I’ve had 7 Volvos since 1985 (two hit 200,000 miles). I was going to get a Telluride last year but supplies were so low and the markups were crazy. I went with a 2021 XC90 T6 and I’m so glad I stuck with Volvo. Best one I’ve ever owned and so fun to drive.
Be happy you didn’t choose the Telluride. Mine has a vibration/ humming problem that they can’t figure out. Very annoying. I regret my choice, I wish I chose Volvo instead.

I like this volvo because it is perfect for those who dont want the status the benz, bmw or audi brings, but provides better quality.
It's hard to really believe that this car is as old as it is, the design has been timeless.
They seem not interested in evolving into the future at all and that’s nice but worrying because they would loose many fans

That’s the point with Volvo XC90 - they have always been timeless & don’t update the exterior often. Ex: previous model didn’t change until this one.
I love this vehicle. This is my first choice of purchase in the far future after I run down my own Volco XC40 T4. My Volvo XC40 is a tank, run's heavy and smoothly on the road. Great gas mileage too.
Just picked up a 2016 inscription and wow it’s amazing! Thing still looks modern and gorgeous inside and out. I also own a first gen that’s a 2009 which has been flawless. Love the XC90
This car is a bargain compared with other luxury SUVs, and at same time it's very robust and full of new techs.
In the UK sunroof is an option across the xc90 range. We also have the crystal gear knob as standard on the inscription you don’t in the US. I receive my 2022 inscription in 2 days…
I love this car. My deal breaker was the AC is WAY too loud it’s hard to ignore

I just bought a new XC90 T8 2022. Awesome and great car! One remark: They will have a new stronger and bigger battery capacity in 2022 which will deliver 455 hp (mentioned on the Volvo website) instead of the 420hp which is mentioned in this video.
Does it come with LIDAR? TKS.

Love this SUV 🚙 for it being on the market for 7 model years, it still looks stunning! I just feel though that the refresh is slightly stepping backwards, why delete exposed exhaust and exhaust finish and why eliminate the drive mode wheel from the console?! All in all still a great vehicle.
In addition the headlight washers that were standard in 2021 can now only by had with the Climate Package. Also looks like the heated wipers that were in the 2021 Climate package are no longer there. Another decontenting has been the elimination of perforated second row leather seats for the leather equipped models. Only the front leather seats are now perforated. The one addition has been that with the advanced package one gets the air filter option included although it cannot be otherwise ordered separately as before. It is rumored per the Swedespeed forum that there may be an increased battery capacity for the XC90 T8 Recharge version beginning with mid year 2022 production (likely sometime in November) since apparently the XC60 Recharge will be getting that upgrade then and in the past when there have been upgrades to the hybrid battery it has applied to both the XC60 and XC90.
If it's not broken, why fix it?
Sure it's a little more stylish than my old 2005, but they're still beautiful inside and out.
I also have a new xc60 but love my old 90 so much I can't let her go.
The exhaust it's for better styling and to show volvos move to electric vehicles

Drove one yesterday. Nice car. Today we are driving a Genesis GV80. GV80 on paper looks good with massage seats, power rear curtains, better warranty, less money. We will see!
Update. The GV80 is jam packed with features there’s no doubt about it. They did a good job on a new vehicle. It’s going to take a lot of business from the competitor. However we are now negotiating on a new order XC90. They are simplified and tasteful. The GV80 is too over the top and has so many technology touches that could break or malfunction. Also I’ve heard terrible stories already on resale value. The Volvo just suited our taste as very classy and well thought out.

I love,love my 2018 XC90.....my 4th Volvo only thing i kinda frown on is the take off power lags though it will catch right up but compared to the VW Atlas i had prior definitely huge difference in take off between the two other than that i have no problems with this SUV

My European 2020 Xc90 is a B5, 2liter engine with battery (mild hybrid) - the US market seems to be very behind.

Under the hood of the T8 is another surprise: the internal combustion engine no longer features a supercharger. It cost me $1450.00 to change the passenger side mirror at the Volvo dealership. It charged 3 hrs of labor cost.
I still have my 2005 xc90 and have a new xc60. I just love it so much and it's honestly a f'ing workhorse.
I can move almost anything in it and it's got low miles and is just my bad ass baby!
Someday I might pass her onto someone else, but until then, I'll love it and continue to hold her in high esteem.

@@Cloud007. I didn't really set out to have 2 of them. I bought a 2018 Subaru crosstrek almost 3 years ago... (Got a great deal) and I had intended to sell my xc90, but that ru suuucked!!!
And so I kept my xc90 to do all the stuff I couldn't do with that ru. Then my speedometer and a couple other things on my display went out on the 90 and I didn't feel good about selling her after I got my 60 without fixing her first. So, as soon as I fix it... I will let someone else have her. I'm really not trying to be a 2 car single gal, it just kinda happened.
Thanks for asking though. 🙂 it is a great car and I've honestly repaired several things on it myself. This one is beyond me however and I'm not sure where I would take that panel for repairs. I heard it's about $1000.00 so, as soon as I have that sloshing around, I'll get it done.

@@anthonynguyen1701 I have a volvo mechanic that I follow around. And I also have been known to haunt the wrecking yards for parts that I am able to fix myself. I don't see tons of volvos but they are here.
Glove box is air cooled as well so your chocolate won’t melt. Not cold enough to chill a can drink but a nice touch.

Its a beautiful SUV that has aged well. The engine sound is the only letdown and Volvo should work on noise canceling it in the cabin.
uh my 2021 XC90 Inscription you cant hear anything inside the cabin so it might just be your car. I mean its incredibly quiet
@ it was present on all of the ones we drove at the dealership. Maybe they made a change when the model was refreshed recently? Ours is a 2017 T6

I hate the touch screen climate controls, it’s too much work to just do, when it’s just a quick 2 second action with analog controls.

The sad part of part of the 2022 xc90 is it doesn’t offer the google like the other models they won’t incorporate the google until they redesigned xc90
You mention the headlights are "adaptive". Is this a change? My headlights on my 2017 XC90 Inscription turn with the steering wheel, but are not "adaptive" as they are in Europe, where the beam is actually reshaped.

Looking forward to a review of the mid 2022 model year XC90 Recharge with its upgraded battery that should be going into production this month (November 2021). I see a preproduction XC60 Recharge with the new extended range battery has already been reviewed elsewhere.

I’m having serious issue with VOLVO XC 60 B6 mild hybrid
Massive heat blows out of side vents when I run the car for more than 30-40 minutes
The heat gets so hot that reaches temperature of 140-157 F at the same time it shows “ COOLING INFORTAINTMENT SYSTEM”
I complained this issue to Volvo but do not have solution as today 4/28/2022

Beautiful car, but why does it have Wired apple carplay / android auto? I expect full wireless at this price point. Luxury should mean better everything than mid-priced cars.

Volvo cars are beautiful and luxurious. I would buy one if not for two
factors: (1) Volvo is owned by a Chinese company (Geely Holdings); and
(2) Volvo restricts it's top speed to 113 mph. I will not spend 50K + on a car with zero speed reserve when passing on a mountainous two-lane. In 2021 I expect any 50K car to reach 150 mph.
In Europe the top speed is not restricted;)

It's a really nice vehicle although it doesn't come with the legendary 5 cylinder engines anymore, the only reason I'd buy a Volvo is for its 5 cylinder engines, no post 2016 Volvo's have a 5 cylinder engine....

With a supercharger and a turbo, you get better power and better gas mileage than a 5 cylinder. The newer ones are just better.

I’ve ordered my inscription pro model T8 for collection in September. Will this mean it’s the 2021 version or the 2022 version? I hope the diamond cut driving mode scroller button is still on it. Can’t wait to take delivery-been waiting nearly 3 months and I’m trading in my XC40 diesel
At least here in the u.s, all the models have switched to 2022 model year
On the contrary, I believe the XC90 is no longer worth purchasing. (Yet it is still worth a lease. This is due to the fact that next year the XC90 gets the redesign and it's value will drop significantly as a used vehicle if bought)
Canadian here. I opted to buy a 2022 XC90 T6 inscription. The 2023 will undoubtedly cost more. In Canada with the upcoming luxury tax that will very likely apply to a loaded up 2023 model, the depreciation will be more than offset by avoiding the added taxes and increased MSRP. If a person is able to pay cash and avoid any interest on a 2022 XC90 then this would be a great year to purchase.

There ruined it slighty! ( Like the leather wrapped key fob, and that drive mode selector, the exhaust in the T8/Recharge Models....)
What is the light mode that gets the lights to flash like that?
Seems to me that these changes like no leather on the key, no visible exhaust tips, no metal drive selector roller are to cut corners and save money on their end but still charge the customer the same price.
Indeed, I am glad I have the MY 2016. I would really hate to lose the exhausts and the drive mode roller. Bad choice of Volvo to remove those.

See that mess on the touch screen. That's why Mazda stopped doing the touch screen, such a nicer look. Not a fan of touch screens in cars to be honest. They get unsightly.
You should put it in Dynamic mode for the 0-60 test. That is pretty zippy.
For over $68,000, it lacks a lot of features, power folding rear seats for example, and the lack of cabin storage for phone placement and drink holders, its over priced. The cabin noise at 55 decibels is what the Hyundai Palisade came in at and had more features for thousands less.
Power folding rear seats are usually slow. I find some power options to be overrated and inefficient. Could the XC90 be quieter? Yes.
Where’s the SPA2 platform for 2022?
It's delayed for at least one more year. Maybe two.
