- Опубліковано 23 сер 2024
- Music from Australia and New Zealand in the year 1965:
The Bee Gees performing the single 'Wine & Women' on the TCN-9 program Bandstand - broadcasted in June, 1965.
Note: The Bee Gees were British migrants that had started their career in their homeland. However, like many British-born performers (Billy Thorpe, Olivia Newton John, Frank Ifield; to name a few) the Bee Gees became a household name in Australia prior to international success.
Note: Bandstand, was an Australian musical/variety television show which screened from November 1958 to 1972. It was produced at the studios of TCN-9 in Sydney and eventually became a national program as Nine Network expanded into other Australian cities in the early 1960s and was hosted by Brian Henderson. Later shows from the mid 70's was hosted by Daryl Somers.

There’s the Bee Gees, and then there’s everyone else.
The way that Robin places his hands on his brothers’ shoulders is very loving.
No doubt!
Barry was 19 and Robin and Maurice were 16! To be that talented at those ages and have clear voices and harmonies like that is extraordinary!
THEY WERE SO YOUNG AND THEY WERE VERY TALENTED AND ROBIN SINGING WITH BARRY AND MAURICE THREE BOYS
@@marilynnewtongibb7670 Excuse me but are you related to any of the Gibb brothers?

Love hearing Robin's lower range - I feel no pain"🎶🎶🎶
Robin's always stealing the scene- a crucial part of the magic
amazing how quickly MAURICE learned to play all these instruments and master them and how little Robin growing to have an incredible voice
THE BEE GEES HAVE STOOD THE TEST OF TIME. SUCH WONDERFUL ENTERTAINERS. THE BEST BROTHER GROUP EVER. NEVER TIRE OF THEIR MUSIC. PETER WADE. TWEED. HEADS NEW SOUTH WALES. AUSTRALIA. 29-7-2024.
Robin is vocally and visually unique. I always just look at him
"Visually unique?" Did you come up with that to avoid getting cancelled? Lol
Robin is one of a kind❤
Robin isn't visually or vocally unique.😂
@@kthor pues yo no lo veo feo, siempre me gustó, y su voz, claro que es la mejor de los Bee Gees ,no seas envidioso!
@@estelacobas4416There's no comparison of Robin's voice & looks to Barry's....not even close.
The voices are astonishing. Wonderful. ❤❤❤
They were a self contained choir! So talented. ❤
You can see they experimented with various techniques which is why they survived so long they adapted to each decade musically with jive talking being a milestone of their talents.
Robin showing off that range at 15.
I’m 17 and the twins were around my age in this performance I think… I’m obsessed with this song it needs to be on Apple Music
Looks like we're in the same crowd! I'm about a year younger and I agree!
This is such a gem, their harmonies are amazing and I love hearing Robin sing so low, just goes to show his range
Robin had such a wonderful, special voice.. So distinctive and angelic.. The World misses you Robin, Maurice and Andy..
❤
A forgotten Sixties gem this is. The Bee Gees' early songs were very poetic. The Bee Gees were music geniuses and poets, as evidenced in this song of theirs and many other songs of theirs, especially from the Sixties. You can picture the lyrics in your head in many songs of theirs.
I read that Barry wrote this song. I like it and Robin has a very nice deep voice here.
@@catlucky9815, you are correct. Barry wrote this song and yes, Robin's voice was great on this, just as it was on other Bee Gees songs
diese 3 Stimmen berühren mich sehr !
I can’t believe that in two years they’d create their masterpiece first album Bee Gees First. Wow.
God, these three kids became icon's..
They really were musical geniuses.!!
robin had such a mature and solid voice even at this age! and maurice was playing lead on a 12 string! and of course, barry gibb, composing hits like this at a very young age and still doing it today!
I agree with your comment and yet it is such a crying shame that Andy died so young and then we lost Maurice and eventually Robin.🤗
By the time they recorded this, all three brothers were collaborating on the compositions.
@@neilforbes416 Well at first Barry was writing the hits then it was all three brothers
los tres componían las canciones Robin y Mauricio también aportaba con lo suyo!!!
I like the song, but it sounds like a rip-off of early Beatles.
In 1965, The Bee Gees are starting to blossom into what would be their grown-up sound in the 1960s. They would have break-out hits just two years later.
Recorded in a converted Butcher Shop in Hurstville,Sydney!.
The artist at the start is Helen Reddy. A few years later in 1972 she would have a world wide hit with "I Am Woman," and later with "Angie Baby."
A bit of talent on this episode of Brian Henderson's Bandstand.
Legendary gem on Robin's voice
Unreal this talent. The Bee Gees music stands up all eras. It's just music that will last forever and beyond.
The music of our life!
amazing!!!! The harmonizing is at 100! The Bee Gees was always great even as teens and pre teens.
And after teenage yrs x
They achieved fame so young. The twins were only 17 when they recorded Massachusetts and some of their songs then were really deep and melancholy.
Robin: .".I feel no pain......."/....( How deep is your voice.. Dear.....❤!
Barry Gibb was a strong songwriter even in his teens.
And that Beatlesque sound is great too.
You may not know this but while here in Australia, Barry wrote roughly 78 songs which were never recorded here in Australia. However, at least another 47 were. I am aware of at least another 23 which were recorded at Hurstville which have never seen the light of day!
@@happyolddude talk about prolific.
@@happyolddude Definitely a musical genius! He and his brothers were born with gifts that they gave to the entire world & their music is timeless.
@@happyolddude i appreciate that information. Would love for those songs to come to light and get some play now.
TIFF TIFF HERE LEADING THE BEE GEE ARMY. THE BEE GEES ARE THE SHIT THE LRYICS ARE SO COOL THEY KNEW ABOUT WINE AND WOMEN AS TEENAGERS YOU GO BOYS 🍒✊🏾 ROBIN HAD SOUL IN THAT VOICE AS A TEEN GO BABY BOY🍷👠
Genius at an earlier stage & a great song too
Love this song. They were so young. Love these guys. Robin is my favourite.xxxxxx
It's too bad you don't hear these songs on the radio, they were obviously well done and professionally done... especially considering how young they were, Barry was 17 years old, and Maurice and Robin a mere 15 years old, how many 15 and 17 year olds, sound like that!♥️😁
This song was the beginning of their career. Can you imagine a 14 year old writing songs? Barry surely together with his brothers prove that you don’t need a formal education to achieve something. It just have to get determination in one’s mind for that and never give up.
This was aired on 18/12/1965. The twins were four days short of their 16th birthday and Barry was already 19.
How many teach themselves to play a 12 string. I love this song and video. I love watching them at such a young age.
@@isabellabourchier3498 buena respuesta así es Barry era mallor por tres años.
It gets no better than this. To be so young with this much talent is amazing.
I love these guys so much! I wish I appreciated them more when they were together. Now I have to search for all things Bee Gee.
This song should've been played on the radio
OMG how talent they had.
Wow... they sounded like in the 70s, 80s and 90s even earlier in the 60s. Pure Class.
I never get tired of this one. Mo gets to show off on his 12 string and they sing so beautifully together. Greatness from the start!
The quality of their singing is so good that I thought for a moment that they were lip syncing. But I have to believe it is live.
brilliant. Totally love the 60s sounds and this is a rare song that deserves to be given more recognition
You are so right, we hear all the later songs they sang but the earlier songs are forgotten about
This song should've been a big hit
I totally agree
In my eyes, music has no age! This is timeless.
I absolutely loved it.
I actually never heard this one before (until now). What a great song and what a great talent!!!
So talented at such a young age.
incredible
WOW
What a voice
I really like this song. Early Barry was already a great songwriter. He’s amazing and should be proud. I need to be able to put this on my playlist.
Thinking prob good idea Barry changed his hairstyle before arriving in the UK.😉
@@kthorWhat, you don’t like the pompadour? Lol. I like his boots! I think it’s quite a mature song for his age.
@@BGWhisperer It is quite a mature song for his age. Think I like his hair in Fine Line a bit more, but late 60s & 70s even better!🥰
Barry is a great songwriter and he just got more handsome as he aged.
SIMPLY THE BEST
Who would have thought about 13 years later they would be one of the biggest groups, with 5 in the top 10 in the charts
Robin Gibb’s voice was a gift from heaven. I have loved it my whole life, since I was 4 years old.
And so have I, since I was twelve, when the Bee Gees's first song became to Brazil, my country.
NONSENSE! Robin Gibb's voice was a natural attribute inherited genetically from his parents.
The music of our life!
@@neilforbes416 Same here with me, difference being I don't have that much green in the bank. Must be that special ingredient then.
Robin’s voice distinctive and so recognisable. Big part of the Bee Gee’s sound! Clear and warm! Wonderful stuff. Apart from a few today, such as George Michael for singing and writing too, the 1960-70’s just, we’re great. Video, over production and auto tune is a corruption of good pop music. I’m fed up of vocal antics, shouting, striding, strutting, posturing and over sexualisation of a lot of stuff today. AND it seems, this necessity of “attitude”. I know I’m an old geezer woman but I do like pop music and some as I say, is good but the majority has no purity or innocence however young they seem to get! I’m not grumpy! Honestly! 🤗
Really in a league only matched by the Beatles in diversity and originality as songwriters and performers - true artists!
I actually thought they were far better than the Beatles. Certainly in ability and longevity
Dang, these guys were good!
No band like these 3 brothers . They are genius and gorgeous. Lovely Bee Gees 💕💕💕
This is the BeeGees at their best. Just their voices and guitars.
I could listen to Robin sing this all day!
Me too!
Me too I replay several times just to hear him with his solo.
@@rosemarierivera8078 me too!

Me too! The amount of range and complexity to his voice gets me every single time. It’s almost like he could harmonize with himself. Love all the Bee Gees but he was always my favorite.
Barry Mr Handsome, Maurice Mr Beautiful and Robin Mr Sweet. And all three talented x1000
Very well put! 😊
What a simple, beautiful song. So creative for their age.
Quite a growth spurt between 1960 and 65
What a great set of voices. Great Music
Muarice is cc playing a 12 string guitar, wow,!!!
Mo could play just about anything you put in his hands!
Maurice*
It’s a Burns of London 12 string and they were very versatile tone wise
They were self-taught! Couldn't read music! God-given talent for sure!
@@ToddLorencUkuleleMusic that looks like an Eko Cobra 12 string..
Something Beatle-esque about their harmonies and melody

It never ceases to amazed me that the Bee Gees were a big act before Saturday Night Fever. Of course I was just 14 when Saturday Night Fever was released, so my musical tastes weren't even developed yet
JUST THE BEST. THE SOUND/ SONGS .AMAZING TALENT.
I never knew they were famous so young .🎁🎁💝🎈😘😘🍀🌷🌸

Wow! The twins have hit puberty!
I know!! I've been watching their early 60s performances and then you get to this song and oh my my
And then come 1972. And they were instant looking movie stars......
I think puberty is over lol!
Brilliant!!!
I was 9 years old when they did this song on Band Stand as I was 9 back in 1965 ! Been a fan though since age 11 ! Glad happy that we still have Barry but so sad that Robin and Maurice are gone now !
Does anyone else remember reading that their mom said she used to do their homework for them so they could practice their guitars? Turned out great!
No, but I remember her saying Robin was the one with the beautiful voice.
They dropped out of school in 1963 so they could perform full-time to support the family. They had to sacrifice their education, and if this happened today their parents would have been in serious legal trouble.
Absolutely wonderful, beautiful, real born talent ,
a song like an old wine
I always love to listen to their songs in 60's
emocionante la voz de Robin!!! muy linda.👍👍👏👏👏👏
Robin NICE Voice💞🌹
