I have been struggling for years to figure out how to keep things together. I have adhd and NOTHING has been helping. I’ve always been just putting out fires or forgetting things. I’m going to try this system out. Thanks so much! New subscriber. 😊👍
Great video. I have been watching planner videos for a long time and I have never seen a video with this much content on a planner and how to use it. This helps me to decide if I need to use a monthly, weekly or daily layout. There are several take aways from your descriptions. Honestly this video is amazing. Thanks for sharing.
I really love this channel! I've been using planners since i was 16 (I'm now 51 and a half). This was a great description of the nuts and bolts of planning, thank you. I am neither a wife nor a mother, but i always find lots of inspiration from you. Much love xxx
Very clear explanation, and good for those of us who love the idea of a planner but tend to be a little scattered! Best takeaways: Plan ahead of time the specific details needed for an event or appointment, and check your planner a few times a day. Both of those tips make total sense and are essential, yet don’t come naturally to some of us. 😉 Good stuff!
Thank you so much for your specific comment, these help me so much know whether I am hitting the topics that are helpful and sought after. Happy planning!
This is the best video I’ve see. So informative. You explain everything so well and you don’t talk down to us. This journaling is new to a lot of us. It can be overwhelming. I appreciate it. Thanks. 👍🏼💕
Even though we are at opposite ends of the family spectrum, my children are grown and out of the home, much of what you share still applies. It is very important to "write it down." Ty for a great video.
Very detailed explanation about how to actually use a planner. Most people mostly only focus on the decorating aspect not the utilization of the planner.
I really enjoyed this video. I love the tip on checking in with my planner throughout the day since I find myself missing things that need to get done so this might help me. thanks!
I'm only halfway through the video writing this comment, and already I've learned more about WHY I need to plan than ever before. Saving for future reference.
@@AnnieSmithawifenmother I'm glad to hear that. Normally things don't resonate enough on UA-cam to like a video, AND subscribe but I did both here. Thank you for taking the time on this, definitely want to come back when I have more time to think on it. Happy Halloween :)
Thank you for this excellent video. I'm a seasoned planner but I enjoyed being reminded why I do it! I've posted your video in the planner group I belong to because it will really help new members.
Thank you so much for sharing my videos with others- I cannot express enough how much I appreciate that. Yes, the WHY is just as important as the HOW when it comes to planning, I think.
I absolutely love your videos! I have ADD and planning and organizing are very difficult tasks for me but you always explain things so that it makes sense to me and helps me think more clearly!! Thank you so much! I appreciate it!!!!! 😊
Such a great explanation for planning, I’d love to sit and share this with my adult daughter who cannot seem to get it together! THANK YOU FOR SHARING, I’m going to subscribe bc of this video!
Thank you so much for watching and subscribing, that means so much to me! Maybe you can lead by example with your daughter? Or buy her a cute planner? Or maybe she just needs to discover her path and it will work out soon.
Another very seasoned (40 years) planner here. Great reminder of the basics and what we truly need our planners for. All the decor is nice, but is definitely just extra......excellent reset moment going into #OneBookJuly
I rarely have an event, so I put my reoccurring tasks and holidays in my electronic calendar on my cellphone and migrate them to daily pages on Sunday. I do have one page each week that I call my weekly dashboard. It is one page. It has a small monthly calendar which I highlight this week. It has my routine tracker and a section for tasks and a key for color coding. That's it. If I have an event, I either write it on the weekly dashboard under tasks, or a sticky if I haven't printed out that weekly dashboard. ... GASP! Yes! I use rings! I love the flexibility of being able to move pages around. Maybe if I had my system more refined, I'd use a bound or TN, but I like having the pages formatted ahead of time. It's a time saver. And making my own downloadable certainly saves money. I use a cheap cover and at the end of the year or if it wears out, I use it as my storage binder. I sew. So I make a beautiful cover to slip my rings into for some protection. One more thing, instead of scheduling tasks on a weekly basis, I keep an action list of things I'd like to get done this month and a futures list for things past 30 days. On Sunday I migrate the top 5-10 from the actions list to my weekly dashboard. I only move a task to my daily page if I've made some progress on that task. This eliminates a lot of migration. I only add new tasks to the weekly dashboard or actions or futures list. This keeps my daily pages less cluttered. ❤🌅🌵
This was fabulous! I’ve been in some kind of rut where I just randomly stop using my planner and this made me realize it didn’t have to be perfect but I need to stop throwing it to the side and leave my perfectionism out of it lol! I really like the part where you said to not worry that everything doesn’t have to have a check mark beside it sometimes my ocd takes over 😂😂great video!
Thank you for sharing this simple set up of calendar and a planner. It encourage me to pick up this daily routine for better planning my day. This video is very helpful. You have explained very clearly. Thank you and God bless you and your family.
Thank you! I am using my son’s name, but I am looking for that planner peace that many planner people have been looking for. Maybe this is what I am looking for, something that shows the very basics in planning first (the cake) then the pretty things (the icing) will follow in it’s own time and place. Looking ahead and planning for future things is like working with money, I never got it in school. Your kids are so fortunate to have a mother who is looking out for family...
Thank you so much for watching! I truly want to help us USE our planners. I love a decorated planner as much as the next person, but it has to function for me ❤️
Hey! I'm a young homeschooling mom of 3. I recently came across your planner series and I love it! I'm someone who always used only a calendar for everything. It was on my kitchen wall and i kept all our appointments, etc on there. I would make sticky notes for daily tasks and throw them out when I was done but I always wanted a planner... however I never figured out how to best use it and they would always go to waste. I recently started getting back into it and I'm so glad I came across your channel. This content is gold! Great work!
Well! Way to go with this video! Like others I agree: one of the best rundowns of WHAT planning is and WHY you'd want to do it. Even though I'm a long-time planner, I appreciate and concise and detailed description. I'm a bullet journal-er, but the basic ideas and concepts are all the same (and I used a rings system for work for years). My only quibble is this: while I loved your title, it isn't really indicative of the content. Something more like Learn to be a Productivity Ninja for Beginners would be closer. Anyway, I'm impressed and I'm subscribed!
What other things do you put in your planner? I like the idea of having everything in one place, or planner. I have different things on different clip boards. (Address and phone numbers, grocery lists at different stores, meal planning, my spiritual planner, bills to pay etc. etc. Your video gave me the idea to put it all in one planner with dash boards in between. I have used planners ever since I was 8 or 9 years old. I am soon to be 77 years old.👍 Looking forward to more of your videos.❤️👵🏻🐶
I liked your explanation on how you plan Father's Day. But how do you plan events like going on vacation? Do you start on a notes page with all the tasks and then schedule. I'm worried about missing a step, like decorating for Father's Day or holding the mail whilst going on vacation. With all the tasks all over the calendar how do you keep track of all them as I sometimes start planning for vacations a year a head. I'd like to see Joyce Meyer in February. I need to start saving for airfare, hotel, ground transportation, food, souvenirs, etc. I need to plan for closing up my house, what to pack... the lists go on and on. A video on how you hand these kinds of more advanced planning events would be much appreciated. ❤🌅🌵
Great video! I often get sidetracked with making my planners look "cute" and I forget the true purpose. This was a great refresher video. :) Thank you! PS - Where so you get the yellow fountain pen? Thanks :)
I think we all fall into the "cute trap" hahaha. I got the yellow Lamy Safari fountain pen from Amazon. I thought I had it linked in my Amazon favorites; I'll be sure to double check and add it if it isn't. :)
Love your videos. Can you tell me what size your TN is please? It's hard to tell in the video. I've had a difficult time trying to find what size works for me. It's hard when you cant hold them before buying, since they're mostly only available online.
I tried the PlannerPerfect link you provided for a 20% discount, but it was still full price. Is there a special code. I’m ordering the 12 month planner/calendar with extra options.
