    To all my friends,.. here it is! My new video and song is called "chary life". Honestly, I'm a bit nervous. This is more than just a drum video for me. Writing and producing songs, making music is passion. It's a creativ process that takes time. I just wanna say thanks to all of you for taking this time with me. I want to take this opportunity to say special thanks to everybody who supports me throughout this journey and works with me in the background, especially the entire Liner Studios family!
    Enjoy!... and feel free to share !

    Every UA-cam drummer in the world take notes. This is groove and the true art of drums at it's finest. It's not about how showy or choppy you can be. This girl has got it man! Solid groove and flow. Listen to that spacing omg and the use of her splashes and tiny nuances my god... Less is always more!

    You are definitly one of the best drummers on You Tube (guys or girls) PERIOD!What I love is you're showcasing your own style........ not copying what has already been done like just about everybody else on here!You and your style are both amazing....... so technical with perfect timing.I was in many bands growing up back in the 80's and none of the drummers I've worked with sounded even remotely as good as you.

    This is the third video I've seen of yours. You are incredibly gifted and inspiring, saying this as a fellow drummer. I'm blown away at the fluidity of your playing and your creativity. Your grooves, fills, etc. are mind-boggling yet you can still tap your foot to them, which is important with solo-centered music like this. Technique, groove, and creativity like this doesn't happen overnight. Keep up the good work. And, for the love of God, please keep these songs coming.

      Yup AmbarI Love the tone@ Snare.Also entire utilisation of the kit & more so, at which part of the music to go into double & 4 times in the normal 8 counts of one full bar. Resembles somehow from my point of view, is Mr. Shullai ( with sudden subtlety in the overall tone of the drums) while the rest of the instruments maintain their original level then back again the gradual increase of the drum tone to the original level. These are my personal opinion, what say!!***!

    This is one of the only female drummers I have seen who doesn't look like a female drummer. Yes, obviously she looks female, but I mean the way she moves looks natural and fluid, Other women drummers like Sheila E, or Meytal Cohen, or Cindy Blackman, or Hannah Ford, and/or others often look awkward when they play. Even though a nice groove comes out of it, they look all stressed and like they are working super hard to get it out. There are lots of superstar male drummers that make it look easy. This is one of the only women that make drumming look easy that I have ever seen.

    • @michellezito5542
      @michellezito5542 6 років тому +6

      Doesn't "look" like a female drummer? I think the way one 'moves' is determined not necessarily by gender, but by the way ones body is put together anatomically, as well as strength and last but not least, choice of technique- just like anybody else! If Sheila E. looks like she is straining for example, then perhaps you are misinterpreting that to mean weakness of some sort! Some of that 'movement' you mention is part of the SHOW, (using Sheila again as example) and appropriate for the latin-based up tempo tunes. There are no 'women drummers', just drummers. I have played for 30+ years and always wonder what to do with the gender-directed comments such as' you play great for a girl.' What exactly does that mean? Sorry but I am amused by these comments. They must arise from a conditioned inherent male response to 'women treading on so-called men's turf.' (Although I have heard women say the same things!) it is absurd. Forget that she's female! She's an amazing ultra-talented drummer. Period. (I'm going to try and borrow some technique. Haha! How about you???)

    I used to drum for about 5 years on and off when I was a little younger, stopped due to an elbow injury. Watching your videos is making me want to take it up all over again. Baby steps. Ordering a new practice pad first. I'm a little rusty! But thank you for opening up my eyes again to the wonderful world of drums. :) much appreciation from Australia!

    soulmate of the drum kit. i played drums a good part of my life and was blessed to see some of the greats of my time. what i hear here is some of the most precise, creative, cleanest drumming i can wrap my brain around. it is very much like i would want to play if i had that kind of talent. i reminded of a childhood inspiration, Mr. Bruford ~ No Rules. he also played Tama. but i will dissent here and cast my vote for the earlier Mapex kits, more fluid, nicer overtones, richer palette. you are kinda an Einstein on cymbals, testing the laws of thermodynamics. what a thing to make the world a better place with your gifts, bless you.

I dont see a second pedal but the shots of the beater are a bit blurry, all the same I dont think she is which is even more impressive I think. Im personally not a fan of the double pedal because I think in the wrong hands they are played badly very often. Just my opinion ahaha :)

    Have to say its the best song ive heard you write so far Anika. Wish it was on the EP I bought. writing a hook for a tune and underpinning it with a drumming masterclass isn't a gift everyone can do. You have a great team helping you, you can hear it in the mix the effort your friends have gone too. Love the keyboards particularly. Thank You... My wife's jealous but she does make an amazing garlic chilli chicken so unless you can do that as well...... Oh and my 2 year old son listens to your songs on the ipod and tries to play on his Roland HD1.
