@@chazzthaspazz4475 the tire in the video is probably a 4 ply tire. Mine are 8 ply which of course means you will need longer tire bars (at least 24 inch) and I also bought a bead breaker from Amazon which is definitely a must have. All in all I struggled a bit with my 27/11/14 inch tires and it was cold out. Next time I would do this in the summer when you can leave the tires in the sun to soften up a bit. This method does work and I sometimes need an extra pair of hands. Also inflating the tires to seal the bead, I had to to go beyond the recommended limit of 32 psi but again it was cold out. Good luck.
Well done instructions, covering the most important, helpful points. Everything outside of the use of the Coats 220 was brilliant and sensible. The Coats 220 can be replaced with something a little less high tech, like a board used as a ramp against the sidewall and driven up by a truck, to get the bead broken off the rim. Great point Steve, to work on the shallow side of the rim, which means a lot less effort I guess. Thanks for the great video.
Great for basics. But how about a real world example with a new tire that spent 7 weeks on a boat crushed by other tires in the container? One that’s not perfectly shaped by years of mounting on a rim?
You sir, are a tired god! Now unless this was done with some fancy smoking mirrors or digital editing, that is not only the fastest but also the cleanest and made it look easy video of changing such a small and normally pain in the Royal @$$ Tire that I have ever witnessed in my entire life! That is sincerely a trait that not many possess in one that you as a man or simply just a person in general should take some significant Pride in possessing!!!! Ha hah!! No I'm just giving you a hard time. But seriously man that was honest to God seriously impressive. Those tires are as I stated above a royal pain in the @$$ and especially ones with inner tubes in them, now that you factored in that dilemma you've also got to contend with not poking or ripping a giant gash into that while you're trying to put the tire back on as well and it makes it just that much funner! Either way great work dude!
You can use a car jack to break beads aswell. And i dont know how you got that tire to slip on the rim like that must be like the town pumps box lol stretched!
One side is easier than the other. I just changed a tire after watching this, struggled for a few min to get the new one on....then flipped the wheel over and it just pushed into the tire by stepping on it. Dry, no soap or anything. Then you just spoon the other bead on and air it.
Where is the fantasy land at where you filmed this? Did you take the same tire on and off the rim a bunch of times before this or what? I've changed tons of ATV tires over the years and have NEVER had one come on and off anywhere near that easy, ever. And seating a bead without squeezing the tire or aerosol/fire....hahahahah yea right!!!! Thanks for showing us how easy we all want it to be I guess.
The tires on my kids 125 cc china atv was not anywhere that easy. I had two straps around the tire and the new tires would not even try to seat on the rim till i got the can of ether out.
For years I have wondered what that attachment was on my Coats 220 machine collecting dust in my home garage! Thanks!!
I know this video is over a year old but wanted to say thank you for the tutorial it made changing my ATV tires much easier following your tips.
Great demonstration of both the tire changing and sweatpants with cowboy boots.
You said with hand tools and first 1st thing you used was a bead breaker tool
You sure do make that look easy.
Great 👍
One of the best videos on how to change ATV tires manually. I am going to use your technique in the next couple of days when my new tires come in.
how did it workout? i just ordered 18” itp holeshot tires for my yfz wanting to do this

Vital information, I'm gonna try it, and I'm old, thanks much.
thanks for the vid, I have popped tires beads with wood clamps for all those that don't have bead breaking tools.

You are welcome. Go with God!
@@dekelsey1 same to you, merry christmas.
@@doi467 Merry Christmas and be safe.
A bottle back & the hitch on my truck is my go to, put a rag or two around the base to keep it from scratching the wheel & easy money 👌🏻
Great how to video, best one I have seen yet! Have to do this project myself shortly thanks for the advice!
This is the perfect UA-cam video. Who the hell gave this video thumbs down geez

Well done the gentleman looks like he knows what he’s doing
Literally the best tutorial out there for this
Nicely done - worked for me. Thanks for posting video
You make it look so easy!👍
u r a good teacher...ty very much
excellant demo, thank you!
Shallow side first, wide side second, thank you.
Great job!
Made it look easy!
Can we talk bout them boots for a minute...
We really should
Lmao i was thinking the same thing, all i could focus on was those sweet ass boots 😆
1. If I buy a set of tires do I get the boots free? 2. What are my color options?
Have you ever done a Tri moto atc tire ? Do you know if those are tubeless and if it’s a 2 sided rim or just one whole rim ?
That's the best. Thank you.
Great video. Well done. Wish I had that bead breaker!
Harbor Freight!!

Boy you sure make that look easy..
It's easy when you mount the same tire not as easy with brand new tires
Awesome video, thank you sir
The boots in the back are loud and in full effect. Moral support he says. Ain’t getting my kicks lubed !!
You did not mention anything about rotation?
muy buena explicación amigo. Saludos!

The soft tire just went right over the rim while mounting. Try that with a heavy lug rear tire.
doing a good job
Check out Boots over here. Love it!
It's a bead breaker.... Check princess auto for portable bead breaker. His is just attached to a machine, so yeah hand tool.
Informative, but who told dude those cowboy boots were a good choice ,,,,,😂😂😂😂
Nice
Ok now do it with 40" boggers lol good video
No one's gonna mention the rando on the barstool with the tucked-in Cowboy boots?!
I can't hear a word this guy is saying. That kids boots are too loud.

Now do a rear tire from a sport ATV. Like a YFZ450 or YFM700
I can’t even get my side of the tire on bruh everyone else shit slipping on mine not so much 😊
What if you have atv tires that aren’t flimsy pieces of shit?
Guess you'll have to call a man to help you lol.
Just don't get the girl in this video if your tires aren't as loose as your mom
try that with tsl vampires
That press is not a hand tool
idk what kind of tire that is but you ain't gonna use that little effort on my tires
Hand tools huh?
Bead was already broken before u started
Nice cowboy boots
Hilarious.. now do that with a brand new tire man......
Try this with a 6 ply XC style rear tire lol
That would take me an hour
That's why I like 3 wheelers. Only 3 hours vs 4 hour work on an ATV :)
Well this ain't changing it at home with nothing but hand tools.
"with hand tools" has a fkn break down machine. cmon man. i dont got a dam tire machine or a bead breaker...
"hand tools"
For the whiners talking about the tire machine. He is only using the bead breaker. You can get one for harbor freight for $50
I want to do it for free.
might as well pay someone to do it for you
Hate to break it to ya. But HAND TOOLS MEANS NO FUCKING MACHINES
My dads making me changing my 4 wheeler tire so
Liar. You used a tire machine
Wow that's not a hand tool
Your machine is NOT a and tool Steve.
Hand tools....
