The Complete Guitarist is THE place for Rock/Metal/Shred Guitarists to improve their skills and make continuous improvement! Includes Daily Practice Plan! bit.ly/3Jq8jmf
You're welcome Ben. We should be the one thanking you for doing the legwork on all those shredders...I'm learning the 30 shredders now. Although it's still going to be a long ride but I'll get there
You are a genious dude, and not just for being shredding 20 minutes, because that compositions you've written are incredible. You deserve at least 1M likes
Awesome that you just did this old-school style. All technique (and some sound effects) no overwhelming reliance on whammy bars... no locking nut, just straight-forward playing. I think to many "players" get caught up in the 'trendy" stuff rather than the actual music itself. For example: How many "electric" guitar players could you hand a heavily strung acoustic too... without them sounding like they can't play at all. There is so much that goes beyond the scope of soloing that I think many of todays youngsters are missing out on. Music theory, for one.... acoustic playing and fingerstyle.... playing without effects... just hardcore basics.
What did I just witness!?!?! That one was one of the most amazing displays of guitar prowess I have ever seen... absolutely incredible!! 87 thumbs down? Put down the crack pipe and step away from your computer, people... nice and easy now...
Truly amazing! What an endeavor! I copied most of those shredders my whole life and you did a fantastic job of conveying the essence and physical characteristics of each player. And you know so of many of them... The work that you took to put that together coherently is a way better accomplishment than any hit song today. Who is that drummer? He was really good too.
Can't believe I never saw this video before. I was watching and was like, "Where's Shawn Lane?", and then surprise!- #101. Thank you for including Alexi Laiho.
You've gained a subscriber, this video is out of this planet! Like someone said, certainly you haven't enough recognition as you deserve for your playing. I definitely need to check out your other videos
This only took you a year??? Christ man, that was amazing \m/ My forearm is on fire just watching! And my mind is blown that you could even remember all of that. I wish I could give you more than 1 thumbs up. This was insanity!!
No U2's The Edge? ...Kidding. Always love your videos. For the "150 Shredders in One Solo" edition, may I humbly suggest Wolf Hoffmann/Jörg Fischer (Accept), Matthias Dieth (U.D.O.), Adrian Vandenberg (Vandenberg, Whitesnake), Steve Lynch (Autograph), Vinnie Vincent (Kiss, Vinnie Vincent Invasion), Trevor Rabin (Yes), Dann Huff (Giant), Roland Grapow (Helloween), Tracii Guns (L.A. Guns), Vernon Reid (Living Colour), Mark Reale (Riot), Ian Crichton (Saga), Michael Sweet/Oz Fox (Stryper), Steve Lukather (Toto), Dave Meniketti (Y&T), and Gary Moore (Thin Lizzy, G-Force, solo)?
Ben you are best guitarist on youtube, I hope one day, I will be able to do at least half of stuff you did in this video, cheers from Croatia and keep up the good shred :)
Well! I can honestly tell you that Ben Higgins is now the name I am throwing out when someone asks me who the most capable guitarist I have ever seen! A player can be famous or talented, but to make a video like this? It takes one of a kind musician. Out of all the guitar players in the world, if I could choose one to be my teacher, it would be Ben! I'll be watching this video few more million times.
Absolutely incredible level of guitar playing Ben, ar least 8th Dan Black belt 🤣 Superb......so glad you put Vito in there, such a beautiful guitar player. There were so many names I now have to go and investigate! Thank you 🙏🙏
I was getting worried that Vito Bratta wasn't going to make the list. But there he was at #91. 🙂 Should have included Night Ranger's guitar duo Brad Gillis and Jeff Watson (who also does 8 finger tapping).
I’ve been watching you for years and I am still watching your videos…you are so fucking good!! I’ve been playing for many years, and I still strive to be as good as you
Great job Man🎸. it would be cool if you made yourself a video of guitar players (Riffs or solo) from the 70s. Hendrix, Clapton, Back, Page, Blackmore, Gallagher, Kossoff, Iommi, Gilmour, Alvin Lee, Santana, Allman, SRV, Zappa, Lifeson... 🤘🏻👍🏻😉🎸
perfect example to teach the difference between tone and sound! As far as I hear, all parts are the same (amp)sound, but the tone itself is different by using different right and left-hand techniques (i.e. #12 picking hand). freaky awesome btw!
Amazing Dude! Only 12,000 +/- views? That was a kaleidoscope of melodic prose that immersed the senses. I need to go play now. I have a lot of work to do.
Man that was ÜberEpic! You're the King of shred, name that axe Excalibur!! How about doing a new collab in 2018? \m/ \m/ And... Some ideas in no particular order for the next: Michael Lee Firkins, Mike Stern, Kurdt Vanderhoof, Chris DeGamo, Michael Denner, Hank Shermann, Eddie Clarke, Peter Wells, Jeff Healey, Kane Roberts, Mark Reale, Gary Moore, Geoff Thorpe... Seriously, that was pure gold, dude!!
Fantastic video, Ben! Loved every bit. I have a few guitarists I need to research thanks to this video. Quite a few I didn’t recognize but was Wowed by
This is the first time in youtube I watch a complete video of shredding don't like that kind of speed music... But man you're just incredible! Go on and make an album if you're composer you will be placed very soon between those who you played.. It's insane!! How much technics you're able to play at such speed.. Amazing you are!
AWESOME STUFF!!!! You put a lot of great underrated players in there which I highly applaud! I think some others belonged in there though... Jeff Kollman - Vinnie Moore - Martin Miller - Tom Quayle, to name a few. You're a great player!
I guess if it weren't for the originality and desperation to find cool things to do on the guitar none of these solos would include RH tapping.......amazing how ONE guitarist could affect so many people in this world... you see it in every music store.. and on every professional stage. Even back then, Brad Gillis, Jeff Watson, Yngwie, Vai... they all suddenly realized their RH fingers for notation purposes. EVH is truly a legend in that aspect. If I had to work in a music store I would last about 5 minutes listening to all the kids do their version of "tapping" along with their insane dropped-tunings and over-cranked amps. This is some good stuff here.. thought I heard some Scorpions in there for a minute...(Higgins Style of course)
I'm bowing to you as I type, i mean just a brilliant display of your skills. I like, listen to or respect the entire list but my faves were Lynch, petrucci dimebag and schenker. Liking Tony McAlpine too, happy new year bro
Blows my mind man! Damn good job and I am sure any one of those guys, even #30, would be greatly impressed!!! Ah if ONLY I could prioritize playing enough to get even 1/10th that good, I'd be happy. Cheers mate
This is admirable, seriously man! 20 mins of non stop shredding, with so many changes of rhythm... Wow how many tries till "the one" final and perfect cut? Ps: expected John Norum, not disappointed
very impressive! role model. even though i mostly watch and play Jazz nowadays this was served to me on a plate. :) in my opinion this is the pinnacle of the rock-axe. Playing ability, Innovation, feel, knowledge, produciton, quality. It's up there. I remember seeing Your first videos some years ago showing them to my dad. he could actually recognize many players as well as I saw my very own highlights like friedman. Which brings us to the next point - thank You very much for making this whole style of music one unity again and not beeing an elitist for certain bands. Also You certainly did Your homework since many UA-cam cats would not even bring up for example Judas Priest let alone deal with richie faulkner which is a shame. Thanks Ben, I cheer to You

so Damn heavy!!! breathtakingly awesome shreds, you rock!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Alain
You're welcome Ben. We should be the one thanking you for doing the legwork on all those shredders...I'm learning the 30 shredders now. Although it's still going to be a long ride but I'll get there
Great, well I hope you enjoy it!
@@BenHigginsOfficial I'm still waiting to see Patrick Rondat stuff on your videos ! can you do it please ?
When you forget to hit record
LOOOOOOL
BITE YOUR TONGUE
when your string breaks right before 101
...That was the greatest lick ever....opps
Oh no that would be the unendurable misery after playing so well in one take ...... “one take “ :O
You are a genious dude, and not just for being shredding 20 minutes, because that compositions you've written are incredible. You deserve at least 1M likes
The sheer endurance necessary to do this is impressive enough !
but you just nail everything on the top of that ! :)
(Shawn Lane = Final Boss)
Max Faust final boss jajajajaja
lmao no buckethead is the final boss. He didnt play everything buckethead can play and nobody can
@@guittardaxel7746 Bruh, have you even seen Shawn Lane play? If you had then you wouldn't compare him to Buckethead.
Jason Becker would also be a final boss as he plays at Shawn's speed lmao. But Buckethead in no way could match Shawn's speed lol
mani simp Paul Gilbert was his teacher😅 But Buckethead jammed with Shawn Lane
''Hidden Level:Lil Wayne'',well played Sir,well played,specially after Jennifer Batten,who is a super skilled player.
I had her shrapnel record. Ben was on point with her tapping.
In Synyster gates I found a little bit of scream, beast and the harlet, and bat country 🤘🏻
Hat country.
Most people won't appreciate what went in to distilling these styles down to a few bars each, then putting this together.. Fantastic job man.
Awesome that you just did this old-school style. All technique (and some sound effects) no overwhelming reliance on whammy bars... no locking nut, just straight-forward playing. I think to many "players" get caught up in the 'trendy" stuff rather than the actual music itself. this, man, was one of the best youtube videos I've seen in my whole damn life.
Thanks Matheus!
This video deserves way more views, good job bro!
So ben, how many guitar shredders can you amazingly imitate. Ben, “yes”
How many Millenniums have you been playing for?
Darn I'm old, so many that I don't know. Liked it . Thanks, God bless n rock on little brother.
Thanks David, that's Jan Vincent-Velazco on drums
Can't believe I never saw this video before. I was watching and was like, "Where's Shawn Lane?", and then surprise!- #101. Thank you for including Alexi Laiho.
Pat V. H. yes i smiled when i saw that name too. cobhc 🙂 always a fan
i love how he put Vito Bratta on this video. Good technique, well played and also a good video, man!
you are an UNREAL guitar player man. You captured so many different styles in one solo. amazing video
Mr .Ben this was THE most bad-ass guitar playing i've seen in my life , You have my respect :)
This is genius. Your performance on this shows your skills so much.
What an awesome player! Hard to pick just one sweet lick but the transition between dave murray and dimebag gives me goosebumps for god sake!!!!
Thanks Daniel!
Totally stoked to have seen Quorthon and Ihsahn in the mix. This was a bad ass project, worth the year grind. Subscribed.
good job !
btw Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman without whammy bar it's impossible lol
And dimebag
The background riffs and music are just as creative and really help tell you who the shredder is.
Do I play guitar? No...... But it’s very obvious that this is INSANELY awesome! The endurance is mind blowing alone! The precision is amazing!
You've gained a subscriber, this video is out of this planet! Like someone said, certainly you haven't enough recognition as you deserve for your playing. I definitely need to check out your other videos
I didn't mean to watch the whole thing, but there was no way I was turning this off... my mind got blown somewhere around the 12:27 mark.
I can't wait to see the blooper reel from this. Awesome stuff as usual Bennykins
This deserves million views for the effort..it takes time to memorize all of this licks. Best
Hats off to you that you dared to play the Lil Wayne Hidden shredding thing! Only a few could surpass that challenge.
An amazing achievement! Red Bull? I like that you had Garsed, Holdsworth, and Lane as your last three : )
This only took you a year??? Christ man, that was amazing \m/ My forearm is on fire just watching! And my mind is blown that you could even remember all of that. I wish I could give you more than 1 thumbs up. This was insanity!!
You have become one of my favorite guitarists
ridiculous - awesome job that couldn't have been easy to make!
No U2's The Edge? ...Kidding.

lets add christian muenzner & bumblefoot
Yeah, I was a little disappointed that Lukather wasn't in there, and Chris DeGarmo from Queensryche. It was still basically perfection, though.
Andy James as well
And Patrick Rondat too
Ben you are best guitarist on youtube, I hope one day, I will be able to do at least half of stuff you did in this video, cheers from Croatia and keep up the good shred :)
w wolf Thanks my friend!

Este foarte bun Ben...azi am mai descoperit un n mare jucător...pe Roy Marchbank
Roy Marchbank deține recordul mondial la viteză pe chitară și este al doilea Shawn Lane
I am floored by how amazing this is. On every level.
Unbelievable. Very cool to see how your left hand patterns change from player to player.
I could see his energy bar recharging during the lil wayne solo
Absolutely incredible level of guitar playing Ben, ar least 8th Dan Black belt 🤣 Superb......so glad you put Vito in there, such a beautiful guitar player. There were so many names I now have to go and investigate! Thank you 🙏🙏
Just wow!
No more words needed.
Wow, That was insane. Brilliant! If you ever do a part 2....would be great to hear you do Timo Tolkki, Ty Tabor, Adam Dutkiewicz and Eric Gillette.
I was getting worried that Vito Bratta wasn't going to make the list. But there he was at #91. 🙂
Should have included Night Ranger's guitar duo Brad Gillis and Jeff Watson (who also does 8 finger tapping).
Holy shit, bro. This gave me goosebumps
I watch it a few times in the Year, just to get motivated to keep up shredding 🤟
I’ve been watching you for years and I am still watching your videos…you are so fucking good!! I’ve been playing for many years, and I still strive to be as good as you
