changing the parts makes it not a swap, that's why. lol upgrading the motherboard means changing the PSU, and most likely the cooler which was used in a case that was designed to make it efficient enough for its other cheap parts. that's half of your internals changed off the bat. nothing about that is case swapping, it's just building and part harvesting.
Thank you. Wanted to upgrade my Pavillion Gaming Desktop from a GTX 1650 super to a RTX 3060. And a big piece of advice- get a case with lots of pre-installed fans. I got a 109 dollar MUSETEX case with 6 pre-installed RGB fans and a glass side panel, which I will be using to fit my dual fan MSI 3060 edit: you need a case with a lot of preinstalled fans because the pavillion gaming desktop comes with 3 fans- however 1 is a cpu cooler and one is a PSU fan which only turns on when it needs to, so technically you only have one fan. it can get REALLY hot in that little space
3:48 No you can not "do whatever you want" I mean you can, but if you are running 2 sticks of RAM you should be checking your motherboard and putting them in the proper 2 slots for dual channel capabilities. This arrangement is almost never with the 2 sticks side by side, hence why you see people stagger them
Have been wanting to upgrade my exact same PC as yours for a while and have always been shot down by everyone saying that it wasn't possible. With your video now I can finally upgrade it! Came across this video just from looking for ways to upgrade the this PC this year, wish I found this video two years ago.
Great video Here's some pointers though; big one is not to touch the cpu pins, hold it by its sides as you can damage the pins and could render it useless. i would ground myself (remove static electricity) from myself before dealing computers, its not necessary but it definitely is a good thing to do just in case, you can ground yourself by touching a plugged in, but not turned on powersupply or using an anti-static bracelet. also the thermaltake cooler you have has had some bad rap for being a bad cooler, but for a ryzen 5 5600g (with its igpu disabled) it should hande it fine with good enough airflow. the 750 watt power supply is a bit overkill especially with a 1650 super (expected powedraw of your system is around 200) but its always nice to future proof with a good quality and wattage psu so no real problem there but overall if it works it works. so you did a great job and its a real cool mod you did (also i have a 5600g 1660S version of that same pavilion) lol
also, the power supply sucks in heat from the big fan at the bottom and throws it out facing out the way with the power cord socket faces. they usually have their own isolated cooling so facing down is what you should do, as if its facing up it can suck in some hot air from the case which is not ideal
With the 1660 s , are you running it off a 400 watt power supply? I want to install the msi 1660 s 6gb that require 450 and im not sure if i should do all this or will it run with the 400 watt?

Thank you for the inspiration to do that case switch resp. little new built. Did it to my TG01-2702ng (AMD Ryzen 5700G and RTX 3060ti) and everything worked fine. I certainly couldn't use the same parts you did, because of my different HP model, but the basic of the stock list with CPU, Mainboard, PSU, CPU cooler and case was the same. (Thermal compount came with my CPU cooler) I was very sceptical about the 1:1 change of the SSD, especially because of the windows license, first. But also that worked fine. Just two things for others who want to do it. Might be that these issues did only happen to me, but if you get them, perhaps it might help: 1) I use a pin code to log in to windows. When I started the "new" PC a message appeared at the log in screen, that I have to set a new PIN due to changed safety settings. In my case, the drivers for the wlan card on the mainboard weren't installed at that point, so the only way to set the new PIN was a LAN cable (so you should have some by hand, if you don't use one normally and use W-LAN only). 2) I chosed a MSI Mainboard for the new build. There you have two slots for SSDs. M2_1 and M2_2. The M2_2 slot would have fitted exactly the length of the SSD used in the HP, so i placed it there. With that placement the PC wasn't able to boot windows at every first start without going into BIOS first. It started in BIOS, I had to close it without changes and then it worked. Restarts were no problem. They worked without BIOS. After I searched some hours I came to the point, that either the slot M2_2 doesn't support the SSD or the slot isn't able to boot. After i changed it to M2_1, the boot to windows works fine. Thanks

hello can you rely with every you bought i got the pc HP ryzen but im only buying the panel the case and the and fan is that good?
You will need a new motherboard and power supply to do the swap
i've got the HP Pavilion 790-0504NG and rly need help how to install the new ssd. i have no clue how to do that, sitting in front of my opened pc and try to release the hdd, but it won't work....
Thank god you had sense to upgrade that crappy MB... I just rebuilt my old Acer pre build for my buddy and told him he must spend 200 dollars on a new MB, PSU and case lol! And you must stagger the Ram so its set up in dual channel! I recommend looking in the MB book to find out what Ram Channels you need to use!
Did the windows license transfer over?
I just got the Victus TG02, could do the same upgrade/swap as this?
how did i put in hdd pls respond.
It goes in by the power supply. The little sliding trays
Really not a swap if you’re replacing literally almost everything smh. Just build one at that point
That's exactly what he did, just used the CPU & GPU. Not a case swap in any sense.
Love the vids I wouldn’t know anything about the hp pavilion if it weren’t for your vids
That is awesome to here. I am glad that it can help you out
is that mobo compatible with the ryzen 5 5600g with integrated graphics, i have this literally same pc other than the 5600g
So do I need a new motherboard if I want to switch cases?
Yes
Would the TG01-2003w be the same? I want to mirror what you did but can’t find anything but 0023w videos.
Hey I’ve got a hp pavilion gaming pc too it’s got a Ryzen 7 3700x with an rtx 2060 super and I’m planning on changing the case for better cooling and looks. I might have to change the mother board if so what motherboard do you recommend.
This one would work for you.

Did you end up doing it? Did the windows license transfer over?
Can you use any new gaming pc case like the Lian Li 011 dynamic? I've had my eye on that case.
Yea that would work for this swap
did you just plug in the SSD and boot up or did you format and do a fresh install of Windows?
Just plug n play. No need to reload windows as it’s still on the nvme in the motherboard
Hey I plan on copying this I have the same hp you had in the video how do I get windows to start up when I do all this
After you change the motherboard on this pc do you have to reinstall anything or is it plug and play
It should be plug n play. If you have more questions, join my discord
Do you have to change the motherboard when using this case and stuff?
What about the HDD or the SSD
