This seems alright, but how is it for sitting on the couch late at night, watching star trek with captions on, while you jam along to new wave songs on youtube?
whoah! that was, probably, the smoothest video you've ever done! I mean you rehearsed the heck out of that, either deliberately or out of necessity with all those options. Ferocious editing! No meandering, all action footage for the attention deficit generation. The return of the Gretsch Baritone, not just that but for 7 minutes! I'm gonna admit I was not ready for that. Congratualations! Awesome video!
lol, I think what you are noticing is that I turned on the air conditioner and made and effort to lay down some decent riffs as I went through the presets. About 2 hours of bad playing ended up on the editing room floor.
After trying out multiple multi effects pedals and diving into their complexities. I learned a lot about sound design and found that all I need is a good delay pedal and a cheap fuzz.
Ryan: "A feature that is completely unheard of in the multi effect game. It's pink!!!" The Hotone Ampreo and the Poly Effects Beeboo would like to have a word with you Ryan. :)
The Headrush MX5 allows the kind of sandboxing you talk about at the end in terms of what goes where, at a similar price point to this. It's similar to the Helixes, in that it's essentially a completely blank canvas. You can even run two smaller signal chains in parallel , etc (2 amps and cabs, even, if you want). It matches the full sized Pedalboard in terms of DSP and capability (to the point of patches being directly compatible, as far as I know) but smaller and cheaper. Underrated device imo.
I am here because I'm debating the MX5 and thought this might be a good alternative. Based on the audio quality, I would say it is not. MX5 stays at the top of my wishlist for now.
@@somethingelsedoesmatter 100% go for the MX5, there's no benefit to the Flamma unless you absolutely need the pink finish and XLR outs. For $100 more new, the MX5 is a massive step up in sound quality, functionality, and versatility.
@@jackdpearce I had the MX5 and thought it sounded pretty bad personally, especially with the stock cabs. I can't deny the flexibility of the MX5, but I wouldn't be so sure that the Flamma's amp modeling sounds worse. Mine quickly went back in the box once I got my Ampero II Stomp. I think someone with an extra $100 USD to spend can likely do better.
@@RicHSAD2 I get that, the stock cab sim is definitely a weak point. I use it with a synergy modular tube preamp system and I have primarily used it with cab sim off and torpedo wall of sound instead in my DAW. I’ve found it to be very good for modulation/reverb/delay with some analog pedals in the front of it and patch setup is very straightforward.
Hello Ryan! Very good review. If you allow me to add a little precision about de Line6 PodGo, you absolutely can stack multiple overdrives or delays. That's a big advantage at this pricepoint... I use it a lot. You are limited to 4 effects that you can customize and you can combine 4 of the same type if that's what you want. And if it is not enough you can hack it by manually edit a preset file to free the 4 other pre-assigned effects slots (exp, vol, eq, fx loop) to allow to use any other effect family... but then you have to watch out the DSP usage.. The main limitations vs a Helix are the DSP power and the lack of parallel signal chain.
Nice licks Ryan =D the Flamma FX200 sounds very mature and juicey,..=) Very good presets, better than my Zoom G6,..though i like the G6,..Again dear Ryan your demos, made me buy lot of pedals and even guitars. keep doin it man. Love cheers 💚🎸
Minus 10 points for stopping on Jazz Standard Plus 10 for Funky Groove 😂 some of these names are crazy Deep memories lol We need more tones with names like these ...Suicidal thoughts or pensioner attractions would be a great tone
:3 This awesome multi fx guitar pedal is quite cheaper on Shopee than Amazon. I cannot find it on Lazada. It's the battery version of the new Flamma FX200. Lazada has the non-battery version. This is so cool to have the battery in it to bring it around without an outlet, and you can charge/power it via type-C! Most pedals don't have pedals. Hehe.
@@markjones2349 You should work on your patience then. You can setup the presets to activate on a press. You have to menu dive in DAWs, websites, apps, etc. 💀💀😅😅
Myself being a metal head, I didn’t one bit for that metal core preset. Maybe it’s because I’m listening this right now though my ipad speakers, just has that same unwanted sound from many of these companies by getting a trash can then finding a beehive ,shake it up throw it into the trash can put the lid on ,BLAM you got metal core lol
i really enjoyed the obvious embellishment when the preset called for it (ie silly noodling on the super lead whatever, and the blink mockery on the mesa boogie copy). Also the noticeable grimace of disappointment in the surf rock setting not dripping (wtf is up with that, Flamma? jk)...some of those presets do sound pretty dang good, honestly.
Not a bad unit to be fair, but the Headrush MX5 blows it out of the water at almost the exact same price ($100 more nw, but cheaper than the Flamma if you buy used). It allows for the more complex sandboxing with your effect blocks like Ryan mentions the Flamma lacks towards the end, allowing you to use multiple types of any effect you desire with multiple routing options. I use a Gigboard with an external expression pedal, but the difference is all hardware, sounds and DSP features are consistent across the Headrush line.
I read you can't have a Wah AND a compressor in the same FX chain, is that true? And only 2 chorus pedals to choose from? Seems lame for a $400 pedal. 🥴
Real men have pink gear…! I have a pink Telecaster, pink mini amp and several pink pedals (Alexander Sugarcube, Keeley Eccos, JHS Lucky Cat, etc) including a custom pedal clone in a pink Hello Kitty tin lol.
I didn't like the sounds, for the most part. Especially when you play multiple strings. It just has this... 20+ year-old Zoom pedal sound (not good). As someone else mentioned, the Headrush MX5 seems way better for a similar price. As a side note: the MX5 can split your effects chain into two. If it could do 4 effects per channel (amp, cab, reverb, mod) I'd probably snag one this instant, and try to replicate your doom setup (as close as possible) from the recent JHS video. but from what I can tell, it's limited to 3 (plus some before and after the split...). Anyhow, if you haven't checked one out yet (I didn't search your channel for it), I'd LOVE to see you do a vid on one!
Presets always have too much compression, these were better than a lot of under 1K modelers. The technology is just not there yet for good light overdrive sounds, I wish this wasn't the case.
Seems like all the big names are coming out with these multi effects. Just before Christmas? What a grand marketing scheme. By January these guys will be half price cuz we gota eat. Food shelter, clothing, wife, wife's pets then expensive toys. Go Ryan......
Thanks for this video .....good pedal .....flamma is a very cool company making some adventurous effects......well stealing intellectual property but who's caring about that? Nice pedal .....lose the pink though.....black or silver please

Usually something like this would be far too high tech for me, but I kind of dig it. The pink helps.

Some great preset names. "Shabby room", "Severe lead" and "Popular band", especially. Really liked the vynil one. Nice playing on this, also!
Popular band has that one tune called “song” its my jam
you missed
dead rat in the cement mixer
Very band. So preset. Much guitar.

Good night Ned…
I love pink ♡
The best and craziest effects are pink, the Lovetone Ring Stinger is a perfect example
You look like you're having a blast with this little unit.

Great video, good to hear you going through a lot of sounds!
I do adore the Boss GT-1 for allowing delay stacking
I didn't know that u can stack delays in the boss gt1 ,, thanks.

I could easily get by with that 'Sweet Drive', 'Balad Chorus' , and one of the Lead sounds. Might have snag one of these....
So good! Shalom.
This looks exactly like the pink version of the hotone ampero

Not a surf rig for sure. Good video.
Very nice

Yep that was why I sold my Boss GT-8 years ago and went all pedals.

Between the Flamma fx200 and the Donner Arena 2000 which would you choose?
can flamma fx200 recorded by phone through on the go usb feature ?
It seems the Hotone Ampero Pink has now competition in the... pink multi-effect market.

Do you have both units? How can you make a statement without playing both. You can’t make that statement clown
does the drum feature have different beats?
Yep.

Don't touchscreens lose their sensitivity after a decade or so?
Sounds good but when you get to play it on the 2 Princetons
Doze anyone no what one is the best out of the flammer 200 or the arena2000

That 12 string sim was...painful.
$399? Isn't that way above their target market for Flamma? I mean I'd probably just pay a bit more for a Line 6 product if I wanted a multi effect.
