- The girl who I met at the airport who had very little contacted the center before hand to check what their supply levels were. This center is so new and they had so much... I can only imagine other centers would have a solid supply as well.
I had mentioned the clothing from prAna and forgot to mention these pants I picked up at Target. THESE were WONDERFUL. www.target.com...
Here is the list from the center I went to:
Clothing:
~ shirts
~ pants
~ socks
~ underwear
~ down jacket, sweaters or other warm layers
~ slippers or house shoes - optional (outside shoes should not be worn inside)
~ hats, gloves, warm coats for colder months
Bring enough comfortable, loose-fitting clothing for the length of your stay. Temperatures at this center vary considerably by season. It may freeze at night, and it can still be hot during the day. There is some possibility of rain. Dressing in layers is recommended.
All students should observe the rules for modest dress as outlined in the Code of Discipline. Shorts, tank tops, transparent, tight or revealing clothing, etc. are not permitted. Tights or leggings should be not be worn as pants.
Outerwear:
~ warm jacket and raincoat
~ boots and/or rain boots
~ shawl and/or sweater
~ gloves
~ warm hat (can also be used during meditation)
~ umbrella
Meditation supplies:
~ meditation cushion and/or bench (a limited number of small/supplementary cushions are available)
~ mediation shawl or blanket - optional (separate from sleeping blankets)
~ small cushions for knees, etc. - optional
A limited supply of cushions is available, but please bring your own if possible. A floor mat will be provided for each student.
Bedding If Not Tenting: (they had soooo much extra bedding and pillows available, if you are tight on space, I would call/email your center and see if they have extra also)
~ sleeping pillow (not the same as your meditation cushion)
~ pillowcase
~ bottom sheet
~ sleeping bag and/or top sheet and warm blankets
IF TENTING
Tent:
~ ground cover
~ rain fly
Bedding If Tenting:
~ sleeping pillow (not the same as your meditation cushion)
~ inflatable sleeping pad
~ warm sleeping bag
Personal items:
~ if you snore, please bring Snore Tabs or a similar product
~ unscented soap, shampoo, etc.
~ unscented deodorant
~ other unscented toiletries (shaving and sanitary supplies, etc.)
~ please avoid using items with strong scents or perfumes
~ toothbrush and toothpaste
~ towel
~ unscented liquid laundry soap for hand washing laundry - optional
~ flashlight

camping with you is for sure amazing:)
As someone already inconveniently sensitive to smells, your tip on unscented body products is absolute gold to me, thank you! Except now I'm freaking out about other people wearing strong smells haha
Have a wonderful Vipassana, please do let me know how it goes! I hope its scent free
Loved your video. And especially the intention setting part. Thank You 🙏 Headed to Vipassana next week.
Seeing this a bit late, how was your Vipassana?! Where did you do it at?
I'm headed to Lava Hot Springs Vipassana Tuesday! Your packing list has helped me!!! Thank you:)
I’ll be there too. I’m not traveling very far but I’m being dropped off and it’s hard to know what to bring!
@@randomanda I’m totally over packing hahah! I live in Boise so I can just keep the things I do not need in my car!
Thanks. I added and subtracted a few things from my list.
I was wondering if those strap-style stadium seats for your back were allowed.
From what you said, I guess they have something similar if you need it.
I am headed for the Twentynine Palms center in about a month.
Cheers.
Thank you so much for this video.
Blessings on your Vipassana!
Thank you for this wonderful insight. I too am in the process of packing and a bit like you always organised and prepped. I was actually worried that will it look odd if I turn up with the big case and maybe the baby case too and thats just for clothes. Not planning to wash anything apart from myself when I am there.
Thanks for the advice! :D Looking forward to my session now
Yay! A wonderful journey, wishing you many blessings in it!
Great information ! I highly appreciate it ❤
Thank you sooo much for sharing, helped me a lot، for I am having a course at the same Center.
Rokhshana Daudi oh awesome!
Wishing you so many blessings with your practice. If you would like to share I’d love to know how it goes for you.
Thank you!💚🙏
What about hair dryer , do they have ? I get easily headache if I stay with wet hair :(
Hmm.. I'm sorry for the late response on this. I don't remember, and I think each location could be very different. If you have room to pack one though, I think you can do that. If anyone else has experience with this, can you make sure to comment?
Note to self: DO NOT eat the beans! Lol
LOL - this makes me giggle so much. I hope you had a great Vipassana.
@@soulwork333 lol I did not. It was one of the worst experiences of my life. But paradoxically has become a huge learning experience. Just learned how resilient I am. I feel deeply now for the people I've learned about who have such a crisis from it they don't recover. I have learned Goenka is not the only teacher, and his style is not for everyone. May all beings be safe, autonomous, and may anyone suffering be met with compassion and aid.
On a side note, during one of the meditations one girl ran out of the room "releasing gas" like big time, I wished we could have all laughed together, and I wanted to hug her big time, so you were right about the beans. ALSO for anyone reading, I wish I had brought a tea canister for myself like you said. I think that is solid advice.
