Jerry Lacy and Nancy Barrett recreate their Dark Shadows characters at 2012 Festival

- Performed at the Dark Shadows Festival Weekend in Tarrytown, NY in July 2012. Nancy and Jerry recreate the roles of Carolyn Stoddard and Tony Peterson who encounter each other at the Blue Whale decades after their last meeting.

I will love Dark Shadows always
Nancy Barrette graduated from College High School in Bartlesville Oklahoma 5 years before I did. Imagine watching her on Dark Shadows while I was still in highschool. She got this part within a year of graduating.
What is even more fun to me, of course, was decades later around 2001, becoming friends with all those on Dark Shadows when I first talked to Kathryn Leigh Scott who ran Pomegranate Press about the Dark Shadows Tarot.
Jim Pierson gave me the entire series and said 'get with it's. They were even thinking about about putting a card in each episode in the DVD releases.
Did get a publisher and all the needed permissions to do the deck from Dan Curtis-each card included a frame of the series with a quote from the episode (with citation) that explained the meaning of the card.
Got a publisher. Jonathan Frid, David Selby, Kathryn Leigh Scott and Lara Parker we're all signing the cover card which was a picture of Collinwood. Would have taken them to the festivals to sell.
Unfortunately for me, Johnny Depp, way before he did the movie brought all the rights to Dark Shadows and when Dan Curtis died, Depp refused to work with anyone and would not allow anything to be published unless he got $$$. So, I could not give him his 'fair share' and Total Recall Press, the publisher did not want to give Depp money either.
The deck was featured in the Encyclopedia of Tarot Volume IV. And it was the only deck that critics actually were rather impressed by and commented on.
Oh well. Did get autographed photos of all the actors and sold them on eBay with the inscription 'Peace and Goodwill' and included a copy of their letters to prove they were original.
For those reading this, Big Finish Productions in the UK did radio dramas featuring all the original actors. Voices remained the same so those are rather enjoyable.
What a treat! Nancy and Jerry still have great chemistry. Very touching and heartwarming. Thanks, Belleroguy, for sharing this performance with all of us who couldn't be there in person.

Doing a deep Shadows dive after recent death of John Karlen and found this. Really well done. Nancy should have been a star, so talented.

Jerry Lacy had a pretty good history on "DARK SHADOWS",playing a straight role in the first season of the show,before taking on the fanatical "Rev Trask",and even playing a Deputy policeman in "HOUSE OF DARK SHADOWS" (1970)
Oops! In "House of Dark Shadows", Jerry played the clergyman who officiated at Carolyn's funeral.
Thank you-it was Dennis Patrick who played the Deputy Sheriff,Patrick played "Jason Maguire" during "Barnabas Collins" arrival in 1967.
Jerry did not play a deputy, he played a priest at Carolyn's funeral. George DiCenzo played the deputy.
Rev. Trask scared the crap out of me when i watched it as a kid.

I found it touching that the song they danced to at the end was very frequently played on the jukebox during scenes at The Blue Whale 🐋 - such a nice touch!
haha! I just found out this song had been retrospectively titled "No. 1 at the Blue Whale" on an album of Dark Shadows music.
Now *that* makes me smile!!

She looks good. From 10 to almost 60, I sure don’t the same. At 16 I had the Carolyn vibe. Don’t look bad for having 20 surgeries and the doc thought I was younger. Revived several times. Carolyn/Nancy was my hero at ten. She’s about 15 yrs older than me now and no doubt in much better shape. This is cool, but they should have been played Stairway to Heaven. Love Coni
As long as I have classic reruns of DS featuring Caroline at 20, I have plenty to jack off all over myself about.

I was only when when DS first aired. I used to watch it with my babysitter though. I've always loved it. Now that so many of the episodes are being put on UA-cam I am rewatching. I'm only up to episode 753 so I don't know this scene but I am so excited to watch the rest of the series. This performance was wonderful to watch. I feel like I've know these people my whole life... Lol. Well, in a way, I guess I have.

That big guy that Tony thought Carolyn was still with....everyone laughed. I thought..."who?" All I can think of is the guy who played "Adam." Do you know if that was what they were referring to?

I wish they had a place in l california and one in new york for actors. It would have a stage, and studio and library. maybe rooms you could stay in and a couple of other things. then actors can go there act make some film for youtube anytime they wanted. and now with computers you can have any type of background. Thats something I would aprove federal money being spent on.
