The track pad grew on me. Better than touching the screen all the time. No need to look because the trackpad has haptic feedback when you scroll over.
If it was like the older Lexii, where you can't touch the screen at all, it would suck. But I hate trying to do touchscreen stuff while driving, and the pad solves that.

The Lexus is a quality car. We have a 4Runner and a Rav4 and love them. However, as an old Mustang lover I would go with the 6-speed Mustang. If I wanted to go faster could just throw a small100hp Nitrous system on it. Even adding a turbo would still be way less than the Lexus. BTW had a 86 5.0 5-speed for 14 years and 160,000 miles. With a 100hp Nos system and basic mods it went low 13's easily on street tires.

I do love the new mustangs for price for performance, but man, they are not built well. I rented one in Hawaii, and literally was excited because when I got in the gears shifter was so loose I thought it was a stick at first, only to see no clutch pedal. Also, lol, the convertible top would not close over the back windows without human help, just poor design and execution. Fun factor was off the charts though.
