Hey everyone! Just wanted to clarify, the 2020 CR-V Hybrid is the very first “Honda” hybrid SUV in the US. The MDX Hybrid came out a few years ago, but that’s an “Acura” 🤭😉
Seriously don't understand why city dwellers buy Jeeps. Does anyone need ride height and off road capabilities to drive their kids to school? And all the vehicles rank near the bottom of reliability in their classes.
PattyMayonnaise : most Jeep purchases are an attempt to fill the empty void in people’s lives who wish they had an active-outdoorsy lifestyle, but in reality are bogged down with an office job and day-to-day drudgery.
Jeeps look cool af, but the mpg prevent me from buying one. Just not practical for a daily driver. If Suzuki imported the new Jimny I'd be all over that. SUV's like this have much more practical application for day to day use, only problem I have with them is they look like complete trash. I absolutely HATE the feminine rounded corners wanna-be sports car soccer-mom-denial look.
Agree, my only suggestion would be to cut down on the camera panning, it's too much and makes it very hard to see and focus on the details of the dashboard, door panels, digital instruments, etc.
At least the bezel is integrated under the same panel of glass for a cleaner look, not like those Chevy Bezels with plastic non-button panels sticking out
It looks horrible when my 2018 Accord had an awesome infotainment and great steering wheel, yet to their best selling vehicle they put that crappy Civic steering wheel and that screen from 2015? I think that'll discourage lot of buyers...
I was trying so hard to figure out what the electric drive sound was: *it sounds like a digital church choir* Edit: *church choir with a distant train horn in the back ground*
As I said a few times earlier, I would repeat myself again. I am in love with your unique title musics for each video!! Keep up the good work and stay safe guys!
Mechanical AWD is a good idea for a new hybrid SUV. But if Honda really wants to compete against toyota ... they need to 1. Redesign exterior to give it a more rugged look. Its very vanilla flavoured. 2. Bigger infotainment screen. 3. Tuck the battery in nicely and give us back the cargo space. 4. Make it quicker ... reduce 0-60 time. 5. Start offering the optional extras like pano moonroof, 360 camera etc.
Sofyan: I love your reviews and watch them all the time. A previous video you posted about the Toyota Highlander convinced me to lease it, and I have not been disappointed. Three years later, I'm in the market again looking for a smaller SUV, either the Honda CR-V or the Mazda CX-5. Greetings from Tucson, Arizona. 🤗
You don’t seem to understand how the car works. There is no CVT. under highway speeds the engine is running as a generator for the electric motor. It’s not directly connected to a gearbox. There is NO gearbox. At a set speed a direct drive clutch connects the engine to the wheels. There is just one very high gear ratio, no gearbox. Basically it’s the same connection the Outlander PHEV would use. The difference there is that the Mitsubishi engine feeds the battery to power the Ev motors until it reaches higher speeds. Again, all that happens then is that the engine connects directly to the front wheels, there being no physical connection to the rear. However, there is always power for the rear motor as it’s the main drive motor.
Jack Liu Honda does a redesign every 5 years so an entirely new crv will come out in 2022. They do a mid-generation refresh...which we see with the 2020.
2021 hybrid owner, bought doughnut spare tire, jack and tool kit in as new condition for $230 from local wrecking yard, $50 in materials (3/16 hardboard and dense foam for legs) and some labor and fabriccated a shelf to sit on top of spare tire strapped down with cargo hooks in cargo area with only 7” of depth lost, spare tire problem solved
I bought this beautiful car 4days ago and I'm enjoying, car sounds like Alien OMG so good so smooth, wow so smart, very economy 😍what a car I mean absolutely best car I ever had maaan.by the way my car is white platinum color, you feel what I'm saying
One thing to mention and the 2010 CR-V that I had came with 2 seat pockets and was an EX version. A shame that the current model only has one even for the top touring trim.
Anyone else getting well over 50mpg in the city during nice weather? I live at 7000ft altitude and we are getting about 55-57mpg in the city, normal driving. If I drive really conservative I can get up to 62mpg. When the AC is on full blast we still get 51mpg in the city.
The best ruval to the CR-V is the Rav4. The Ford Escape can't match the reliability, durability and resale value if Honda and Toyota have. I had Ford vehicles and they're very good in dropping the value like crazy.
The E-AWD system the Toyota has is better for packaging interior space without a driveshaft intruding you still have space for a spare tire but oddly enough the Honda seems to be the roomier one with more space but no spare tire but a better AWD system.
This might be a better buy than the regular Gas CRV. Considering the 1.5L turbo has the gas dilution issue. Going with a 2.0L naturally aspirated engine in this veraion might make this more reliable. The only question that remains, how is this transmission technology going to hold up?
Shazam Kablam Arizona is like Florida without the humidity. Gets around 120 in the summer and sometimes airplanes can’t take off because it’s too hot 🥵 we have scorpions and rattlesnakes and low taxes so not too bad
Good video. I like yours and Alex's channels. Wolfchase honda was adding 1,500$ to their vehicles before the chip shortage. I can only imagine how much markup they have tacked on now
Everyone is noting how loud engine is. It sounds kinda, droney, but sound comes and goes in a pretty smooth sound wave. It is no different that the Rav4 Hybrid when you floor it, or any hybrid ever produced for that matter. The whole thing with hybrids are that you don't floor them to get the good gas mileage, that is a known fact. Flooring it defeats the purpose of having a hybrid as you are pretty much using all gas engine at those times. Interior of this is WAY nicer than the Rav in my opinion, especially with the real leather instead of that fake crud Toyota is using. Technology seems a little more solid that the Rav4 system even if efficiency not quite equal.

I will also add that the 2014 CX-5 was the best rendition of the CX-5 with the best mpg in its class (even better than today's models) at the time they won by being sporty yet luxurious, and won over its class. These days it seems like the CX-5 is trying to compete in looks with the higher end luxury models (lexus etc) and is falling short, they need to get back to their roots.
You guys are all hilarious with your little tiffs. If I had lots of money I'd own BOTH of these hybrids. They both look great in different ways and are made for some different uses. The CR-V is probably better off road with its true AWD. The Rav4 is sportier (faster) and can pull a small trailer. But if I could only buy one it would probably be the Rav4 but it's a very close call & being able to tow a small trailer just edged it slightly ahead for me.
So, you get this at MSRP... In this case buying my Highlander 6K+ under MSRP saved me enough not to worry about gas price for some time, until we get even. So, if I spend $1200/y on gas and CRV-h owner $675, I pay $525 more/y. But I saved on purchase $6800 min, including on taxes. For 10 years, this is $680 per year. Yes, gas price can change. But I will be driving v6 with nice sound and big and comfortable car for same money. Ah…
Honda really missed out on putting their new infotainment system and steering wheel into the crv. The 7 inch is small compared to the 10-inch screens on some Toyota models.

I like how Honda navigation screens look integrated against the dash, rather than stick up like a tablet.
Too bad it sucks.

2022? 🤔
And parking radar like rag, and needs to be faster like rav, the interior is always done well but it really can’t compete with RAV4 hybrid
