I remember hearing the very, very sad news of Mr Richard Whiteleys passing, his legacy will live on through Countdown and Television forever! Still very sad to this day. Seeing his remarkable journey on this show on UA-cam is very much appreciative thank you!! 😊
It was sad for Fred Dibnah when i used to watch him on the Telly doing his Shows about cotton Weaving and his Chimneys and steam engines . He knew his stuff about the industry. 8 months after Richard Whiteley Passed. late 2004-mid 2005 lost 2 great People. There should have been some classic countdowns on Channel 4 with Carol Vorderman and Richard Whiteley. Miss him on the show almost 19 years on.
19 years later, Mr. Countdown’s still heavenly missed to this day❤️🩹🕊️
RIP Richard Whiteley thank you for the amazing memories you have given us

R.I.P Richard Whiteley (1943-2005)
1:43 “The clock stopped too soon!”
I promptly broke into tears upon hearing that, absolutely devastating
Bro the clock is starting on the intro
That is just heartbreaking! I cried once I heard that
The day I was born and we lost a true national treasure
+Harry Holden Richard will always be Mr Countdown
2:20 that line still makes carol angry to this day
