My favorite "Retarded Charlie" moment is the episode "The gang saves the day" I think its called. Everyone has their flash of a perfect life and Charlies is in cartoon form. Too funny.

This last season was one of the bests.
This season was pretty good, but the best episodes in earlier seasons set a pretty high bar. "Frank's Intervention," "Manhunters," "Gas Crisis," "Mortgage Crisis" (and several more) are as good as the best episodes of "Seinfeld."
I agree. I cant get enough for Dennis and his psycho mind getting more and more derailed. only gets better and better, finally a show wjhere the character devolves, not evolve :P.

He is tired of the bourgoisie capitalist stranglehold on his life that builds houses and dictates where he lives and tells him he has to do things like wear clothes and looks down on him from pursuing his true passions-music, sewers, and various illegal substances. They are the "onions" stinking up his life.
Bottom line-this is Charlie's anarcho-communist manifesto.

I think the oyster part was a reference to the first line in first song he wrote "they say the world's your oyster, but man oysters aint for me". The spider part is just a thread that charlies train of thought never gets past. Remember the first nightman song? "Nightman, sneaky and mean. Spiders inside my dreams...." however, the whole theme of this episode was to outline the struggle between being extremely narcissistic while acting like you dont need anyones' approval. But anything is possible when charlie gets ahold of some spray paint and a sock, so who knows?!

This is the best episode they've done. The whole premise for "trying to win an award" isn't to do bartending but the fact the show has never won or been nominated in their category. Once you know this you see the episode in a completely different light. Genius.

Same. I've watched every episode of the first 8-9 seasons probably two or three dozen times. Never loses it's charm, never ceases to make me laugh. The acting is incredible, the writing is outstanding, the way they deliver their lines is perfect, especially Glenn aka Dennis - his character slays me, definitely my favorite. The way he turns a sentence is just incredible. Dennis is a pure sociopath, his manipulation, his blind ego, his fake laugh, the way he talks down on the others and fancies himself this impeccable god despite revealing himself to be a total idiot in his own right on so many occasiona, just everything, it's too good.They're ALL too good. Amazing show!

Before I started watching It's Always Sunny I always wondered why people loved Charlie Day so much. I mean he's good in movies like Horrible Bosses but never blew me away. But it's insane how brilliant he is in IASIP. The way he plays the character with such manic intensity while still being hilarious is amazing. I just hope that he can work on the big-screen with a director who knows how to unleash him.
