I just realized what an amazing editing job producing this great demo of the Flamma FX200 with so much variety of gear! Really gives players a cross section of what gear they might be playing. Definitely needs a coffee tip.
This is my first time checking out a Flamma pedal. This pedal has so many options and features. Timestamps are located in the description. My usual experience with Multi FX units goes like this: This thing is cool. It sounds awesome and has tons of effects and amp models. It sounds really good into my interface and I can make some good recordings with it. It works well direct to the PA. Cool feature to have when I need it. (Honeymoon phase is over) I want to go back to pedals now.
Wow!! I didn’t think I’d like this pedal but the functionality won me over. As you have said several times in the past, having too many options can be an issue (I know this applies to me i.e the Mustang I owned), however with this Flamma pedal, you can get to playing with a little set up. I really like how you can rearrange pedal chains to get the tones you want. At $399, I think this well priced for what you get. I would consider buying this when I get to the point where I’m recording more. Great detailed review Shane!!!🎸🎸🤙🏾🤙🏾😎
You can't go wrong with this one (or any of the new modellers.) The sound technology has advanced to a point that even the budget priced boxes are competing with the higher priced units now. I have the little MX5 which I am very happy with but that extra foot switch and the XLR outs on this FX200 are quite tempting.
I settled with Gig Performer, Scuffham and MidiGuitar2 on a laptop. I appreciate with Scuffham's S-Gear that it hasn't endless possibilities. It is so easy to get lost in programming sounds instead of playing the guitar. I am just into building an ultra light 2x10" speaker cabinet but it eats up my playing and rehearsing time. So be careful - with GAS in generell!
It’s been a little since I watched a vid of yours, I have to say your playing and technique has improved greatly since my last viewing, which In reality was not that long ago! So who’s been practicing then?😊
Processors / Modelers have come a long way ,I was looking at the Stomp XL but this might be a better fit for me , tones sound great , price is good and I’m diggin the pink , Thanks Shane
If i do my own preset do i need to add cab? I want use my own engl amp sound with some fx like delay, chorus, reverb etc. Is there a option to control my amp channel?
sound wise - what sounds better - Flamma fx200 vs Ampero mp-100? thanks I love my Korg a2 - easy to switch from bank to presets and toggle individual effects ( blocks). I simply want to be able to easily switch banks and toggle delay, reverb, chorus, and use the distortion from my amps in stereo. my korg is perfect for this AND I can bypass the entire rack and just get that great dry tone from the amps. I want easy switching of banks, presets and toggle of effects with great sound and portability and almost bought a headrush gigboard, mx5, then found the donner, then the ampero mp-100 which I really love...i actually bought the stomp, sounds great...not practical for me to use live...so it's down to the ampero mp-100 vs (and happy I JUST stumbled on the FLAMMA this morning) so, sound wise - what sounds better to everyone - Flamma fx200 vs Ampero mp-100? thanks
You can yes. You'll just need to turn off the cabinet IR and possibly the Amp IR if you want to retain the sound of the amp itself on the clean channel.
Nice review 👍 I want to ask about changing preset. On another review, he change preset from 52B to 46A, distortion to clean, but the distortion has tail after he pressed the switch to 46A… maybe delay, and it’s not cut, just seamles transition. Is that FX200 great feature? Or any other multieffects pedal in the price range can do that?? It’s like if MG30 using Scene mode, but this is changing preset! Wow 😍🔥
Dang...I am very impressed with the tones from these Flamma boxes. And great job on cranking out an excellent demo! Does this allow for scenes for each preset?
Yo, I was totally caught of guard with this product. Would you say it's worth the extra $50 over the MG 30? It sounds like with some dialing in they would basically be comparable but the Flamma has more amps while the MG 30 is more user friendly.
Im wondering if anyone can fill me in on the auto wah or envelope filters this unit has. I use Mu-Tron III and Tru-Tron units and i never can seem to find a processor like this that has any envelope filters that nail these sounds. Other than that im sold on this, hopefully this has what im looking for envelope wise. :-)
The Flamma has a heck of a lot of competition at the ~$400 price point. I think it scores points for having stereo XLR outputs, and the editor app seems good, as well. The amp models seem on par. Thanks for the demo.
its does have some pitfalls, the expression pedal must be calibrated each on/off cycle, or it leaves off where the pedal position is when you shut it off if that makes sense, you'll see, has other limitations that would have been simple enough to address, I/O recording is odd, it records everything, the tik tik of the rate clicker things of that nature, what you hear in headphones its recording, you can send to a stand alone I/O box to defeat this apparently, nothing that's set in stone, just simple oversights that might create more time or costs if you are using every single feature it has to offer, for the guy just using presets its all good for sure, which is prolly 75% of all users, plug and play.. like to hear it through a big clean tube amp, input headroom, this isn't a new issue, this is generally how effects work for those who do not understand effects like overdrive and distortion type effects, so some might call the headroom low, however its fairly common that ALL effects generally run better on low impedance pickups, the lower the better, otherwise your pickup is acting as a preamp, that's why the "dimarsz" super distortion are such high impedance, that's where they get the distortion, and why you can roll off and clean up.. some effects do offer more headroom for hi impedance pickups but you're not getting the best performance using a hi impedance pickup for this effect, think 4k is way mo betta for overdrive and so forth.. not trying to start a war of course everyone has their own thoughts on everything, I'm just saying, sure it would have been nice to offer more headroom for hi impedance pickups, but it's not something you get in every effect default, I love rolling off a humbcuker too and cleaning up while losing very little volume but I also understand to add these features it's not just a matter of a single circuit and a capacitor
To me, the thing with these more expensive offerings from these lesser known Chinese companies is that the prices are creeping Into the more known and well reviewed territory. Not alot of money between this an a Line 6 Pod go. How much of the profit share do they expect to garner Edit: looking closer it's 2/3 the price of the Go.
It looks and sounds good and has an interesting price given its features.. However, checking the specs I could see it is likely to sound pretty close to the Boss GT100 or GT1 since it has a similar processor and sampling rate.. The most cutting edge multi effect seems to be still the GT1000 or Core with a 32 bit 96 Khz sampling rate..
Sounds good. I just sent back a FRFR Speaker form Harley Benton. Sounded terrible. I hope the Laney I ordered instead is any better. I wonder how it compares with the Valeton I bought. Im quite happy with the unit. If money is no issue then the Fractal and the Quad Cortex. With those 2 units you get tube comparable sounds. i.m.o. The cheaper units tend to sound to "digital". Whats your opinion?

The problem I have with these Multi-Effects is that I dial in 3-4 sounds and then become too lazy to explore these to their full potential.

Is Flamma a sub brand of Mooer? This product is very similar to Mooer GE250 indeed.

Do you know if you can call up the presets on midi with a midi foot controller such as a Behringer FCB 1010?
How is the construction? I know you said you wouldn't use it live, but would it hold up if used live on a regular basis?

Nothing beats the warmth of Ampero 2 Stomp.
Is the FX Loop IN and the Loop OUT in stereo each?
I own this but the link on flamma’s website is broken. Does anyone have the manual !? I want to know what you can adjust through midi.
I think the pink is a good idea It will stand out against a dark stage floor.
How to you get the pedal set to wah? Just got one and can't figure it out. Pedal is always set to volume
It was somewhere in the global settings. There's an expression pedal setting outside of the regular patches. You can change it from volume to wah.
