    Awesome content!!! Hardly anyone goes over these things and if they do, it's mixed into a 45 min video where they are giving plugs and links for every single piece of paper in there planner. So thank you for sharing this wisdom, it's very helpful to newbies like me! 👍😉🤍

    I look at my planner with my first cup of ☕️, about 10 minutes after I get up. It lays on my end of kitchen table where I am most of my time. (I Am in a wheelchair, and it is just my sweet hubby and myself. ) I am busy doing things all day, but do most from the table. (Folding laundry, cutting up veggies 🌶 🥒🥕🥦🥬🥔🌶🍊🍏🍎🍍🥑🥝etc. etc. I read, do my Bible study, write letters, do crafts etc. whatever I have written in my planner. I love my planner.❤️👵🏻🐶

    As a mom and Nana, I absolutely adore the sound of your children in the background, appreciate the “interruption”, and smile at the little fingers. No need to apologize-IMO.... the bottom of one of your journal entries you ask when you will get sleep again....LOL...my husband is amazed at how little I sleep and how well I function. My “baby” is 20 years old.........

    You have no idea how much I appreciate these videos! So many planner people assume everyone would know how to use a planner....and even though it's somewhat obvious, seeing how someone else uses it is so helpful and gives me better ideas of how to write things down etc. Thank you so much for sharing these!❤️

    I have a planner dedicated to writing everything I do everyday. Even dishes, or watching tv with my husband. It helps me to see all that I do get done everyday. Plus I plan on keeping it as a journal type thing of my daily life for my kids or grandkids.

    Annie, this was really helpful. I have planners. I write in them (sometimes) but I don't open them for days. I make appointments, write on whatever piece of paper is handy, then have no idea where it went and when my appointment is. I am trying to get better by writing my to do list on a blank page and insert in the week pages. I like the 3xtimes a day idea. Easy to remember. I would add a 4th for people who work outside the home (to look at it the night before in case there is an early morning meeting or a stop before work). I also need to find a place where I can leave my planner open and where I can have my early morning coffee and look over the day. Keeping it closed and sometimes in a basket isn't working. I like your videos because they are practical. Thank you, keep more coming, please!

    I definitely need these “newbie” planner videos as I’m just going to be starting my first planner and am completely lost. For instance, where do you write things down if you have the daily, weekly and monthly sections? What goes where? Things like that.

      I make my own sections or use sticky notes. This video is actually an older one of mine, my new ones would be really helpful to clarify how I plan and fit in these “sections”. ❤️

    I am loving this series! I’ve been using planners for years, but sometimes we get so lost and into what everyone else is doing, that we lose it’s functionality or realize it’s not suiting our needs at the moment. It’s nice to use these tips as reminders of how our planners can help us and not stress us.

    Great video! I do the same thing and think I know what I put in my planner and so don't look at it. Almost always this results in my missing something. I like the idea of prioritizing a minimum of three times and day and plan to implement that right away. Thanks for videos on the functional side of planning. I am very much reliant on my planner and always want ideas on how to improve its functionality.

    Thanks for the tip about the library. I decided to write down on a little sticky note Library stuff due and put it inside the front page of my calendar and then put the sticky note onto the week day it’s due. My daughter is the one who always seems to get late fees. Also going to figure out what to do to help with dinner meals instead of waiting and deciding that day what to make for dinner and then not have time if it’s a meat and frozen.

    Thank you so much for this series! I don’t know how busy moms do everything they do because I am a single person with no children to keep me busy but still i forget so much stuff I should have done or still need to do. An example, today I needed to go to the bank and I had 1 more thing to do afterwards. But after the bank I couldn’t remember what else I needed to do. And I do this often. So even though my stuff to do isn’t as time sensitive for me as it would be for you with all your responsibilities I still would like to make better use of my time. I am learning so much from watching your videos, thank you!

    Hi Annie! You seem so organized. This is my goal as opposed to spinning around or feeling lost and not getting things done. How does your planning suggestions compare to time blocking? Do you time block as well to make the most of your time? If you haven’t already, can you make a video discussing this topic? Thanks in advance. Grateful for finding for channel 🙏

    • @AnnieSmithawifenmother
      @AnnieSmithawifenmother  3 роки тому

      I have made a video about how I time block- did you see it yet? I don’t use that method to plan anymore, but it’s still a great way to organize your time so I always keep my old methods up on my channel. Plus, different seasons of life require different planning styles, I think.

    Hello Annie, I need help.. when I write all the things down in my planner, as you suggested, then I feel overwhelmed with endless lists of "things I need to do - ought to do - should do - wish to do". When I see all the things that need my attention, then I tell myself "I will never be able to accomplish even a fraction of those things" which is demotivating. Then I want to avoid the planner to avoid this feeling of defeat and it gets me into a bad cycle. Any help please???

    Hi Annie, I just recently discovered your videos. I have a question, what is the difference between a to-do list, notes, and a habit tracker? I’m a newbie to planning.

    • @AnnieSmithawifenmother
      @AnnieSmithawifenmother  4 роки тому +2

      Good question! A habit tracker usually has a little check box for you to mark something off daily, as you develop a habit. A to do list is a list of emails you need to write or items you need to accomplish. A note is any type of thought or note you have. Often they become a habit or a task later on. ❤️

    These are great videos, I watched all 3, twice ❤️ I’m still having a hard time understanding the concept because I haven’t used one yet but would you write appts and important dates, etc in the weekly area and monthly too? I guess I don’t know why these books come with so many date areas.

    • @Robin-px9rc
      @Robin-px9rc 5 років тому +1

      I think of monthly page as long term plans and weekly/daily page as short term. So events that won’t change (a birthday/holiday/enrollment deadline) I write in both. I write appointments in my monthly if I’m not in that month yet, then at the beginning of each month I add the appointments in the daily/weekly pages. If you end up changing the appointment, add a note when and with who you changed it (just Incase there ends up being a miscommunication of the change. Doctors offices, for instance, will charge a no show fee).

    • @AnnieSmithawifenmother
      @AnnieSmithawifenmother  5 років тому

      Thanks for watching ❤️ I often have appointments and important dates in the monthly and daily/weekly view. The monthly is a forward planning tool. Also a placeholder for the big things in life. But when it comes to the weekly or daily pages, that has to include the timed appointments and events as well as the daily tasks and work to be done for the day. So it ends up in both places, yes. Did that answer your question? Just let me know if not and I’ll try to expand my answer ☺️

    I also write downs tasks that I've done throughout the day that were not originally on my to do list. I'm new at staying home with my kids. I've been a nurse for so many years. Juggling work, marriage and the kids. But I still felt guilty when my to do list wasn't complete while my husband was out on the road busting his butt. I was so busy working and I thought staying at home would be a piece of cake. It's still a job. Time management is key!
