I'm an old guy now. It warms my heart to see and hear young people who appreciate even the '80s Genesis, doing the Tony Banks parts. He is an underrated genius. I was Mr. Math's age when the original was published. Life goes by so quickly...

Well it's basicaly the Hammond preset of the Prophet with a bit of chorus,
And for the Quadra I tried to recreate the lead sound with 2 vst of Fl studio ..
At the moment I have a lack of motivation to keep this channel up so.. I dont know :(

Great job, as always.
I've covered this one in a few of my bands over close to the past 20 years.
The synth tone you came up sounds almost identical to the one I came up with to try to match the record. It's really close, and certain has the "feel" of the original, but not spot on for either of us, but ridiculously close. Better than what some Genesis tribute bands have used for it. I heard Tony Banks used some effects pedals on the song, and even more so when they played it live, those to be key to perfectly matching the sound. But I'm still pretty satisfied with what I came up with, and what you came up with. I add a little reverb, I didn't hear too much reverb in yours.
For the organ, I basically use an FM synth engine for that. My Yamaha FB-01 module had a pretty close one, and I imported a converted version of that into DX7 format. I recently found an organ in a patch collection for my MODX/Montage that sounded even closer, should I cover it again. Tony used his Prophet 10 for the organ. The organ use used sounds more like a real Hammond organ sound, but the one on the record has a slightly different, imitation of a Hammond sound. I don't think it would matter for the ending parts in your video, but for the rest of the song it might during the verses.

I must agree that for most of the tribute bands, abacab is a real weakness. I've ever seen a tribute band (can't remember the name) where the keyboardist used a real quadra and doesn't have the good sound (wtf).
I only knew that he used the expression pedal obviously but it doesn't surprise me if he used other pedal effects, for me and sarah jane he used a pedal for the filter on the organ..
For the organ that's intersting. I use the prophet 10 vst because I always want to use tony's keyboards but it's astonishing that other FM synth or module can have a closer one than the real prophet (as a vst but still a prophet).
I played the whole song during the recording and the organ sound I used didn't shocked me so much, abacab is always very strange and empty in isolated keyboards anyway ;D
And of course if you still have your quadra sound and if you have a better organ, I really want to ear that, do a cover!!
Your Quadra lead ......for the studio version anyway.....I would say is spot on. Even the portamento is there so my hat's off to you. Great job.
However?? Your organ needs a bit of tweaking....less middle I would say. Think of Man On The Corner/In The Air pad an go from there...that's where that sound derives....same one as in Me and Sarah Jane...I have my Prophet six and it works perfectly. Just some friendly advice.

As you noticed I tried to spot the studio version since I’m done with the live version (even if it wasn’t spot on at all),
But the Quadra lead took me literally 10 minutes to do, 1 oscillator with portamento, 1 same without, and one with a very small ce chorus to soften the oscillator sound..
For the prophet, the studio version is not at all the same and played with different chords than live version so yeah.. with a real prophet 6 it must be way better as you said !
