devoted time, hard work, money, and sweat that you put into your channel it shows.
Wow blown away. Would definitely be getting the curtain lights
Congrats on the beautiful home. All the best to you and your family!
Thanks so much for watching! Appreciate the love!
Also, without being too intrusive. What area of the US can you get this amazing new home and land? We don’t get seasons down south. Thanks again
We are up north! We do love the 4 seasons. Winter just wouldn't be the same without snow!
WOW!! That was really cool!
Thanks so much for watching!! Appreciate it buddy!
The house looks great, congrats! Please do a whole video on scene stage!
Thanks for watching! I'll for sure try doing it at some point as long as it doesn't start getting super cold! Nothing is worse than trying to film a video when your freezing cold!
@@ChrisMaherDIY I totally get it! I just installed the permanent pros yesterday and I am going to order a few sets of the curtain lights 2
@@roknboker curtain lights definitely make the entire setup pop! Plus I think they are the most fun!
Congrats on the house Chris! Looks great!
Congrats on the new home. I love your work. I get inspired to want to do the same. I thank you for your content and ideas you share. God bless you.
Salute to your wife in handling 5 kids! Great video, Chris!! 🎉
Thanks so much for watching! She is for sure a keeper :)
Amazing Job Chris! So glad Govee let you go full out 🤣 so happy for you and your family in your new home. Happy Holidays!
Thanks so much buddy! Appreciate you taking the time to comment! Hope you have a great Christmas!
That looks insane!! Definitely one of the biggest projects!!
Thanks Nate!! Thanks for watching! Love the work you do on your channel! The gaming setup was sick!
Congrats on the new pad man that’s awesome news I’ve been following you since your first video in the permanent lights. Because of you I purchased a lot of there lights this year. It would be awesome if you did tutorial(walkthrough) video.
This is amazing!! Congrats on the new house.
Thanks so much! Appreciate the support!
Congrats on your new home! Great job as always.
Thanks so much! Appreciate it!
Looks really good Chris
Congrats on the new home. This looks great. Please do a video about their new scene stage option. Thanks, I enjoy all your videos.
Dunno why, but the end result brought me to tears. Maybe the music had something to do with it. Anyway, I love the results. I might have to look into doing something like this soonish. Happy holidays/Merry Christmas!
Thanks for the kind words! Merry Christmas to you as well and hope you have a blessed day!
Sweet! and congratulation on the new home. Space is wonderful.
Thanks so much! Its such a blessing to have more land for the family and a little more space!
Awesome job!!!
Hey, I would live to see a video of the new sound stage and features. Im on Govee 1 curtains and have been wondering about the new features
this looks stellar. congrats to your new home and wow does it look amaizing! im living in a 1-room appartmend and wanna switch into something bigger in 1-2 years and your videos are a big inspiration for lighting setups i wanna use and test if the time for moving is here.
wich you and your family a wonderfull christmas time and stay healthy 🙌
gretteings from germany 😁
That's pretty awesome I was trying to add up the total cost of all those boxes and I'm guessing it's around 2 to 4k in govee items lol that's awesome
Congrats on the home! I'm fairly new to your channel, but love all the setups you post.
For the RGBW strip on the backside of the TV, do you recommend going for natural white or cool white?
PLEASE do a dedicated video on that new feature!
House is beautiful, before AND after the lights. Congrats man.
I've bought way too many Gover lights because of you. Guess I'm gonna have to get a few more...😂
Lol yeah there is always something new that's coming out! Thanks for all your support over the years buddy! I appreciate it!
Before I even watch this video- man that house is gorgeous.
Thanks so much for the kind words! We are for sure thankful for the extra land and a little extra space for the kids to run around!
@@ChrisMaherDIY Okay I watched the video and the lights are amazing. I've got a bunch of your videos saved for when I'm ready to upgrade my office space (once I get an office space). Super thankful for your details on products and especially for the soldering instruction video.
This is great I have a question how did you anchor your outside trees i want to do the same but the wind can be really bad
how did you setup your dreamview with the devices ?
Most effects were scenic Dreamview which can connect up to 20 devices to control at once. Super easy. Go to home, click on Dreamview, select scenic Dreamview and add the devices you want. That's it.
K i really want to do that living room set up to both my family and game room lol. might have to pull the trigger this year
Bruh, you definitely went crazy 😂. I love it!
Thanks buddy!! I definitely did lol
You knocked this one out of the park!!!!!!!
Thanks so much!! Appreciate it!
@@ChrisMaherDIY Ok, great. I'll keep you posted tonight on my findings within the app. I have Apple's app which is version 6.4.10
Awwwweesome!
@@ChrisMaherDIY Thanks for taking the time to reach out, would be awesome to hear back if you do find something
That's tons of work! Nice house!
Lol yeah it was a lot more work than I was thinking! Thanks so much for watching!
Well done sir, well done!
Asking about the icicle lights. Do you have any problems of the light flipping up on to the gutters and getting stuck. Requiring a ladder to fix.
That only happened 1 time (a couple strands got flipped up) but that was a night we had some crazy high wind. Gusts up to 25mph. We have had windy days since but that has not happened since.
Scene stage....you gotta do it BRO!!!!😂
yeah I'm going to try finding time! As long as the temps dont get too cold! Nothing is worse than filming with freezing cold hands lol. But yeah, its pretty incredible!
C.M. This is a BIG TIME Game Changer will be working on Lights tomorrow and also Grats on the new Home !⭐⭐⭐
yes please do a video with the new app features
Chris, you forgot to link the Christmas trees you used throughout the house that have the "white snow" stuff on them
Ahh yeah I did! I got all the trees at Hobby Lobby! 50% off all their Christmas décor! I love the white snow trees. Lights look extra good on them!
@ChrisMaherDIY awesome!
Looking good!
Thanks for watching!
Congrats on the new house! Amazing new playground to continue the RGB addiction 😂
So, the cost to order, build, maintain and set-up is?
Thanks for watching! I'll have to add everything up at some point! If someone wanted to do something similar though, i know the main cost would be the lights, and then it was all those Christmas trees. I got those at Hobby Lobby.
@ChrisMaherDIY So, the computer/xlights, time to configure/place and planning, electricity and hardware, like lights are not included in the end pricetag?
This was all done with Govee. There is no computer/xlights. Its all plug n play.
What are you doing as far as keeping the power and the controllers out of the weather?
I have always just wrapped the plug parts in a plastic bag and have never had any issues. Not the most glamourous but i have enough shrubs to hid them behind so they are mostly out of sight!
New house? Congratulations. How much would it cost to go crazy like that?
Thanks so much for watching! Yeah we just moved! I will have to try adding everything up here at some point! If I had to guess though, probably between 4 and 5k worth of lights.
@@ChrisMaherDIY Thanks for the response. It is not that bad if you take into consideration that you will pay more than that for something like JellyFish permanent outdoor lights.
For sure! As long as your ok installing everything yourself, you can get a lot of lights compared to having someone else do the installation.
I wish I was your neighbor 😂
I wish you were too if you are also a fan of Christmas lights!! Thanks for watching!
Wonderful! Just a little comment: DUDE!! It's Christmas lights and you music is Jazz(?) 🤣
Lol yeah I know. I debated making it all Christmas theme but Christmas theme content usually only gets watched in November and December and then falls off the face of the earth. I'm hoping UA-cam will recommend this year round!
I would like to see more about the sync view
Chris your the BEST 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Very nicely done, congrats
Do you struggle with the tv light calibration like me? Got any tips?
Do you have the new AI sync box or one of their camera setups? So far so good with calibration. The only thing I played around with was the saturation which I keep right around the middle. I have not found out if its possible for the lights to turn off on darker parts of the screen but I'm going to try doing a follow up video at some point of the living room setup.
@ChrisMaherDIY camera setup. The whites are pink no matter how much ambient light I have in the room at the time of calibration
My saturation had to be at 1% in order to get close to white
@@RASMYKL gotcha. Yeah this HDMI 2.1 sync box that I'm using in the video has dedicated white LEDs on the strip so it performs very well on the white colors.
my issue with scene stage is that you cant bind it to a tap to run and you cant trigger it remotely. its a sweet feature, but the cone tree doesnt show up as controllable and neither do normal bulbs so it cant control my whole front yard
You should do a video on the sound reactive.
All I am going to say...When I saw the unboxing of the gear all I could say was "Holy SH*T!"
Lol it was surreal for me as well. The boxes just kept coming! It was a dream come true!
@ChrisMaherDIY man you are the best when it comes to DIY LED projects. Thank you for sharing your passion with us.
