Here is the PARTS LIST for How to install an Acura RSX Type S K20 Oil Pump on a K24 Block for Honda K-Series engines
    ►RSX Type S (K20A2) Oil Pump Assembly #15100-PRB-A01
    ►RSX Type S (K20A2)Windage Tray #11221-PNC-000
    ►RSX Type S (K20A2) Oil Pump Chain #13441-PCX-004

    ►RSX Type S (K20A2) Oil Pump Chain Tensioner #13450-RAA-A02
►Oil Pumps Bolts (one of each) #95701-06025-08
    #95701-08050-08
    #95701-08075-08
    ►Windage Tray Bolts (6) # 5701-06014-08
**Bolt and washer to plug oil jet on the block**
►CRV (K24A1) Block can use Oem Honda Part #90004-PE2-005
    ►K24a2 or K24a4 will need a M8 x 1.25 1” inch bolt and washer
**BE SURE TO USE HONDABOND TO KEEP THE BOLT FROM FALLING OUT**
Here are some tips for the RSX Type S Oil Pump conversion
This oil pump is found on the DC5 Type R K20A, RSX-S K20A2/Z1.
If you using the RSX Type-S oil pump and are using a TSX (K24a2) or Accord block (K24A4), you will need to modify the mounting surface of the pump to accommodate the lump in the lower plate.
The CRV (K24a1) block you do NOT have to modify the pump. It's a flat surface.
You can reuse the oil chain tensioner from your K24A Engine.
The oil pump tensioner from the K24A is the only part that is the same as the RSX.
If you have an 8th gen SI K20Z3 you will need to modify your exsisting tensioner or add the RSX oil pump chain tensioner.
The K20Z3 tensioner is the only US spec K20 engine that does not have the RAA piece.

Solid vid Dave. The side by side view should help people see why the a2 pump reaches cavitation later in the rpm range with the much larger sprocket keeping the revolutions closer to 1:1 and the reduced mass.

I read on a form you plug off the little hole underneath the oil pump as well.
Every where else I’ve seen how to do this no one does it. What do you think?

    • @DAVEMARINO

I havent seen anyone else do that before. The way i did it here has worked on quite a few motors

    • @averyalexander2303
      @averyalexander2303 3 роки тому

If you are referring to the little hole in the block next to the main oil feed hole, that's a pressurized oil feed to lubricate the ends of the balance shafts. It isn't really necessary to block it off since the flange on the K20 pump covers it, so you aren't going to lose a significant amount of pressure from there. However, if you want to plug it off to ensure that no oil will escape through it, doing so could only help your oil pressure. Less leakage is always better. I'm OCD so I am going to see if I can thread the hole and put a screw in it to ensure that there is no leakage, but you don't have to.

They use the balance shafts to help cancel out the vibrations from the pistons going up and down to make the motor run smoother. 4 cylinder engines are inherently imbalanced. Removing the balance shafts will reduce weight and drag and improve reliability at high RPMs, but you may also notice more noise and vibration in the cabin as a result of the engine's inherent imbalance no longer being cancelled out.

Only started experiencing after I changed the VTEC gear to the RSX and pinned it t 45 degrees so I think the gear is not getting enough oil pressure.
