OMG! They need to find ways for them to get adopted. Make sure their vet care is paid for. That’s the least they can do.

It's horrible that the way we fail our veterans apparently also extends to military dogs. Honestly, they shouldn't even be forced into service to begin with; it's an absolute tragedy from the very start.

I would have thought it would be the same as police dogs they stay with their handler😢this is heartbreaking 😢😢

As I understand it there is a preference each dog goes to a past handler but the nature of their work (deployment etc) and personal/family situation may often make this impossible. It is then that the alternatives become substandard and even if they do go to a past handler, this individual is left to cover all ongoing medical/care costs
