It's suppose to end at 14 but it's also been said that they may go for a 15th season...they probably can't continue it for a lot more because... Well... Danny devito is getting really old, so even if I love him as Frank Reynolds, he can't keep doing this forever and I won't accept him dying on the show unless it's the end

The gang's always shown glimpses of their musical talent; I'm glad we finally got an episode honestly exploring that. I mean don't get me wrong, I love "The Nightman Cometh" but because the music was diagetic and written by a brain damaged man in-universe, it kind of had to suck. Here the music is allowed to be good.

Annie Trinity - I take nightman cometh any day of the week over this horrible new season. Musicals are OK but unless the show is centered around them, no one really hopes for them, especially when it comes to its always Sunny
Matt S I'll concede this season has been a little weak over all so far. Waterpark I think may be their worst episode yet, just by virtue of how plotless it is, and Old Lady House wasn't as bad, but it still gives off this vibe like it's not an episode the gang enjoyed working on. Wolf Cola and the Making a Murderer parody better capture the rhythm and tone of the show, but they're nothing groundbreaking. The season premiere though? No that one's untouchable; the show would have to crank out some amazing episodes for The Gang Turns Black to have not permanently secured a spot on every internet "best of" list from now until this show fades from popular consciousness. I can understand if you don't like musicals; they're my thing, but that's a preference. But I would be arguing that this is easily a top five episode even if it wasn't a musical (which was something that could have happened); every scene in that episode has a clear purpose, the writing manages to not do anything to muddy the complicated message (which was my biggest complaint with Zootopia), and the parts sum up to what I'd say is the most lucid commentary on racial tensions to come out of white TV since Southpark's "With Apologies to Jesse Jackson". The episode wasn't going to be a musical until Charlie Day got an opportunity to meet Lin Manuel Miranda backstage and a production of Hamilton, and you can still kind of see what the episode probably looked like before the rewrite, and it's still obviously one that a lot of effort was put into.
Annie Trinity - actually the waterpark episode to me is the only salvageable episode of the season thus far. As a lifelong it's always sunny fan; At least as long as the show has been on and I watched the very first episode in Philadelphia actually. I seen every episode at least 20 times, the key recipe being an entertaining plot that keeps you coming back. This has been the most unfunny/unsunny season of the show. It's such a shame because last season was one of their best, and I had such high hopes's, especially since the show is on its way out. I figured if they did it right this season they might extend it several more. (I know they were approved for 14). The episode you speak of; when they turn black; although pretty original is not befitting of the shows demeanor. (much like a full on musical, Night man cometh episode wasn't a musical, only end was).
if you ask me I'm disappointed in the gang for turning to blatant politics ( racial divisions & ISIS), they're better than that, leave that crap to South Park

The Pooch hey there! They definitely film a lot of scenes in L.A., but they actually film the vast majority of exterior scenes in Philly! They usually travel to Philly every June or July to film scenes for the upcoming season. Rob is from South Philly hence why I think they choose it for the location. I actually got to meet Rob, Charlie and Glenn this past summer in Philly, it was awesome! They're the nicest people! Very down to earth.

The slapping together the feet and the I WANNA wanna WANNA WANNA GO home part had me in tears. It was so beautifully absurd to an ending and just so epic. Especially with Charlie singing to death and adverbing with his dying black child breath
This is still my favorite show on tv.
I'm not a fan of musicals but I really enjoyed the this musical episode they made. It's one of the best episodes they ever made and Season 12 is on a good start. It was creative and brilliant. I'm black and wasn't offended by this episode not one bit.

Joseph Sonners yeah, a shit ton of people hate the new season for some reason.
it's been kinda predictable tbh, except for the season finale. the songs in this episode also took fucking forever to not really say anything that interesting. all the "twists" in the cricket episode and the stripper episode were obvious. the scratchcard episode dragged on for no reason. the old lady house concept was funny but there weren't really any actual funny jokes in it, just a lot of running around (same goes for the making a murderer episode). only one i loved was the water park episode. I think season 11 was amazing and they started pushing boundaries regarding episode concepts....but now it's just episode concepts without any actual good banter and jokes. Even the season finale, aside from the very end, was super predictable and the whole episode consisted of things they'd done before (faking deaths, making dee mad by coming into her apartment, pretending to be people they're not)

Every single show is predictable once you realize the basic structure/formula of story telling.
I do not like the Cricket episode at ALL but I loved the rest of the season. Not to mention that the scratch ticket episode "dragging on" is literally the entire core concept of the gang. They argued about what sound a cruise ship makes for 3 hours, and that's only half of their usual time.
It sounds to me like you're spending too much time trying to look forward instead of appreciating what's actually happening right in front of you

This episode was definitely really good, and I always love the music they make for the show. The ending of the episode is definitely confusing though, not sure what the social commentary is really supposed to be saying. Charlie sings a song about how "things are not always that clear" but then they do the whole "black kid shot by white cop" bit. Either way this episode is pretty damn funny.
It seems you understood the ending a lot more than you gave yourself credit...
Perhaps, but after Charlie gets shot they sing "we just learned our lesson" and I think they were commenting that the "lesson" is black people are discriminated against and killed unfairly by the police. They sing about "want[ing] to go home" and yell at frank when he says "white home." The commentary is subtle but I think this is kind of a "black lives matter" episode. But regardless of the politics, the episode is funny.
TheTrashMan I take it as equality up to a point. They sang about the similarities and how everyone goes through struggles across the board, but racism still exists in certain situations; that is reactionary racism and racial expectations.
