For those of you who keep mentioning "I wish we had this show in the US"... have a look here at the unaired pilot (it's not like the didn't try)... ua-cam.com/video/b7s4PNVjbWg/v-deo.htmlsi=6n1Rofiqu1O98dQK
I got (4+5)x100=900, 10x6=60, 900-60-3=837. First time I've ever gotten it within the time limit and first time I've gotten it and the contestents haven't. I feel so smart haha
II: 3X3X100 = 900 9+2=11 III: Nowhere close. One of the traps I fall into is needing that "large" whenever possible. Nice solve without it! IV: Basically had the second person's solution.
In the first numbers round, I saw Rachel's solution, and I also had these: 100 + 5 = 105 10 + 4 = 14 14 - 6 = 8 105 x 8 = 840 840 - 3 = 873 10 x 4 = 40 100 + 40 = 140 140 x 6 = 840 840 - 3 = 837 In the second round, I saw both contestants' solutions and also had this similar one: 100 x 3 x 3 = 900 900 + 9 + 2 = 911 And also this one: 100 x 9 = 900 7 x 2 = 14 14 - 3 = 11 900 + 11 = 911 But I think that's pretty much it for different solutions. You can rewrite them or use extra numbers, but they all seem to be variants of 102 x 9 - 7 or 100 x 9 and then getting the 11 in some way with the remaining numbers. In the third numbers round, I saw Rachel's solution, and I also had this one: 50 - 9 - 7 = 34 34 x 8 = 272 272 - 1 = 271 And I also had this one: 50 x 7 = 350 9 x 8 = 72 350 - 72 - 6 - 1 = 271 (you can also subtract the 1 from the 50 before multiplying by 7, but why not use all the numbers?) In the final numbers round, I saw the contestants' solutions and also had these: 100 x 9 = 900 900 / 4 = 225 225 + 6 = 231 100 - 4 = 96 96 / 2 = 48 6 - 1 = 5 48 x 5 = 240 240 - 9 = 231
as a brit i agree, for two reasons , stone? when has it ever been stone? and the order is confusing to me, but my kids watched a youtube video from one of the kaji channels and one of the people there called it paper, rock scissors. and it crashed in my ears. I'm accustomed to rock, paper, scissors.

It's those Arabic numerals they hate.
I saw it and it was played far differently from the UK version.
I got (4+5)x100=900, 10x6=60, 900-60-3=837. First time I've ever gotten it within the time limit and first time I've gotten it and the contestents haven't. I feel so smart haha
Not quite in the time limit, but got that one too. Nice get.
Round 1
(10 x 4 + 100) x 6 - 3
Round 2
3 x 3 x 100 + 9 + 2
3:30 nice reference there!
Round 3
(50 + 7) x 6 - (9 x 8) + 1
Round 4
(100 + 9 + 6) x 2 + 1
231 slightly more complex way.
100-1 = 99, x2 = 198
6x4 = 24, +9 = 33
198+33 = 231
not often I get the final conundrum, but I did just before he pressed his buzzer so feeling good today.
Nice to see both of Countdown's classy ladies.
5+4=9 9*100=900 6*10=60+3=63 900-63=837
I did the 1st the same as Rachel, except, for some reason, I did (10-6)+3 to get the 7! Weird how you can miss the obvious sometimes
II: 3X3X100 = 900
9+2=11
III: Nowhere close. One of the traps I fall into is needing that "large" whenever possible. Nice solve without it!
IV: Basically had the second person's solution.
5+4 = 9
9 x 100 = 900
10x6 =60
900-60-3.
837 is div by 9. 93 x 9...
837=(10-6+4)×(100+5)-3
7 x 8 = 56 - 1 = 55 x 6 = 330 - 50 - 9 = 271
In the first numbers round, I saw Rachel's solution, and I also had these:
100 + 5 = 105
10 + 4 = 14
14 - 6 = 8
105 x 8 = 840
840 - 3 = 873
10 x 4 = 40
100 + 40 = 140
140 x 6 = 840
840 - 3 = 837
In the second round, I saw both contestants' solutions and also had this similar one:
100 x 3 x 3 = 900
900 + 9 + 2 = 911
And also this one:
100 x 9 = 900
7 x 2 = 14
14 - 3 = 11
900 + 11 = 911
But I think that's pretty much it for different solutions. You can rewrite them or use extra numbers, but they all seem to be variants of 102 x 9 - 7 or 100 x 9 and then getting the 11 in some way with the remaining numbers.
In the third numbers round, I saw Rachel's solution, and I also had this one:
50 - 9 - 7 = 34
34 x 8 = 272
272 - 1 = 271
And I also had this one:
50 x 7 = 350
9 x 8 = 72
350 - 72 - 6 - 1 = 271 (you can also subtract the 1 from the 50 before multiplying by 7, but why not use all the numbers?)
In the final numbers round, I saw the contestants' solutions and also had these:
100 x 9 = 900
900 / 4 = 225
225 + 6 = 231
100 - 4 = 96
96 / 2 = 48
6 - 1 = 5
48 x 5 = 240
240 - 9 = 231
837 : 100 x (5+4) - (6 x 10) - 3
(5+4)*100 = 900, 6*10=60, 60+3=63, 900-63 = 837
5 + 4 = 9
9 x 100 = 900
10 x 6 = 60
60 + 3 = 63
(900 - 63 = 837
5+4=9
9x100=900
6x10=60
900 -60-3 =837
I'm ashamed to say that I spotted Rachel's "bodyshakin" joke...
100 / 4 = 25
25 x 9 = 225
(225 + 6 = 231)
837 = (5+4) * 100 - (6*10) - 3. easy, without mambo jambos of is multiple by 7
Did it the exact same way.
As an American, "paper, scissors, stone" sounds so wrong.
as a brit i agree, for two reasons , stone? when has it ever been stone? and the order is confusing to me, but my kids watched a youtube video from one of the kaji channels and one of the people there called it paper, rock scissors. and it crashed in my ears. I'm accustomed to rock, paper, scissors.
5+4 =9 x100 = 900
6x10 =60 900-60 = 840 -3 837
150 only 13 away
6 plus 5 is 11 times 12 is 132.
Saw both ways
For the first one do 100 times 10 which is 1,000
Then work out the other 4 numbers
Might have to do 3 number multiplication and yeah
100 x (4+5) = 900
(6 x 10) + 3 = 63
900 - 63 = 837
110 times 11
Rachel is so attractive 👏🏻
837:
100 + 5 = 105
10 + 4 - 6 = 8
105 * 8 = 840
840 - 3 = 837
10 * 4 = 40
100 + 40 = 140
140 * 6 = 840
840 - 3 = 837
5 + 4 = 9
100 * 9 = 900
10 * 6 = 60
900 - 60 - 3 = 837
911:
100 * 3 * 3 = 900
900 + 9 + 2 = 911
3 / 3 = 1
100 + 1 = 101
101 * 9 = 909
909 + 2 = 911
271:
50 - 9 - 7 = 34
34 * 8 = 272
272 - 1 = 271
9 + 8 = 17
7 + 6 = 13
17 * 13 = 221
221 + 50 = 271
50 * 7 = 350
9 * 8 = 72
350 - 72 - 6 - 1 = 271
231:
100 / 4 = 25
25 * 9 = 225
225 + 6 = 231
100 + 2 = 102
102 * 9 = 918
918 + 6 = 924
924 / 4 = 231
9 * 6 = 54
100 + 54 = 154
154 / 2 = 77
4 - 1 = 3
77 * 3 = 231
Then divide that by 121
56 away
180 would be 17 away.
Keep it simple. Use the numbers you have. There is a 6. What is 837/6? Well, 840/6 is 140, which is easy to make. Then take away the 3.
I thought (100x(5+4))-(6x10)-3 was obvious too
271....50+7 = 57 x 6 = 342.....9x8=72-1 =71 .....342-71 = 271
231=2×100+4×9-6+1
120
271=8×(50-9-7)-1
