When the engine hits the rev limiter it kinda sounds like the V8 engines that are in Lexus’s F cars like the RCF and even though it’s not considered an F car by name the LC500 as well!, and other F cars that have the 5.0liter N/A V8, I would definitely take this over the new RS5 for pure sound 🤷🏾♂️🤓

Your V8 RS5 sounds amazing! I've driven the new RS5 and it's faster but missing that "soul"....so sad they chose a 6 cylinder turbo engine :( for the newest model. It's not always about speed and I think automotive companies/people forget about that.

Great sounding car but all sound compared to the new V6. Audi managed to get more out of the new V6 but had to compromise on the sound a bit due to regulations.

Yoran Kremer Actually the first gen R8 had a 4.2 V8 with 420hp but this one is a 4.2 with 450 hp.
I think those engines were improved in 2012 or 2013 with de RS5 remodelation
Yes, its the same engine. But it has 450hp instead of 420hp. Audi modified it in the 2010 RS5/RS4.
As far as i know, its also the same engine like the 2006 RS4.

@@Mische2k That's a modification of the 4.2 V8 of the S4/S6/S8 from 1998-2001 (I own an S6 of that generation, "only" 340 hp), which is a modification of the previous 4.2 V8 that delivered 290 hp. Long story bro^^
