To be exact, Rome and Alexander's Macedonia did exist at the same time but Rome was really small back then. Literally only the city and some surrounding lands
@@Sovietrabbit2865 bro “if he hadn’t died at 33” timeline as in like do u know what alternate history is? Alexander had so much PLOT ARMOUR he survived so many assasination attempts If anything I’m saying that him living to like 45 is just so unrealistic this guy survived so much him dying at 33 isn’t really that weird is it not?
Here are some corrections 0:31 : the Macedonian empire collapsed after Alexander's death, so the part of Libya you're talking about was in the Macedonian empire after Alexander's conquests 5:32 : the goal was to take revenge for the Persian invasion of Greece more than a century ago 5:53 : Rome did exist when the Macedonia conquered Persia, however it was very insignificant as it only owned the city of Rome and it's neighbors weren't that much stronger

7:43 basically Turkmenistan is just North Korea just a little less extreme and without communism (this is a heavily oversimplified explanation but it gets the point across)
Achaemenids, Parthians, and then the Sassanids. The first were essentially the most famous, they were the ones that fought the Greeks but eventually lost to the Macedonians. They were also the biggest. The Parthians were originally a nomadic iranian related tribe who first served as a vassal state to the Seleucids. The Seleucids were essentially the Eastern half of Alexander the greats empire, and was founded by his general Selucis. However around the 200s and 100s bc the Seleucids suffered several military set backs. This allowed the parthians to take more and more land. Eventually they took control of most of the Persian heartland, while the seleucids survived as a small kingdom centered around modern Syria. Eventually the Parthians who were a nomadic people came into contact with the romans. During the battle of Cannea or was it Carrhea, I don't man they just sound so similar and there both huge defeats, the Roman consul known as Crassus was killed. We then leave parthia be for a while, during which time the romans became an Empire and the parthians struggled with rebellions until we reach the early 2nd century Ad. At this time parthia is in a horrible shape and the romans just captured Ctesiphon there capital city. This happens several times until finally their is a huge persian rebellion. Beginning in modern southwestern Iran they quickly took the capital and founded the sassanid empire. Now the sassanids were a lot more centralized then the parthians and launched countless attacks upon the roman east. They never really achieved much both sides were so strong they never gained more than a few cities. The 3rd century crisis roles around and Zenobia founded the Palmyrian empire in the roman east. For a few years they ally with the sassanids until the most underrated roman emperor of all, Aurelian destroys the Palmyrian empire and sets the Sassanids back to there traditional border. About a century and a half pass and the huns arrive. They fight some battles with the sassanids but they really just launch some raids. After another 50 years word arrives that the roman west had fallen. Not much happens until the rise of Justinian which sees to rome recounqeruing some of there former provinces. However things really pick up with the rise of the usurper Phocas. The sassanids had formed a military alliance with the former emperor and invaded with the supposed intent of placing one of the former emperors family members there but this was likely proven false when the usurper was deposed by Heraclius. For nearly two decades it appeared the sassanids would destroy the romans they had conquered several major roman cities and had even played siege to the Eastern Roman capital of constantinople. However they were turned back by heraclius and forced to sign a peace treaty. Only for the Rashidun caliphate to destroy the sassanids and beat the Eastern romans in the following few decades. The romans survived until 1453 but that is a short story for another time
"...a fragment written by the Greek poet Hesiod around 700 BC speaks of a Macedon, son of Zeus, a lover of horses who lived near Mount Olympus and Pieria. Such a mythical ancestor suggests inclusion within the broad family of Greek peoples. Two hundred years later...Darius campaigned in person in Thrace and Scythia. By about 500 BC he set up an inscription listing his subject peoples, ending with "countries which are across the sea." Another specified the "Scythians which are across the sea, Skudra, and the petasos-wearing Ionians." Skudra was probably Thrace...while the petasos was the distinctive Macedonian hat. Describing them as Ionians suggests that the Persians saw them as akin to the Greek cities of Asia and Greece itself." -- Adrian Goldsworthy, Philip and Alexander: Kings and Conquerors (New York: Basic Books, 2020), 62-63.
Correction... Alexander DIDN'T conquer the othe greek cities. He just made them by force his allies for his campaign. They continued to have their own governments and armies. The empty map spaces like Sparta, are areas that refused to ally with Alexander.
Was looking at your Empire videos and I have a question: Have you ever considered having the default country and simply a faint outline of what it will look like when done on the thumbnail? Rather than having the finished result on the thumbnail and spoiling any sense of mystery of what you will do? Just a suggestion.

In reality, if Alexander hadn't died at age 33, he had already planned his next moves: a conquest of the Arabian kingdoms and the Carthaginian Empire.
In our timeline he had so much plot armour
Out of 100 timelines our timeline probably had him live the longest
