This guy is one of the very few that kept true Rock & Roll alive through the hair band & techno pop age. When his first EP dropped in 78-79 he BLEW everybody away with his raw-kick in the teeth delivery. Fools that are caught up in fretboard frenetics don't really appreciate the simplicity of his playing or the absolute mastery of what he does.
Agreed! Just watching this, the nuances and perfection are amazing.
We are very fortunate to have lived through this era of fantastic music.
This guy is real a legend.
When Dave Mustaine calls u a legend... love George Thorogood! I bet Dave could play some bad ass blues!!!
Both u guys are Legends!
@@capricorn2816 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I have seen George 7 times now in concert.
I totally agree.
Well said
One of the most amazing blues covers ever IMHO. whenever it is raining or im feeling depressed this is my go to song to bring things down. listening to his incredible guitar work just hits something in my brain that brings me right back up and back to business. he definitely blows away the original version and just makes it the only version you need to hear!
Nice
The saxophone was significant support in this instrumental. Love its completeness.
George gets a distinctive sound out of that Gibson. Love that slide.
I know man. He matches the tone of that sax almost excellently. He is such a good guitarist. Really big inspiration to get me back into playing!
You probably dont care but does anyone know a method to log back into an instagram account..?
I somehow forgot the account password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me.
@Maddux Donald Instablaster :)
New to this, I heard this song, or 3 seconds of it as I drove by a house, took me months of hardsleep and unconsentrated work due to the beat taking over my thoughts. 3 months later, a neighbor plays it and I ran to find out who it was. YES! Success finally. Now I sit at home alone bumping in the dark drinking away walking among clowds, engulfed by the beat......
A little late to comment but listen to Stevie ray Vaughans 1984 version
Same way I felt when I first heard it in the '80s. Im 56 now and it is still one of my favorites.
And a line to Go with it😊
Iam 48 been listening to this since I was 16. Playing it now
The kind of music that sues the soul ....2020 still rocking
Plus attorney fees.
soothes
“I hope that’s not the only thing that gets pulled off tonight!”
Right on George!
One of the greatest guitar players in the world.
Good but not that good, Steve vai, Joe satriani,Gary Moore, too many to mention
Simon Ladds, agree to disagree. Mark Knopfler is another one.
Stevie Ray Vaughan.😇
Rip Stevie.❤️
I agree. I have since the early 1980s
Def top 5
His slide is so beautiful its hard to explain .
Proof that a hollow body electric Gibson ES-125TDC CAN be used without uncontrollable feed back on stage. George is the man to pull it off.
no amount of money is too much to see a show like this
I saw him around 2009 sixty bucks I think. Nice venue too.
I agree, my wife and I went so many years ago in Newcastle Australia. Just awesome still one of the best nights
Saw him in Fort Bliss back in 94 or 95. No pyrotechnics, no fancy show, just pure, unbridled rock and roll.
@@phatminer I'm envious you saw him in Oz, I'm in Brissy & would kill to see them..👏👏🇦🇺🍷
@@sonjavandam1306 hope you get to see him soon, I want to take my son.
Thanks George
I loved him since, Bad To The Bone came out! Saw him in concert WONDERFUL PREFOMER
We almost got in to see you this night George, drove 200 miles and thought we could somehow get tickets...no such luck...man I'm pissed that we missed you that night! RIP Gut... we had some good times.
George is so talented, yet so humble, and that is refreshing. This is my fav cover
World greatest solo guitarist hand down
he isn’t a solo guitarist he will even tell u himself he can’t go out there alone and play
Man is absolutely incredible. Hard to imagine I've been following him for almost 50 years. Although this is a cover, it is one of my favorites. I was lucky to see him twice during his Live concert recording...Cincinnati Gardens.
This is a magical performance and I think it's the best live blues I've EVER heard and as I'm 72 now, I've heard a lot. George definately cuts the mustard 😀
Whoever put this one up thank you so much. Love it.
I remember George and the Delaware destroyers playing at the stone ballon in Newark Delaware when I was a kid. My dad took me to see them in Fairfax VA finally when I was 13. I absolutely love that slide guitar. This is my favorite remake of any song ever
I lived in Fairfax and went to see George at the Fairfax show....I’ve seen him 6 times at various shows.....George and his band were awesome. PLAY ON GEORGE !!!!!!!!
Bloody brilliant cover, one of the best arrangements. George's tapping with r/h fingers and the discordant sound effect of the solo personifies the tragedy of the sky. Again, bloody brilliant.
What an amazing live performer!
😇.,.. I ALWAYS come back to this clip!...💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
Man he could sing anything! Love this song and everything else he sings
ABSOLUTELY OUTFREAKIN STANDING!!!!
Remember George at Live Aid back on the day. To this day, He Stole the fookin show!!!
Yup
A real showman. A good guitarist, and fun!
As always bad to the bone and it's a 60 dollar gig
We need more of this. 2022 and BEYOND!!!
Gotta love George - shouting out to his "competition" Elvin Bishop and John Hammond
All
Rest in peace......dear buddy song for a friend of mine. Loving you in my heart!!!!!!!!!
I don't know where old Lonesome George ranks among other Blues musicians, but I love his playing and just his feel for what he's playing. Just awesome.
nobody can play that guitar like he can, he is so fucking sensitiv when he is playing, no matter what number it is, he is the bluesking in my world enyway. nice , so nice played
Love your music george throgood keep rocking
This show was about 8 or 9 days after I was born. George and the destroyers play my life's theme music. He is the first musician I ever remember hearing and actually have the music hit me in my soul. Every since I was a toddler and can remember.
Magic I feel this into my soul.
He is one of the greats I love his music
I have like George Thorogood all my life, born in 80

FOR ME THE BEST EVER!
George does such great slide work, and The Delaware Destroyers rule! :)
I'll never understand those who crap on George's slide work - he learned form some of the old slide players.
Love George's music always have.Got back intouch threw a commercial on tv now using his "It wasn't me " as background.

Gosh... if this guy keeps sliding the Gibson like he does, I could see him really making a name for himself someday.

WOW WOW

that man can roll.chuck berry influenced.
agreed, I think many, those rockin' before 'n' after Mr. Berry, have been influenced by his music in one way or another

I have heard many Renditions of the song played before but I have never heard a voice such as George Thorogood and the guitar play the steel guitar slide guitar whatever you want to call it it's kind of like that sexy leg you see in the window of the Christmas story you just can't look away you can't turn a year it's just so damn good that saxophone it's like that you wanted to hurry up and come up but you don't want to take away from Georgia so low but then again you don't give a damn cuz both are good it's kind of like a expensive dinner wendish comes and it's so damn Delicious but nothing was on its way and you wanted to hurry up but you don't want the experience you're experiencing now the end I think this is the greatest I know Manny won't disagree but it's my opinion plus he does this thing with the guitar that sounds like bullets ricocheted and that's what I called I called bullets it's badass plus that kid in the audience that look like he's cracked out of his mind just goes to show you what is being witnessed rock on George
