Im not a painter just a car guy, i just got my car back from a well respected body shop in my area, they had to paint both doors and rear quarter, moped side swiped, its a Tricoat pearl white, they nailed the color perfectly but the clearcoat has orange peel, why do some painters have issues with controlling orange peel ? Now i will have to cut and level the clear.
Maybe they were trying to match the rest of the car. Can't nail it every time. Take it back and ask them if they can sand and polish for you. They'll probably get out of it by saying they won't warranty the job because they're removing material 😀
Maybe because they sprayed the Clearcoat at a low pressure and they didn’t get the gun to atomize it properly so it just came out chunky. 2 they probably sprayed the Clearcoat too far from the panel also. Could be a variety reasons.
@@treysterthepainterturner8404 Good painters are hard to find, its a skill that requires so many levels of knowledge and perfection, your clear coat looked perfect, I could see it in the light reflection.
@spartus56996 I preciate it. That is true. Like I been telling others my uncles and dad was hard on me to know all theses things and to do it. If it’s not done a certain way it bothers me. I chase perfection or at least try to because nothings perfect.
The gun is amazing my personal opinion and it’s my opinion I think it’s better than the series 1 WS-400 it’s very controllable and so hard to run with the gun.
I paint boats using awlgrip. I want to paint cars one day. I’m 23 about to be 24. How does one start painting at 12 like you said in another comment? I wish I started that young
@@treysterthepainterturner8404 oh shit that’s cool!! My dad’s always been a painter that’s what made me want to do it. I could send you some pictures of boats. A lot less mental than cars but more physical.
@@treysterthepainterturner8404 my company doesn’t do gel coat with the crazy flakes. That would be cool. I paint normal base clear. Usually boats are painted white because it’s the cheapest color we have. Sometimes we do cool colors. A lot of cement lately.

Because the paint line so concentrated that if u flick the gun normally like if u was using 1st gen water base and or solvent base paint u will see the blend like crazy. So u have the turn the gun at a 45 degree angle to blend it so u don’t see when u blend.
1 1/2 coats back to back that’s how it’s sprayed! As water dehydrates film thickness is 1-2 mm . Easiest paint to spray in the world besides Cromax pro, or Spies
That looks like it sprays like the waterborne cromax . I love it! ❤
It’s probably similar.
Another great episode.... keep mashin on em man
I preciate it brother. 💪🏾

That's the thing about that gun. You just don't get runs. It's really nice

Not yet. When they do become available I will be getting the blue WS-400 base for the wet on wet base and the WS-400 for clear.
They are available.. not sure who ur distributor is but NCS has them and I'm sure everyone else does too

It looks like you're putting way to much on especially for black metallic just wasting that expensive paint
Yeap
