When I first saw this movie in theaters, I actually cried for Arthur. I've been in and out major depression and even had suicidal thoughts as a kid (I finally set myself an appointment to get checked out). Being 27 now, I still feel the effects. So at some level, I felt for Arthur. I remember being annoyed when I heard other movie goers laughing at his low points and hearing "freak" and "weirdo" being called out and it confirmed to me that the people in the movie exist in our reality. The men on the train, Arthur had every right to defend himself with the firearm. However, once the last guy runs off, he shouldn't have killed him, the threat was gone, Arthur should've ran. He committed murder with the last guy. And that isn't justified. Of course the higher class people (many not all) have no sympathy for the lower class working people. But I saw that EVERYONE around Arthur were also at fault. Normal people were treating him like trash and an outsider. There I was literally no one he could turn to. As a Army Vet, we turn to comedy to help cope with depression and other mental illnesses. However, your girl is correct. When you live in a negative world, negative energy and other events happen to you more often. And the reverse can happen. There are obvious environmental factors that cause negativity in your life. All it takes is a couple bad days for a person with a mental illness (like Arthur) to become a madman. Arthur Fleck kinda reminds me of Arthur Morgan from the Red Dead Redemption 2 game. He had tuberculosis, and was betrayed by his gang. He started to go slightly mad, and left his gang and got ambushed my them. He succumbed to his tuberculosis shortly after. After I saw this movie, I realized that you were only seeing this movie through the joker's eyes. His mom was delusional and thought she had a romantic relationship with Mr. Wayne and the joker was his child when in fact it was all in her head. Just like when the joker thought he had a romantic relationship with his neighbor lady when in fact he didn't. It left me wondering what parts of this movie occurred in the stories reality and what parts happened only in the joker's head. I did believe he did the killings though. This was brilliantly done.

There was a picture of his mom that he was looking at, right before he kills Randle, and on the back it says: "Love your smile - T.W.". What employer would write that to "just a regular employee". Arthur crumbles it up and has that look on his face like, oh well, I don't care anymore. That to me shows she could've been telling the truth about them. 13:06 When I saw this scene in theater last year, I knew Joker would kill the host (Robert De Niro) because the director took the exact idea of this scene from the Dark Knight Returns comic. In the comic, Joker used smile gas to kill EVERYONE in the talk show studio. I was like "dude, I never saw this movie before but this scene started to look familiar because I read the comic."😂😂😂
Oof, I remember reading that. That gas is horrifying. What got me really mad though was when Joker used it on those boy scouts at the carnival. Sick fucko. Brilliantly written character. Brilliantly written graphic novel.

Was he standing on the cop car surrounded by people? or was that in his mind as well? We don't know, because he would have been able to escape and not get caught. So then how did he end up at Arkham Asylum? There's no definitive answer, which is one of the wonderful things about tis movie. Glad that you enjoyed it too
I remember when I saw this in theatres I was so uncomfortable and tense the whole time and although at the end I could acknowledge it was a good movie, it just gave me a horrible feeling in my stomach. I get what you mean when you said it’s hard to describe how it makes you feel. I remember feeling kind of at war with myself because a part of me wanted to feel bad for him but he’s a psychopath and a murderer so obviously you shouldn’t feel bad for him. It’s weird. I don’t think I could stomach rewatching the full movie again though.
Imo Joaquins nervous laughing after shooting Deniro, while sitting there, is the best acting in the entire movie from him. His body shaking and real nervous laughing in that moment. Real as it gets honestly. I thought he was great throughout. But that really really stood out to me. That didn't feel like acting at all. You cut it out. The movie itself was just ok imo. Just a bit. And I get people caring about themselves. But rich people were always like that. This didn't even take place in current Era. It's took place in the 70s. There have always been awful people. So the movie imo was a little forced and some odd choices in spots. Like I get it. A little subtlety would have helped. And the music in spots. And the end was silly wjth him running throughout the hallway. And also felt like it bit off some old classics a bit. But Joaquin was amazing. Still not his best part. The Master he was better and the best work he's done. But he deserved an Oscar anyway. Btw, go watch Taxi Driver. Yeah idk about the most suspenseful movie ever. I respect your opinion. And I did like that the entire relationship was imagined. And I don't think he killed her no.
He didn't knew the kid was batman. But, if he knew he could have enjoyed the small detailing of the movie especially at the end of the movie. here, bruce wayne is being batman later because of the raise of joker and he became orphan like arther.then, arther also causes promptly the rise of the batman.so, it's an important thing to understand the characterization of the movie while watching it.
Dang it’s surprising he didn’t know the kid was Batman but it’s completely fine 😂😂 I grew up watching Batman, movies and cartoons. Batman is my 2nd favorite hero but wolverine my first
Funny. Joker is almost a remake of "Taxi Driver" that starred a young Robert DeNero. Robert DeNero was the talk show host that the Joker shot in the face on TV. That movie could stand alone, it didn't even need to be part of the Batman DC universe. It could have been titled Downward Spiral or the Crying Clown and it would be considered great.
Sorry, I'm watching this very late but I think your interpretation on how this movie really represents our own world and our world problems and I think that's why I really enjoyed this movie so much.

I think in some ways the interaction with the mother/kid on the bus is also a reflection of Gotham; that woman is probably dealing with her own crap and pushed to HER own breaking point, so for all she knows some weird guy making faces at her kids MIGHT actually be targeting her and her kid. I think the finance bros on the bus are different as they clearly sought out somebody to exert their own power on, but I can't totally fault a woman (with her kid) on a bus for having to have the same rough outer shell.

Was he standing on the cop car surrounded by people? or was that in his mind as well? We don't know, because he would have been able to escape and not get caught. So then how did he end up at Arkham Asylum?
There's no definitive answer, which is one of the wonderful things about tis movie.
Glad that you enjoyed it too
Bro your killing me! Lmao that kids Batman. moments like that are why I like watching your videos!
Broooo. The famous death in the alley where Bruce Wayne loses his parents… THE KID IS BATMAN.
I wish this was part of the dcu
It’s closer to “The King of Comedy” starring Robert deNiro playing an Arthur fleck character. And it’s directed by Scorsese
Cant Remember what videos I've already watched on the Main Channel, so I'm just going through and watching a bunch again lol. Kinda happy ngl
Thanks man lol

Omg the internet has a hard time understanding that people don’t know everything about iconic heroes/villains, or their origins stories, it’s not a big deal if people don’t know about it...none of this “everyone knows __” no...
Facts thank you

Nonetheless can’t wait to see your comeback and new posts! Don’t mind rewatching these I missed them
Haha thanks lol
The kid was batman bro
I think in some ways the interaction with the mother/kid on the bus is also a reflection of Gotham; that woman is probably dealing with her own crap and pushed to HER own breaking point, so for all she knows some weird guy making faces at her kids MIGHT actually be targeting her and her kid. I think the finance bros on the bus are different as they clearly sought out somebody to exert their own power on, but I can't totally fault a woman (with her kid) on a bus for having to have the same rough outer shell.
anyone else has no clue what she meant?
Bro you’re telling me you don’t know Batman’s origin story...
The Pogo name is a John Wayne Gacy reference.
Did he realize the kid was Bruce Wayne
He didn't kill his imaginary love interest.
U guys do know that kids Batman right
Joker killed Batman's parents!!
The fact that you didn't know "Bruce wayne" was batman......wow lmao
