Winter is pretty tough and can be dangerous., but it has its rewards. The snow is beautiful and being out there alone is also a bonus. Never have to worry about getting a good campsite.
Great video! I went hot tent camping for the first time last weekend and it's definitely my new favorite way to camp. Tim's got himself quite the set up. Keep up the great work!
How were you NOT ice fishing that lake?! Beautiful spot and sweet set up, a 4" manual auger and a few jigging poles and it'd be perfect in my book. That Eskimo with the wood stove could be considered a residence.
Haha, that particular lake has some big northern pike along with some pretty decent bass fishing for the summer. I've gotta get into ice fishing...maybe some holes with a couple flag setups to watch from my tent.....
How the heck did I miss this one!😮 If I didn’t know better, I’d say that you’re on Big Island. Hey, I’ve got a good winter destination for your next adventure, Santanoni Preserve up in Newcomb. It’s a nice five mile hike into Newcomb Lake, not many camp there in the winter. I was going to do it this past year but never had the time, this year for sure!
Yeah, that tent was not mine and after trying it out. I won't own one. I see alot of people use them though so idk. I'd love to have a canvas tent to try! They look great!
Thanks for the tip Roy. I have to admit I havnt done much experimenting with being a ground dweller. I should do some more testing with different setups to find something that works for me. Maybe when I do stuff with my kids I can try.
Tim with the epic setup! Yes!😆
We gave him the trail name, "the engineer". Always innovating some way to one up the rest of us lol
That’s sweet Eskimo setup!!
The engineer! Haha
Love your adventures! I just don't think I could do winter camping! You all are brave!!

Gotta work out some of the issues, but once you do, it's great. I love winter camping in general. No people, no bugs, and just as beautiful as summer.
That's a nice table!
Haha 2 years after getting it from my wife and I'm working it into my setup for winter.
Get it AA crew!!
Winter camping is always more of a challenge. Great vid as always. Josh, Tim and Gray need more air time, they’re so dreamy!!
Oh yeah, the stars of the show for sure.

I agree, that Eskimo pop up with wood stove, I could survive all winter in the wood somewhere with that.

haha Idk how you missed this one. It was definately a good one :) I'm a bit biased on that, but I enjoyed watching it haha.
Nice winter trip. I have a Luxe Megahorn and it’s junk. Canvas is heavier but way better.

Looks cold
I dont think Tim felt that way. He never left the hot tent haha
Moving up to a 3.5" pad solved being uncomfortable on the ground for me. I got the Nemo Quasar. Thermarest makes the topo luxe which is a 4" pad

Almost had the first comment, but noooooo!

Finally the adventure got reposted!
Would you recommend a hammock hot tent from experience?
I'll know once I finally get a hammock hot tent haha
