CLIP DESCRIPTION:
The crew tries to escape an alien inside a shaft.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Two centuries after Ellen Ripley's death, doctors aboard the space station Auriga clone her using a blood sample taken from Fiorna 161, in hopes of harvesting the queen embryo that was incubating inside of her when she was trapped on the remote penal planet. Finally succeeding after numerous attempts, they remove the alien and repair the clone for further study. Before long, the Ripley clone has gained consciousness, and displays superhuman capabilities that suggest it possesses alien DNA. When Ripley discovers that General Perez (Dan Hedaya) is keeping the queen in a heavily fortified room of the space station, she warns the military man and his scientists that the creature cannot be contained no matter how hard they try. Meanwhile, General Perez has hired a crew of space pirates to deliver the cryogenically frozen bodies of another ship to the Auriga so they can be used to breed more aliens. The leader of the pirates is Johner (Ron Perlman), a gruff mercenary who engages Ripley to no avail. When Call (Winona Ryder), one of Johner's crewmembers, admits that she was sent to assassinate Ripley, General Perez attempts to have the pirates executed. The result is a tense standoff between the pirates and the military men, with the aliens causing havoc after breaking free of their containment cells. Attempting a daring escape, Ripley and the pirates discover the lab where she was cloned before being forced to swim through the mess hall, which has been submerged in water during the aliens' escape. Discovering a carefully guarded secret about Call's past, Ripley attempts to convince her to alter the Auruga's course, which was set to Earth when the ship went into emergency mode. With the fate of mankind hanging in the balance, Ripley is captured by the aliens and taken to their nest, where she comes face to face with the mutated results of the scientists' experiments.

When Ron Perlman did this scene he severely lacerated the back of his legs when he hung upside down to shoot the Xenomorph. Also when he had to surface quickly in the previous underwater scene he accidentally hit his head on one of the sprinkler heads and was knocked unconscious and fell to the bottom of the body of water. Thankfully safety divers rescued him before he drowned, so Ron Perlman nearly died making this film as well.
It’s amazing to think that they can actually die making movies good, but I hope that no one actually does.
What's the name of this performance again? I'm just curious.

Rip spider
fear the real things!
@@florinaschilean6143 The whole franchise deals with a terrifying, disgusting, parasitic species of quadrapeds that can literally kill anything in their path, and he is afraid of a Spider. Perfect joke
this isn't the perfect alien movie but Johner hanging upside down on a ladder shooting at an alien is one of the most badass scenes ever
I think me personally this is better then all the alien movies
Nope: when he climbs atop and shoots a spider is THE most badass scene!!!
@@horrorfreak9653 i respect that its a good movie I also think 3 gets to much hate
I think it may have been the best human kill on a xenomorph in the franchise.
Agreed
Xenomorph dodging bullets.
It’s a Neomorph.
Get it?
Victor H it “was” the one...till its head got blown off
Neomorph: your’e saying i can dodge bullets?
Xenomorpheus: I’m saying that when you are ready, you wont have to.
It also sings R&B...its a Ne-Yomorph
Ok ill leave now
i hate how i found that funny
Good one
1:56 He's probably more scared of the spider than the aliens XD
And How the hell did a spider get there?
Honestly what is strange even more is that the spider maybe honestly was since the dinsouroures time. 🕷
I mean most animals today were not when dinos were live but s spider maybe exctied even when dinsouroures were live.
In the novelization he definitely was because he would shake uncontrollably with fear whenever he saw a spider or a small bug.
"Earth?! I'd rather stay here with the things man!!!"
@@Samuello2024 they're *from* space.
Johner shooting the spider still makes me laugh to this day.
Earlier in the movie complains about wanting ammo😂
Same lol
He shot the spider cause it was carrying a queen.
That's the cast from "the city of the lost children". Great actors.
anim3z4u. you mean xenomorth not spider right
super preditor it was the spider at 1:57 besides facehuggers dont empregnate xenomorphs its their own kind
Animez4u - Dear sweet baby aliens... it's hard to image a spider drone, let alone a queen.
AW HELL NAW.
thats iconic, ron pearlman shooting a spider right on the web
Only because it's Ron Perlman.
That xenomorph knows how to dodge
Screw you
either that, or they learned how to shoot by learning from a storm trooper.
AlienCommander what you mean is they learned how not to shoot
It trained with Mister Piccolo
Balorak146 It makes more progress in 1 movie than Gohan in 2 seasons lol
Still one of my favorite scenes from any of the Alien movies. Ron Perlman hanging upside down, shooting guns akimbo, and screaming "Die, motherf#@&er!" is just awesome!
Also, Ron Perlman would make a great live-action 40k Space Marine.
Even the CG from 97 still holds up pretty well even to this day.
@Stevo Yah
And since the xenomorphs are glossy it just works
The only CGI used was when the xeno was jumping from the water and when it first started climbing. Everything else was puppets.
Not the acid tho
No, it doesn't.

Who knew an Xenomorph trained in the ways of the matrix...
However flawed this movie was, you cant say that it didnt have great action and characters you actually liked…johner, vriese and christy were all badass
Pervus was cool too
Johner is like the Patrick Star in the Alien franchise.
Yep. I can understand the hate this movie gets; it's messy and has lots of flaws and goofy moments... but I could never hate it, because it's so badass and stylish, that I always have a blast whenever I rewatch it.
I don't give a damn what critics say - this movie still rocks!
Better than Prometheus and the AVP movies. I love the whole "This isn't Ripley it's a different character" theme.

I know right? People just were too bashful by comparing it to the first two alien films. This movie is by far the most fun alien sequel to date after Aliens

I love how he shot the spider even though there was no reason to do that
Men, this movie had some badass characters.
I love the relationship between Johner and clone Ripley. I think they like each other. Also, i believe Johner deserves his own movie
"I think they like each other." Though your comment is very interesting and, in fact, somewhat even good, still, where did you get that from? They genuinely clashed. She attacked and threatened him more than once over the course of this single movie. What you say applies much more to her relationship with Call, actually the most positive one she has. With Johner, it was more along the lines of neutral-passive-hostile most of the time. She didn't really gotten along with him from the start and continued to do so for most of the movie simply because Call didn't too. Though they seem to have become more friendly in the end, after surviving all this together, so there is hope if he manages to mantain it. "Also, i believe Johner deserves his own movie" In that one, I whole-heartedly agree, though. I think the whole gang deserves it.
Yeah, umm, if Johner were to get in Clone Ripley’s walls, his meat would be melted. The majority of her organs, fluids, and the like are mostly acidic. Plus, a untimely nut could result in Johner losing his head since this Ripley has xenomorph like behavior.
@@giovannyalpizar5351 Well, that too. Good observation.
@@SuperVladdrakula I believe she was flirting with him most of the time. They did clash, but, it turned into something else. Of course, that is subjective. They ended up respecting each other.PD: Sorry the time it took me to write back hahahah.
@@guzgonzalez6982 "I believe she was flirting with him most of the time." That's partially true, though. "They ended up respecting each other." Well, that is true too. After going through fire-and-water (and Xenomorphs) together, who wouldn't? He was notably happy when she came back in the end. "Sorry the time it took me to write back hahahah." No problem, I appreciate constructive comment any time. Or the one that tries to be any original and doesn't unload trash on this remarkably-not-so-bad movie.
0:46 Ultra instinct Xenomorph
1:56 me with guns
Alien Resurrection is underrated
1:35 love the heroic tuba cue
Yeah as much as this movie is mid. I do enjoy rewatching scenes. And would not mind seeing Ron Perlman in another Alien film as a mercenary lol
0:50 Ya know, if they could spit acid in this scene....why didn't they do that in clip 1/5 and just bust out of the cells??
It looked like the acid he spat was way less potent given that the man didn't develop a smoldering crater of a head.
I dont think acids work on glass. The typical ones at least
The acid they spat was far less potent. If it was capable of melting through steel like it did with the little Xeno, that black guy's head would've been burned to the bone in seconds.
Probably weren't strong enough to melt the heavy metal inside the cell
This probably use to weakened it's prey
I fuckin LOVE this movie and this scene in particular.
Am I the only one who actually liked this movie?
i loved it too.......... i was at the theatre and i think everyone did as well....... i just think hardcore alien fans want to pretend they hate it because it would be 'uncool'. Alien 3 and Alien Ressurection are looking like great films compared to the crap these days.
Yes.
Nope...me too
My favorite out of them
Nope
I enjoy it very much
I felt so bad for Vriess during this scene 😭 He must have felt like such a burden for making Christie carry him and then even more when he had to sacrifice himself.

One of the reasons Blade 2 is my favorite in the Series
Wait, so now they can spit acid? If that's the case why did the xenomorphs have to kill one of their own earlier to use the acid blood to escape from the holding pen? Don't think about this movie too much
From what i gather arguing as kids, someone told me these were aqua aliens lol.
Volume I think. It's enough to damage a face but maybe not the floor not without being caught
1:41 most badass part and my favorite part of the hole movie
throwing grenade in the escape pods and underwater grende launch on the eggs are more badass
That alien dodge the bullets like a kung fu.
this movie is so underated it's unreal and due to the director it has a quirky sense of humour. Alien 3 was a bit of a disaster, it had its moments but it was just dull, this film is never dull
I couldn't agree more
naw alien 3 was cold and ruthless; ressurection was polar opposite but irnoically received criticsm for being corny and too goofy. even though both films won't ever match alien and aliens, these two did its part.
Yep. Resurrection is far superior to Alien 3 imo.
Alien 3 is just depressing. The colour pallet is all dull browns and greens. The characters are incredibly boring, just a bunch of bald criminals that all look the same, hardly a distinguishable characteristic between them. The only character that is likeable (besides Ripley) is Clemens(Charles Dance) and they kill him off just as you start to warm to him.
Terrible movie.
Alien Resurrection may have tons of problems, but it has a really likeable cast of characters, an easy going plot and there's never a dull moment.
@@ReservoirPunk "Alien 3 is just depressing. The colour pallet is all dull browns and greens." Well, that's kinda the point so... nothing surprising about that. "The only character that is likeable (besides Ripley) is Clemens(Charles Dance) and they kill him off just as you start to warm to him. Terrible movie." While I wouldn't call it a "terrible" movie, as such, I do agree that killing Clemens there was indeed one of the most terrible things. "The characters are incredibly boring, just a bunch of bald criminals that all look the same, hardly a distinguishable characteristic between them." Well, I wouldn't put it so harshly. The way they heroically battled the "dragon". Or tried to. I think deserves recognition and respect, especially considering it's indeed "just a bunch of bald criminals" you wouldn't espect such heroism and self-sacrifice from. I like the ongoing message that, in the end, the so-called criminals turned out to be a much more decent people than those in-law, WY. At least, they tried really hard to kill the Xenomorph, with no regard for themselves, while WY just wanted to get whatever it wants at the expense of everything. I think they're really likeable and truly heroic if you look hard enough, in stark contrast to the truly devilish WY, plus, they too have some cool and funny interactions. Also, if you at least remotely care about Ripley herself, you should at least give them credit for being those who supported her in her last battle against the creatures that destroyed her life, meaning both, Xenomorphs _and_ WY. And one of them, Morse, even literally supported her in her final moments and breaths, even though WY most likely would've opted to just kill him for that. And never once did that thought crossed his mind, never once this prospect scared him, or it just didn't matter anymore. By that time, he was so hell-bent on helping Ripley to the bitter end, he must've really came to respect her after all they've been through together, and this is probably the only thing that mattered by that desperate point. In the end, he wasn't thinking about saving himself for a second, he was thinking about helping her at all cost, they already shot his leg pretty bad for it, still, it didn't sway him a bit. True valiant effort. Especially warming is the fact that he was one of the most hostile, at least vocally, to her thoughout the whole ordeal. In the very end, he was the one to stand firmly by her side, with no questions asked, whatever it might cost him personally. Aaron taking her side in the lastest moment and attacking and wounding Weyland is also very powerful and significant moment too. At least, Ripley had people that supported her to the very end right until she died. I think it's very important. If you didn't see it, you really should rewatch and see it, I think it's beautful and doesn't get enough recognition. Morse, as a bare minumum, deserves a monument of bravery and selflesness in the face of near certain death. I really can't understand, why didn't they kill him, he costed them a Xenomorph queen.
Alien 3 depresses me because there’s a good movie buried in there somewhere. Unfortunately the definitive version of the film will never exist.
I love the part when the spider got shot. the dude was scared of it so he shot it. love it!!!

😆
The story in this movie was sorta flunked and boring but the action kept it alive and the effects were amazing in some moments like this even though it's old. You have to give the movie credit on some scenes.
Exactly, it's just a fun, visually stunning roller-coaster ride
Exactly why I enjoy it more than Alien 3 and it’s about the same level as AVP for me.
1:56 how did this spider on spaceship? It from earth? Damn, spiders always everywhere!
and its unlikely any flies in the middle of space etc but yes they can be pests
You know he isnt dead, he can swim out of their and climb back up
Among many things that bothered me about this movie was that the xenomorph spits acid........It doesn't have acid saliva, it only has acid blood!!!!! 🤦♂️
One of my favorite parts of this film is the crew of the Betty. Anyone familiar with the work of this film's writer Joss Whedon can see corollaries between each crew member of the Betty and of Serenity from Firefly: Elgyn = Mal, Christie = Zoe, Johner = Jane, Vriess = Wash, Cal = Kaylee, HIllard = Inara. Simon, River, and Book aren't accounted for because they weren't original crew members of Serenity, just passengers picked up in Ep1, and thus do not have "Betty" counterparts.
I like this movie, why does it get so much hate?
Probably because it’s incredibly stupid. I have seen it many times and find it entertaining but it really is pretty farcical.
Only 90's kids likes it

I don't get the hate for this movie. It's a great horror action movie with a lot of great sequences. Yeah, it's not the classic that Alien was, nor the mega action thriller that Aliens was. Those are pretty high bars to reach. This (and Alien 3) were still pretty good movies.

So... since when can aliens spit acid?
+53bload53 As of this movie. xD
+53bload53
Since Alien 3
Very likely due to the mix with human DNA.
actually, there are over 50 types of ailiens and this one is called a acid spitter
Wait...So they didn't have to team kill?
If aliens can spit acid, why did they kill the other drone when in the cage?
Because the amount of spit is not enough.
You're right, it makes absolutely no sense. There were quite some moments throughout all three previous films where spitting acid would've come in handy for the aliens, yet they didn't. Just think of the one trying to get into the APC after the initial encounter in Aliens, to name just one.
