Saw Nick and the Straightjackets last night; absolutely wonderful show - beautiful songs, incredible musicianship, lotsa laughs and an abundance of good feelings during very dark times.
Nick looks and sounds great here. The band members wearing masks reminds me of John Lennon's final public appearance in 1975 when he performed in New York the tribute to Lord Lew Grade. During his set, all members of the backing band wore latex masks on the backs of their heads. That's a good-looking shirt Nick is wearing too.
I think you got a better setlist of Nick>Los Straightjackets>Costello as woven through the night but Elvis & The Imposters were better than I thought it would be. Sacrilege! Nick opened for Elvis‽ BUT they wove through the night & no one gets younger. The road's tougher, people are older, vocals get harder. Buddy Guy shows were night after night but he's finally getting the creds he's been deserving since the '60s for example & as the best guitarist able to make you jolt up, spaz out of your seat trying to figure it out. At 87.
Old Nick Lowe trick the old straitjacket thing little bit too far. Or maybe it's because the band members keep quitting left and right I don't know the history this guy so please tell me. He just playing like two blocks from my house I figured you know maybe what the f***
