Hey guys! Be sure to come back on 3/17 at 8am EST. We’ll be uploading a full review on the CR-V Hybrid and we’ll talk about how it drives then. In the mean time, would you guys get the CR-V Hybrid or RAV4 Hybrid?

My wife and I just test drive both of these cars and we both felt like the Crv was a lot more comfortable. The Rav4 we tested was a XSE blizzard pearl with midnight black trim. Its a very sexy car but it all ends there. The chairs for me weren't as comfortable as the CRV -EX- L. The Rav4 also lacked memory adjusted seats. You would have to upgrade to the Limited for that. You also would have to pay after a year for some of the safety features that come standard with Honda. No remote start on the XSE trim which is included in the CRV Ex-L. Another place that Toyota took shortcuts was not being able to fold the second row from the back of the car. You would have to go around and manually fold it in the XSE trim. The CRV-EX-L actually has lever on the side in the back where you can pull them. The front passengers seat is also manual adjustment vs the CRV you still get electric adjustment seats. We got offers for 39,000 drive out for the Rav4 and 33,200 drive out for the CRV. For the price difference and lack of some features that were important to my wife, we went with the CRV-EX-L. The Rav4 in my opinion was the better looking car but not worth the price difference due to the lack of of features.
I really wanted to get the Rav, but the CRV won out for many of the reasons you mentioned. The Rav looks better, but getting nickle and dimed on those features wasn't appealing. The other thing, and I don't see this mentioned enough, is the gas tank issue. Without a solid fix and no ETA on when one might arrive, it was a hard pass for us.
I was very impressed by my RAV4 Hybrid tester a few months ago, but I'm very curious to drive the CR-V in comparison, mainly because I'm a Honda fanboy. But I do think the RAV4 is good looking and very spacious....
Langolier I would agree that they are superior to comparably priced European models, but Hyundai and especially Kia are making some excellent cars right now. The RAV4 hybrids AWD system does still work if the battery 🔋 is low. Actually there are 3 electric motors in the RAV4 two to drive the the front and rear wheels seperatly and one that can act as generator and drive the vehicle backwards because there is no mechanical rear gear. So you have the internal combustion engine and the two drive motors at the same time. Also Toyota never ever lets the drive battery go empty as soon as it starts to seemingly be depleeted it will be recharged so there is always enough electricity to drive front and rear electric motors. Also the Rav has less power to the rear wheels but this is just by the design of the drive train the electric motor in the back does have less power than the combined engines of the CRV which can send the power completely to the back but this is not better or worse this is just different and it depends on your usage what is better for you. More power on all wheels or better mileage per gallon.
04:14 not true. The ICU will generate electricity for the rear axis to keep it functional even if battery is empty (which doesn't happen in first place).
Although Sofyan didn't mention it when he was discussing the backseats in both cars, it appeared that the CR-V's rear doors opened much wider than did the RAV4's. This would make entering, exiting or placing child seats in the CR-V much easier.
Great review. I ended up getting the Honda CR-V EX-L and I absolutely love the car. I like the touchscreen versus Toyota buttons. I also don't have to pay an extra 5k for the features. I honestly really love the CR-V as it has plenty of space and I am also looking at starting my own family soon! Great review, it helped me see that the CR-V was the way to go for me vs the Rav4.
Sat in both rear seats. Did so in a side by side comparison. Sold new Honda for 6 months recently. Personally the rear seat of the honda seemed to have a lower floor relative to seat height. RAV 4 to me has a shorter dimension from seat to floor thereby lifting my feet and placing my knees slightly into the air and worse pushing my lower back into an awkward angle. Having said that if kids primarily sit in the second row or I was more focused on front exterior styling or a lifetime fan of Toyota brand would likely get the RAV 4
Bought a RAV4 Hybrid Limited in July. Have never gotten the sticker MPG. More like 30-32 city driving. Bringing it in for a checkup in a few weeks and will see how they explain the low mileage. We drove a CRV before we bought the RAV 4. RAV4 has more cabin noise than the CRV. Our Subaru lease ended and we tried the new Subaru. Drove well and quiet but we opted to go for the better milage from the RAV 4 which in hindsight we are not getting.
Wonderfull review Sofyan, you are one of the best. I appreciate that you will pick a favorite. Your reviews are very smooth and you transition topics nicely. Big fan!
@TheGoat Chevy did that with the Suburban and it only netted you 4mpg more for 1.5x the cost of the regular Suburban.... Also these aren't SUVs they are Crossovers (or as I like to call them: Fake SUVs)
I realize it can be obnoxious to leave constructive criticism in the UA-cam comment section, but as someone who sometimes listens to the reviews while working on other things or listens to the audio of the videos while walking home from work, it would really help if the videos said the model of the vehicle instead of saying "this car" has X , but "this car" has y, since it means I'm constantly having to look over (or opening the video app on my phone) to see what vehicle is being referenced. Nevertheless, these are great reviews, and I appreciate them.
Daniel Allan strange you say that because I don’t think the camera work is as good as usual in this video. Seems a bit jerky and odd angles throughout.
Daniel Allan I didn’t say anything about Sofyan’s work in the video. I only mentioned the camerawork. I am appreciative of RR and the star of the show Sofyan!
42k for a loaded Rav hybrid! How much will the Rav prime with 300hp gonna cost? Had to watch Redline to get my mind of the Corona. Stay safe everyone. Watch ya on the next review
Thinking about the potential price is what killed any potential interest in the RAV4 Prime for me. That thing is going to be $40,000 just to get half decent features in it. $45,000+ to get ventilated seats and a HUD is going to be a non-starter.
honda is gonna win this one because toyota continues to sell rav4 hybrids with defective fuel tanks. i have a 2019 hybrid limited but like so many others i can only get 9-10 gallons in it so my range is limited to 400 miles per tank. it should be around 500 with 14 gallons. google it, there are 1000s complaining about this.
@@motaz1975 It may be saying its empty when it has 4+ gallons left due to faulty fuel sensor in tank. This could be wrong though its a rumour from within toyota.
@@kevinc7632 well whatever it is it affects range. Toyota should at least put out a statement acknowledging the issue to give customers assurance they are trying to remedy the issue.
One difference no covered in this video is the RAV4 includes a spare tire and I'm pretty sure the CRV does not. I've changed too may many flats on the side of the road for this not to be an absolute deal breaker for me.
this video is by far much better than the one you did in the company of another youtuber on these same two cars, and this video is better for your amazing pronunciation. I do not speak very good English and that is why I can easily distinguish your ability, I can even say that the automatic Google CC function is not mistaken due to the perfect vocalization, correct rhythm and intonation. You should definitely lend your voice to other channels, tv series, movies ... etc. Good luck!
I’m definitely biased towards Honda’s (in general) but also really like Toyota’s. They’re both great cars. But the RAV4 with 360 camera, cooled seats, and a camera in the rear view mirror. I chose the Toyota for sure!
Originally I planned to buy a CRV or RAV4 gas model. The CRV drove quieter, faster, and smoother. Then I saw vids about making sure to test drive the RAV4 hybrid...and I’m so glad I did! It drives better than the regular RAV4. I would’ve given the CRV hybrid a shot because I’m usually a Honda person, but there’s no spare tire! What?! I’m sure they’ll add it when they redesign, but I don’t feel comfortable getting a vehicle without a spare right now. Toyotas have great resale and the hybrid is not much more than the gas model. I’m loving it so far. I chose a RAV4 Limited AWD Hybrid.
Loved this comparison. It's a bit of a tough choice for me, but I think I'll take the RAV4 XSE Hyrbid over the RAV4 Limited Hybrid (and over the CR-V Hybrid shown) mainly because I love the glossy black accents and the sporty appearance. Don't get me wrong, both vehicles seem to be very solid and will undeniably sell tons of units, but I just prefer the RAV4 ever so slightly more. Just wish it had more LED lighting features... ;( PLEASE TOYOTA! Anyways, looking forward to your full review on 3/17, Redline! :)
You are probably right Dennis. At least in the Volvo hybrids the battery which powers the rear wheels by design is never fully depleted to allow plenty of charge to drive the rear wheels and regeneration usually will keep charging this battery. In snow most drivers will be braking often = regen
When there is not enough electric current in the battery the front electric motor-generator will work as a generator for the rear electric motor so you get AWD all the time. That's also the way it splits power in the AWD mode, by feeding less power to the front wheels and more to the front electric motor-generator to power the rear electric motor.
Everyone complaining abt the fuel tank isse. Y'all it was only a select 2019 cars and I don't what everyone expected its a whole new hybrid system. My 2020 doesn't have that problem so does my aunts Camry hybrid and they have almost the same power train.
Honda reserving the 360° cam and pano roof for acura is one of the most bonehead moves I’ve ever seen. Someone wanting those features in an economy suv isn’t going to pivot to an RDX. They’ll just go with a competitor, like the Rav4. 🤦♂️
Levi Magnusson lol that’s ridiculous! I love Honda but they need to realize that competing economy brands are providing these “premium” features which will cause them to lose sales.
Calisto Riviera for sure. The problem I see is it keeps switching. A few years ago Honda offered features toyota didn’t offer. Standard safety tech, Apple car play etc. now they tables have turned for 2020! I’m sure once their new line of generation vehicles come out toyota will be behind feature wise. 🤷🏾♂️
Recently I went to my local Toyota dealership and sat in the RAV4. I was surprised by how cramped the interior is and how small the trunk is, compared to the exterior dimensions. The car felt massive, but only on the outside. Inside it was like an elevated Corolla. I'd like to have the styling, space and 4WD of the CR-V, combined with the Toyota's smart hybrid powerplant.
when you compare trims Honda is the clear winner, Rav4 XLE vs CR-V EX, the Honda comes standard with full LED's, Moonroof, more interior space, nicer wheels and more interior space.
DONT BUY THE HYBRID RAV4!!!!! the Gas Tanks are only filling up half way and getting 300 Distances Tell Empty!! Toyota is dragging its foot on fixing the problem.
I have the 2021 Honda CR-V EX-L AWD trim and it's a nice vehicle. I can't be more happier with the reliability, durability, comfortable Interior and decent in gas mileage. Also, it's the best selling SUV.
Langolier You’re drunk. None of these jokers come remotely close to Hyundai or Kia vehicles in design or technologies. Plus they’ve upped their reliabilities over the years.
CR-V Hybrid for me. I have been in the most recent Camry and RAV4, and I’m really disappointed in the noise quality and overall “tinny” feel from both. I know it is on a new platform, but I expected more
Accord and CRV has a lot of road/tire noise and rides very bumpy compared to Camry and RAV4. The reason they handle better is from the stiffer suspension setup at the cost of ride quality. Camry and RAV4 suffers from wind noise, which I can tolerate because they are only noticeable at highway speeds.
The AWD-i System on the RAV4 will never EVER shut down due to a low battery. The RAV4's Inteligent Power Module will always make sure the battery is charged enough to power all of the electric motors. Just know when the Energy Monitor shows only 2 bars left of charge, the battery still has 40% charge left and the Intelligent Power Module will always start a recharge the second the battery hits 40%. The RAV4 also has a Planetary Power Split device that can activate at anytime to turn engine revolutions into electricity and send it right to the batteries or directly to the electric motors, whichever the IPM calls for.
Panoramic sunroof for me is not important due to the possibility of breakage and water leakage not to say being one day under a big hail storm. I would chose RAV4 since is the most reliable SUV out there
DONT BUY THE HYBRID RAV4!!!!! the Gas Tanks are only filling up half way and getting 300 Distances Tell Empty!! Toyota is dragging its foot on fixing the problem.
@@davidshi5539 The Gas Guage Does Show Full. But you dont base amount of fuel in car on gauge. You use what the gas Pump, and what the "Distances Tell Empty" says. You'll noticed after fill ups that the DTE Drops from 600 all the way to 250 miles in range. Problem is poor tank design and poor ventilation.
@@davidshi5539 most likely will. Toyota can't find a fix but keep selling it. Already a class action lawsuit against them over it. Most people when they buy the car the DTE is high. Mine was at 600 miles tell empty before i bought it then it got progressively worse. I found out that Toyota Tech Management knew about it but its a toyota policy to not share unconfirmed issues with sells or service personnel. Ive been dealing with corporate on this issue for 3 months.
Who wants to be a Guinea pig getting a crv hybrid. Dont let me get started on the hybrid civics they abandoned. So many transmission issues, honda ditched it. Honda hasn't proven to be anything lately but a follower. They used to be innovative, but now I really despise them
@@SuperSmoovy Honda did ditch the Civic hybrid, that's true. However, they replaced it with the 3rd generation of the Insight. Until 2017 Honda built hybrids as "horsepower helpers" while Toyota built them for high mpg numbers. And yes, the Civic CVT was problematic, this CR-V uses an entirely different transmission design. BTW, I am a fan of Honda but am strongly considering the Toyota, though it will be the previous model as the 2019 RAV4 has a documented fuel tank design....which oddly no one has commented on.
To me the new Rav4 looks very awkward on the side both ends tend to dip towards the middle. I expected the pricing to be similar. I don't agree with the reviewers evaluation of the $5,000 difference which is considerable in this price class. Don't overestimate the convenience of a lower load floor in the cargo area. I pick the CRV-V as the winner.
Comments mention the spare tire and MPG, but let's not forgot there are various aspects to what makes one a better car for you. Some factors that are often overseen is how much smoother, the engine sound, overall ambience, handling, and significantly sportier the CRV is. The only other car I test drove that came in comparison was the CX-5, which I didn't consider as it cannot reguarly give 35mpg like these two can. If you want every single mpg, tons of features, and want the most practical appliance then Rav4 it is. The CR-V will be for those who want more sporty fun, better design, better quality materials, and more while being in the same MPG ballpark.
I still have my 2006 CRV - great car! So, in looking for a replacement, I gravitated to the CRV hybrid. But it is a huge concern of mine that this model doesn't have a spare tire! Why didn't they just build the spare tire into the rear hatch, like my 2006 model? If you have a blowout on a highway while on a long-distance trip, you are screwed!
That's a fair point - but I think Honda has the oil dilution issue. Between the two, I'd take the gas tank. That said, I don't think the Honda hybrid CRV is affected as it's not a turbo.
I used to own only Honda's. However, I noticed 2 things...when the mileage got up to 100K they would start having air conditioning problems, the kind you don't want to put $ into at 100k miles, and that timing belt (as opposed to a timing chain) that cost $1500 to replace at 100K was a stupid and expensive move. So I switched to Toyota's. Have never regretted it. They run forever with no maintenance. No timing belt to replace. No electrical or airco problems. I have had 5 trucks from the no name 1986 through the T100, 2 Tundras and now a Tacoma, and my wife has had 2 Highlanders and now the new 2019 Rav4. My daughter has an older Rav4. Absolutely flawless vehicles. You know how when a newer car gets a glitch people justify it with, "oh well, all cars have minor problems!!" NO THEY DON'T. Toyota's don't. IMO with Toyota's, their resale value is SO high you might as well buy new. Literally the difference between a used Tacoma and a new Tacoma was about $2k.
Toyota's are simply boring to drive. The recent Toyota's have really cheap interior with plastics and thin metal exterior. Honda feels a little more quality and gives a better driving experience and handles better.
Baber Barbell Fair enough, I love in DC and it rains a TON, I want to get a AWD suv for traction. Is the electric AWD just as good for slippery roads? Is there a video out there showing this? 👍🏻
DONT BUY THE HYBRID RAV4!!!!! the Gas Tanks are only filling up half way and getting 300 Distances Tell Empty!! Toyota is dragging its foot on fixing the problem.
Actually impressed with both cars in terms of looks. I wouldn’t get either one but they look great. I prefer the Toyota though I prefer the Honda’s rear end I just wish they would stop with the excessive chrome surrounding the logo. Interior wise I like the rugged look of the Toyota. This would be a hard choice. But good job for the appliances that they are.
There better not be any comments about oil dilution. This powertrain has been around for a few years and has not racked up the dilution complaints that the turbo has.
Rav 4 needs to get bigger break light. It's a dot on each side. It's hardly to see during the strong sunlight that may cause of accident. what's you think?
Hey Sofyan, our canadian CR-V has panoramic sunroof standard on Touring, heated steering wheel standard on all but base LX, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto standard on even base LX trim, heated rear seats standard on EXL and up, and the new EX-based sport trim and Touring-based Black Edition Trim. Sofyan you americans better be pissed off!
RAV4 hybrid has a problem of not being able to fill the tank all the way to full. Around 9 gallons out of 14. They don't seem to have a fix yet so I would wait or get the Honda.
it's completely the other way around lithium ion batteries are by far less reliable than a NiMH batteries. There are known Toyota hybrid batteries with more than one million Kilometer and only about twenty percent of the capacity lost on this distance Just think of Boing having some of their planes grounded because they went from old technology batteryto lithium ion batteries and why are you not allowed to carry lithium-ion batteries on airplanes as soon as they go over 100Wh capacity? Because they are dangerous and may explode which will almost never happen with a NiMH battery. The main reasons why lithium-ion batteries are used is because they can be recharged faster, have a higher capacity with the same weight and can be discharged faster. The Maine usage for them is in Plug-in hybrids even Toyota uses them in the plugin prius but they are not always the best choice.
I use to have a third gen Rav, it was awesome until it got totaled. While searching for a Rav replacement I found a fourth gen CRV and was surprised how much I liked it. After owning both I could easily see myself buying either or again. I like the way the fifth gen Ravs look, way better then the ugly fourth gens and better then the current CRVs. I prefer the handling and driving feel in the CRV but the old V6 Ravs are way fun for a crossover too.
I’d buy the RAV 4 for the front design and change my mind upon seeing LED turn signal and “Volvo” tail lamp. I do A LOT of driving at night. Better tail lights are safer from late night speed demons. Also have sat in both rear seats which CRV wins by a mile. But honestly both are a good value. It is a function of preference
Thanks for not criticizing either crossover for NOT having RED interior. I hate the blinding Red interior that only young yuppies like. It looks classless and ostentatious. Good Review!
Honda does not call it a CVT because it DOES NOT HAVE any transmission. The emotors drive it until a certain speed the the clutch pack can link the 2l engine to the wheels with a direct drive. When the speed drops it is all emotors and when it goes above a certain speed it’s all emotors. It’s actually a very cool system. Very different than the RAV4. It does really feel like Honda is finally trying on their Hybrids now.
Good review, but while he keeps mentioning the fake wood in the CRV he failed to mention the even worse fake leather in the RAV 4. Honda offers genuine leather not plastic
The rav4 looks great but honestly the fit and finish is quite bad. I was surprised because normally Toyota is good at that stuff but I've been in 2 and the plastics rattle alot
Since I'm staying home to be safe (old guy here), I wanted to ask...does the Rav4 still have the problem with the headrest pushing you forward? I rented one a few years back and my wife and I both had headaches from it. Reclining the seat works, but then we were not comfortable. Just asking...thanks in advance.
Crv needs an update/rework. If it had a more modern...more masculine look with a higher ground clearance I think it could beat out the Rav 4 that's basically an overhyped 2 wheel drive car.
Another point to consider is the reliability. Honda, while they have hybrid experience, with the CRV Hybrid you are buying a fist generation. Personally, I would want a year or two to allow Honda to work out and bugs. Also not mentioned is the fact that the Honda does not come with a spare tire of any kind.
Why does Toyota use NIMh batteries? Lithium batteries are much better and last longer. Currently driving a 2019 Honda Insight EX and it's awesome. I'm planning to purchase a hybrid SUV or EV SUV next year so I want to watch all the videos and read your comments to determine which one is best just as I did with my Insight purchase. To tell you the truth I bought the Insight for $2000.00 less than the best Prius deals which sealed the deal but I did watch a lot of videos and researched both for months and it was a virtual tie, I could have gone with Toyota if they would have matched the sub $20,000.00 price of my Honda. As in this video the RAV4 and CR-V seem to be so close it would be a hard choice.
I think we are approaching a Vehicle Badge Decluttering Moment. When you have four badges (CRV) on your rear hatch (not including the brand logo), it takes away from the esthetic and a badge delete option is desperately needed.
@@pbentsonable they are..but there is rarely fog for most of the us market so honestly it's better just to have led fog lights for better nightime visibility..and there is yellow film that could be added to the lens for that yellowish look if fog is an actual concern to the driver.

@@cpataxpro its ugly as sin. Look at re fresh. Horrible
@@cpataxpro I agree to disagree. It's ugly
Ventilated seats and 360 camera already win for RAV4.
I love Honda’s, I’ve been cross shopping the RAV4 with the CRV. But after seeing those features I chose the RAV4.
Always Toyota and Lexus for me. Love the new RAV4
Well said. On my 3rd Rav. Never one issue.
Toyota RAV4 is displaying false fuel range.

Gladiator PHEV is supposed to be coming next year
@TheGoat Chevy did that with the Suburban and it only netted you 4mpg more for 1.5x the cost of the regular Suburban.... Also these aren't SUVs they are Crossovers (or as I like to call them: Fake SUVs)
time to binge all redline review videos since coronavirus be having us quarantined
Shout out to your videographer. He does a good job 👍
Daniel Allan strange you say that because I don’t think the camera work is as good as usual in this video. Seems a bit jerky and odd angles throughout.
Dp01 I noticed the little mistakes. Let’s not allow some little errors overshadow this brilliant review by Sofyan. Be appreciative!
We're gonna guess another $5,000 for the RAV4 Prime.
Redline Reviews 😲😲😲😲 TF
At that price point will it even pay off financially?
Thinking about the potential price is what killed any potential interest in the RAV4 Prime for me. That thing is going to be $40,000 just to get half decent features in it. $45,000+ to get ventilated seats and a HUD is going to be a non-starter.
Ford Escape plug-in hybrid is $4785 more then same trim Escape hybrid
honda is gonna win this one because toyota continues to sell rav4 hybrids with defective fuel tanks. i have a 2019 hybrid limited but like so many others i can only get 9-10 gallons in it so my range is limited to 400 miles per tank. it should be around 500 with 14 gallons. google it, there are 1000s complaining about this.
motaz1975 im hearing its not the tank, its just a sensor/ sensor calibration issue.
@@kevinc7632 well sensor or not, 9 gallons is 9 gallons
@@motaz1975 It may be saying its empty when it has 4+ gallons left due to faulty fuel sensor in tank. This could be wrong though its a rumour from within toyota.

cannot wait for a review of Rav 4 Prime!!
You will whine about the wheels, or the mirrors, or something you will find to whine about it, when it comes out
The RAV4 outsells the CR-V due to fleet sales, the CR-V has been the best selling retail vehicle in its class for many years now.
DriveAndBeDriven glossy black accents on the outside doesn’t sound like a good idea
I don't believe the RAV4 ever loses AWD. It always charges once the battery reaches 2 bars (out of 8?)
The 360 camera is offered in top trim RDX Advance, not even the base version. That’s $47K just to get it!
Great review video! I prefer the Toyota Rav4 Hybrid!
KarlL cant go wrong with either of these models.. Though i’d stick with the Toyota..
I think the RAV4s rear end could look less minivan ish, especially since the front looks so masculine. Great car though.

When the competition gets close Toyota nueters hybrid power and gets better mpg.
So why are all the current RAV 4 owners complaining about the false fuel range??
I have the 2021 Honda CR-V EX-L AWD trim and it's a nice vehicle. I can't be more happier with the reliability, durability, comfortable Interior and decent in gas mileage. Also, it's the best selling SUV.
Toyota front design
Honda’s back design

Mr. C.G.O I quit buying Honda because they will not stand behind their products.
The honda back design is a big no no
And both CRV and RAv4 are better than Kurean and European out of factory junk cars
Langolier You’re drunk. None of these jokers come remotely close to Hyundai or Kia vehicles in design or technologies. Plus they’ve upped their reliabilities over the years.
Wait until the 2021 Toyota Rav4 Prime comes out... equipped with AWD, putting out 302 horsepower sending it 0-60 in 5.8 seconds. CR-V who?
Honda CRV is a joke compared to that new RAV4. Glad to see the RAV4 getting a lot of power again.
Arthur M that’s gonna be at least $45k considering this loaded RAV4 is $42k lol at $45k-50k for a Toyota is pushing it

CR-V Hybrid for me. I have been in the most recent Camry and RAV4, and I’m really disappointed in the noise quality and overall “tinny” feel from both. I know it is on a new platform, but I expected more
smile cute but that has not been a characteristic of Toyota.
@@ro0ster648 no actually many reported smoother ride on crv vs rav4

G - before you buy , you cannot tell the problem ? Will RAV4 prime have same problem?
@@davidshi5539 most likely will. Toyota can't find a fix but keep selling it. Already a class action lawsuit against them over it. Most people when they buy the car the DTE is high. Who wants to be a Guinea pig getting a crv hybrid. Dont let me get started on the hybrid civics they abandoned. So many transmission issues, honda ditched it. Honda hasn't proven to be anything lately but a follower. They used to be innovative, but now I really despise them
@@SuperSmoovy agree. Toyota is the leader in hybrids. And honda has been having alot of issues lately
@@SuperSmoovy
Honda did ditch the Civic hybrid, that's true.
Your video production skills & shot variations have really improved since the beginning of your channel. Good on you & your team. Sub'd!
Unless it's having major issues keep the 2006, it is way more reliable than any of the new crap Honda is making

I'm looking at the crv unless Toyota fixes the hybrid refuel problem soon. My lease is up in 12 months. so hopefully they will
That's a fair point - but I think Honda has the oil dilution issue. Between the two, I'd take the gas tank. That said, I don't think the Honda hybrid CRV is affected as it's not a turbo.
I'm looking forward to the 300hp Rav4 hybrid coming out this summer.

SS S heavy as hell too
CKPHH Not that heavy. And still a lot of power for a really fuel efficient not to mention compact suv

CRV hands down, it has a true AWD system.
Baber Barbell Fair enough, I love in DC and it rains a TON, I want to get a AWD suv for traction. Is the electric AWD just as good for slippery roads? Is there a video out there showing this? 👍🏻

There better not be any comments about oil dilution. This powertrain has been around for a few years and has not racked up the dilution complaints that the turbo has.

Great video and nice camera work.
I feel like with the update in the battery technology Honda CRV will last longer through the years😊😊😊😊
it's completely the other way around lithium ion batteries are by far less reliable than a NiMH batteries. There are known Toyota hybrid batteries with more than one million Kilometer and only about twenty percent of the capacity lost on this distance
Just think of Boing having some of their planes grounded because they went from old technology batteryto lithium ion batteries and why are you not allowed to carry lithium-ion batteries on airplanes as soon as they go over 100Wh capacity? Because they are dangerous and may explode which will almost never happen with a NiMH battery.
The main reasons why lithium-ion batteries are used is because they can be recharged faster, have a higher capacity with the same weight and can be discharged faster. The Maine usage for them is in Plug-in hybrids even Toyota uses them in the plugin prius but they are not always the best choice.
Ricco kimbrough RAV 4 will outlast the CRV.
andi 25252 OK I learned something thanks for the information
I use to have a third gen Rav, it was awesome until it got totaled. While searching for a Rav replacement I found a fourth gen CRV and was surprised how much I liked it. After owning both I could easily see myself buying either or again. I like the way the fifth gen Ravs look, way better then the ugly fourth gens and better then the current CRVs. I prefer the handling and driving feel in the CRV but the old V6 Ravs are way fun for a crossover too.
The new Rav4 is my dream car, white also my 1st choice...I'll take the one in the video 😃
The rav4 tail lights are two little dots which I think is very dangerous I’m not sure how that passed DOT
props to the camera operator.
The HRV/Vezel is the first suv hybrid vehicle from Honda they’re scattered all over the Caribbean and Asia
Raff Time yea that’s true but those aren’t available in North America

2020 Honda CR-V Hybrid Vs Toyota RAV4 Hybrid - An Electrified 40 MPG Crossover War
Crv needs an update/rework. If it had a more modern...more masculine look with a higher ground clearance I think it could beat out the Rav 4 that's basically an overhyped 2 wheel drive car.
I'd go with the CRV but both of the cars are way better than European and Kourean out of factory junks
Excellent review.
