The many geniuses at Open Ai didn't t understand the terms of service they just clicked accept like everybody without reading
lol and they just trained away and now no one knows the answer except the geniuses at Open AI. Man Sundar is in a choke hold from Microsoft and Open AI but I still think google will be the eventual winners like they usually are anyway. (I'm Sundar sympatizer, don't bite me pls, lol)

Doesn't matter. AI should be allowed to train on all human data, because the benefits to humanity greatly outweigh any complaints you can think of to disallow it.
If it has the chance to save my life, or the lives of people I care about, I will advocate for the development of AI until we create such tools.
@@GrumpDog That's just a way to tell these companeis they can do everything. Also we really dont know what the end result is going to be. Even if Open AI is giving it away for free now, you have to beware that there is some underlying commercial intent they will be planning with this roll out

Websites can reject web crawlers like Google by setting up their policy config file called robots.txt
If openai can use youtube videos for training or not depends on youtube's policy.

...yes that's correct. youtube was designed for human consumption.
and the level of "watching youtube" that is required for openAI to train a model such as sona is considerably more taxing than an individual human, just to be clear - and considering that openAI is a for-profit company that intends to commercialize the sona product, it may genuinely be an instance of infringement/theft. not only for google, but for the unwitting youtube creators themselves whose content sona was trained upon.

Unlike human, AI trained on downloaded UA-cam videos do not watch ads or pay UA-cam premium.
We also don't "generate" videos by watching user generated content.

There should be something like “Freedom of Publicly Available Data” because if Google says other AI can’t be trained on their data, this will just cause issues in the future where other sites will owe their allegiance to some corporation and AI models will be incomplete

OpenAI has already shipped it. I've been using GPT-4o with voice interface and it's awesome.
Well, you are mistaken. The new voice mode that was introduced in the event is not out yet, even confirmed by Sam himself on Twitter
@@pawelpow I think maybe they give a small number to test it out first. I'm a heavy ChatGPT user. I have a headphone button next to the chat textbar. My friends don't have it yet. I can talk to it and see the same center blob that was in the demo.
@@hondajacka2 you probably have chatgpt-4o, but not the voice or the vision. That's what all the paid users have right now. I literally JUST got it, not a heavy user at all and I also have the headphones button and can talk to it, but from my understanding, if it is saving the text version of your conversation and you also don't have the "vision" mode then you don't have the voice model yet either. At least that's what I've been reading.

@@hondajacka2 I think they are adding a pop-up clarifying this as it is a little confusing but what you have is the old voice mode that most people had for several months now. The new (greatly improved) voice mode will be coming soon. They should have been more clear though

Oh poor baby got asked normal questions about how their business operates and a situation with a competitor. If they can’t handle these questions then why do they get paid all these hundreds of millions?
The fact that private companies are working on this stuff racing to own it instead of humanity as a whole is extremely concerning.

sundar pretending to care when he’s been training his ai on all our emails, browsing data, location data, phone use data, text messages, and voice data for years
But we use their service so we knowingly enter into it. Our emails are on Gmail servers that we pay nothing for. So Google rightly so has access to our data because technically it's their data.

but you *pay* to stay in a hotel. these sites are equivalent to free housing, and after acquiring your consent, watches you. it’s a mutual understanding and agreement both knowingly get into and participate in.

they'll be just like bing is to google.. a search engine that exists but sits in the background while everybody uses google as search engine. same as the ai race, open ai is leading but google eventually will also have their products but overall openai will be the majority of what other people will use
What terms of service? I just opened UA-cam in an incognito window, clicked "reject all" and searched for cats - bam. At no point did I have to agree to any terms of service.
Something tells me that Pichai knows this and that's why he didn't answer the question straight. And why they probably won't sue. (Well, there might be other reasons too that I'm not aware of.)
No UA-camr I know can tell you what's in the UA-cam terms of service. And since not agreeing to them prevents you from creating on this ubiquitous platform, there is no real choice. That said, Google should not have exclusive use of all this content they didn't create. Whether I consent to AI using my content on UA-cam should not be for Google to decide. And if I decide that the answer is no for OpenAI, it would be no for Gemini as well.

I do not think quality and quantity is not going to matter in a couple of years, if the data or information collected by the companies or the AI, do not remain private or personal, privacy should br made a fundamental right, and access should only be gained in extreme cases according to the law or rules/regulations which are easy to understand by the public! Cybersecurity or privacy is really important no matter where you live!

Content put on UA-cam does not belong to Google . It belongs to the creators. Don’t let Google or Microsoft fool you. I don’t believe there is exclusivity except with some gamers and handful of others.

More likely OpenAI made a deal with big stock video websites and such.
But... Most likely, even if they had used UA-cam videos, it'd fall under fair use, since it's a transformative use.

what if google has already used youtube to train their own text to video models. openai can't be sued cause it'll open up the can of worms for google as well. potential loss to both companies.

@@Andres_Acostahes literally just riding the AI wave thanks to all the capital previously accumulated by Google. If he was to start from the ground up, the company would have never seen the light of day.
90% of investors in AI cant tell you what back propagation is, so I really dont think that the stocks today reflect the vaibility of the company in the future.
With the annoucement of OpenAI's GPT-4omni, it shows that Google is already lightyears behind... that's after Gemini's disaster. They are too busy figuring out how to be "politically correct" with their AI products. Lol.

She said "some of those features" and some of them are available right now, sadly the voice and vision are not, which are obviously the two biggest features people want. But if you are a paying customer to openai you can use 4o right now. In a couple of weeks all of the features will be available even to free users, how long will it take google? I think she makes a valid point
I'm done with Google, this CEO is a disaster and destroyed a great company - he passed on generative AI and the talent left. He is basically the Blockbuster of tech, passing on Netflix because it would benefit the customer even if it means altering your core product. Certified clown

Right now my experience with chat GPT is not any impressive at all. Mostly because it can only do the Google jobs and less. Beside it asked stupid questions about me that I do not need to be asked. Prefer answers from new chat machine until chat can become proper AI machine then may be chat GPT may ask. I do not think until now chat GPT any version can accumulate my answers to his personal questions about me into incorporate better chat.
Are you using the paid version or the free one? The could be different i guess.
