I’ve worked for 10 years meeting govt departments, they just keep saying they all evolved from wild types.
Females produce the follicles for the next season in summer
Hotter you keep them the shorter the window
Some produce before they shed, but only have one litter. After they shed makes can have up to 10 litters. My easterns go down to 4C
Wow I didn’t know you could do that low for Easterns.
@@blazinbluetongues where I live it gets to -4C. I have wild blueys living in the bush and my back yard. Admittedly the wild ones find warmer underground hiding places to brumate.
Very good to know! I will try dropping mine even more next year! I only hit around 60°f this brumation. NSW type.
Great show
Thanks Roger! I’m glad you enjoyed it. Definitely gets me thinking more in depth after each one. Learning something from each one
Some research being done suggests that the males as in females have a pre set number of follicles and sperm reservoir. The more you use the male on one female the less you can do.
Heck ya you were able to get an Australian breeder on! I recently (maybe a couple months ago) found lizard morphs and have watched a few of his videos! It was awesome to sit and listen to the morphs/het talk. Genes is something I haven't looked into as I know they are far from my reach lol. Great podcast! Also want to note, I was thrilled to see some blue tongues finally! Even if it is just a couple I think it is awesome for a breeder to show off what they have or are working with!
Luke’s a great guy. Hoping to get a variety of the Australian breeders on. Lot of great breeders there
