this is a great recording...great video and audio...this song is further proof that smashing pumpkins are still making amazing music..this song is amazing.
Love it. It has a little of a the cure flare epecially with the guitar. I loved the last album sure ill love this one too. This is better then the older albums in the ninetys however i did like some songs back then like tonight tonight' which is the best song i ever heard.
This is the most talented band Corgan has ever had behind him. Look, i love me some Jimmy, but The Kid can hold his own and then some. Oceania is a very exciting beginning to a new era of The Pumpkins and i cannot wait to hear what the future holds.
I knew I couldn't be alone in the appreciation of the drumwork on this album. You hear some songs and go, "The drummer killed it." Or, "The drums were sick!" But with Mike Byrne in this, I always think that this is THE guy I want behind the kit jamming with me. 🤘 *[PROG INTENSIFIES]*
thank you Ikennet... i just saw the show yesterday in Italy... i am a long time fan, and i have to say that i love those new songs... and he still kick ass!
Some people just want nostalgia, others want artists to grow. I'm of the latter. I really like it so far and it's growing on me more and more. Billy sounds comfortable with himself, which I didn't feel on Zeitgeist. Those are my faves plus "Violet Rays." I think it'll do fairly well because it's still got the Pumpkins sound, but at the same time it shows growth. I'm just happy to see Billy back in the music scene full force.
He still dresses and writes like the teenager who wrote all of those 20 year old songs we love so much. It makes me sad to think that he never overcame the demons that fueled such bitter and sad music. Forever a teenager. Anyone who lived through their teenage years knows that's a fate worse than death.
I took my friend to see them and he said the same thing. In his defense, he is 10 years younger than me and wanted a night of nostalgia. I tried telling him that songs like starla are old classics! Again, you can`t please everyone! I take it you like the new album? I think it`s outstanding. I especially love pinwheels, oceania and pale horse. I have a funny feeling this album will go one of two ways. It will grow on folk over the next year and do really well or remain a cult classic among fans.
I think this new cd is absolutely beautiful and I have been a SP fan since the beginning. People need to embrace the new....love and keep the old but embrace the new. This song in particular is beautiful!!!
Definitely my favourite song off the album. I gotta say I'm really impressed with the new line-up and the new songs. Can't wait for the next teargarden installment. Oh and cheers for the uploads dude, great stuff.
They are both real god guys who have made a massive contribution to the music industry. They are trying to heal the wounds left by what nowadays passes as music. And im not jumping the bandwagon here, I have actually heard it and it isnt nice
Thank you! Well said. I read one person reviewed a concert on Ticketmaster bitching that they only played new material and he only wanted old stuff. Ironically that during their last tour they played a lot of old stuff, just more B-sides and all. Fuck those people, Oceania is amazing :D
This is of course beautiful and epic, I just hope for his sake that he finds happiness and peace in his life someday, thus allowing him to write happy music and actually be happy himself...
i agree, also i think machina 2 was greatly overlooked, maybe bcos in amongst the "commercial" gems, they had sweet stuff like white spider....etc, those mixes of blue skies and in my body are absolutely amazing, i cnt wait for the reissue.
good video and good audio, thumbs up to you. towards the end of the song, a bass solo and a drum solo with the electic guitar.... it sounded like iron maiden from the nineties, guess you have to have a ear for iron maiden to hear it over all it was a awesome video i think, i'll go buy the cd tomorrow.
Yeah you're probably right man, i'm listening right now Oceania and it's very interesting and emotive, it's really a pleasant surprise, but i miss all the first Smashing Pumpkins era, and D'Arcy was a sort of symbol of the band. I don't know how to explain it, but it was a kind of Alienated image of the '90s . Anyway, i love D'Arcy, James and Jimmy, as well as Billy and all the new SP.
im not a hardcore pumpkins fan, but i am a fan of rock, and i like sp alot when they are good, and they havent been very good in a while, but this is damn amazing, 5:21 is beautiful, i cant wait for this album to come out!
Oceania is a great album. Not sure what people have against change, and for me it's not a far leap from the past. It sounds like the Pumpkins. Also, lets be honest, billy is the SP, it doesn't matter how many times the line up changes.
This album... I don't know why this isn't considered one of Corgan's best works. Something about the distinct sound of it all. The way they used an eclectic array of electronics throughout. The synths and keyboards. The driving bass and tom-heavy drumwork. It's so much more prog than any other Smashing Pumpkins album. I would definitely call it a "lightning in a bottle" type of album.
This band is so far from any other, it deserves a life time achievement award.
this is one of SP's best songs, definitely in my top 20 SP songs
this is a great recording...great video and audio...this song is further proof that smashing pumpkins are still making amazing music..this song is amazing.

SP will in our heart, keep the old song in blood and open heart for the new. Love you SP and fan of them.
OCEANIA-great album to listen to...forever pumpkins.......
They really outdone themselves for this song. the sound, the lyrics, the subject matter, the drums, keyboards, Billy... all of it is SUPERB!!!
The sound of her bass!!! LOVE IT!!
Is Smashing Pumpkins some kind of progressive band now? Love it!
Oceania was progressive af
Oceania should be included in the library of any prog rock study. 😤
*astronaut shooting astronaut* Always has been.
Always get the chills @ 6:45 - usually I never feel this when I listen to music - adding this song to the top of my fav. songs.
wow, epic! seeing the Pumpkins live just found it's way on my bucket list
Gracias por grabar este pieza de arte, saludos desde ECUADOR!
This is the most talented band Corgan has ever had behind him. Look, i love me some Jimmy, but The Kid can hold his own and then some. Oceania is a very exciting beginning to a new era of The Pumpkins and i cannot wait to hear what the future holds.

Gorgeous! I couldn't keep my eyes open.
thank you Ikennet... i just saw the show yesterday in Italy... i am a long time fan, and i have to say that i love those new songs... and he still kick ass!

Very unique ... No comparison .. a masterpiece ...
By far the best cover of "Cloud's Theme" from Final Fantasy VII
The Audio in this is OUTSTANDING!
great! thanks for the upload.
didn't think the pumpkins would ever be this good again.
Thank you! Billy we love it too ❤😂😊🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

The fact you take it all at such face value shows how effective his writing is. Ten years later, happy family man...
FANTASTIC!!!!
Wonderful billy his friends
Nice to see that people finally appreciate the new Pumpkins. :)
I took my friend to see them and he said the same thing. In his defense, he is 10 years younger than me and wanted a night of nostalgia. I tried telling him that songs like starla are old classics! this song is perfect!
This is of course beautiful and epic, I just hope for his sake that he finds happiness and peace in his life someday, thus allowing him to write happy music and actually be happy himself...
Billy doesn't find happiness the same way others do, but he finds it. Give him credit.
Billy you´re the man...great concert yesterday:):)
great sound & and video! good job!
i agree, also i think machina 2 was greatly overlooked, maybe bcos in amongst the "commercial" gems, they had sweet stuff like white spider....etc, those mixes of blue skies and in my body are absolutely amazing, i cnt wait for the reissue.

The bass is crucial in this one

WOW, awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!
COME TO FLORIDA!
This new album rocks! I think 'Oceania' (the song) and 'Song for a Son' are my favorites at this point.
The voice of Nicole is very beautiful!!! I like!!!
@LiamKeez yeah! He seems really into it!
he's singing really well again
I like the song that starts here though, yes!
Quierooooooo!
SICK, you probably have a point Billy when you say this is the thing everyone wants to listen to since Mellon Collies.
Jeff's melody insertions that were NOT on the studio version made this song BETTER. 😎😎😎
great damn album!!!!!!
Oceania is a great album. Not sure what people have against change, and for me it's not a far leap from the past. It sounds like the Pumpkins. Also, lets be honest, billy is the SP, it doesn't matter how many times the line up changes.
Saw them last night in Toronto. Good sound despite hockey arena ambience. Band were committed and tight.
my god, that solo at 11:00 is fantastic..
Gerreattt job! WOW. I mean, really, WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@rswc55 it´s called Mellotron....is from the 70s
This album...
