I really appreciate how clearly you were able to explain what a business analyst does. I’m barely learning about this role, and found this video extremely helpful. Thank You!
I’m a student in Digital Marketing and Data Analysis: I’ll apply in 6 months like Data Analyst then in 1 years and a half I’ll apply like Marketing Analyst 😊
I’m gonna save people time, get lucky. That’s how you become one lol The job market right now is trash especially in the business field. You have to have about 5-10 years experience for a interview.
Thank you so much ! very useful information , I have an assignment for entry level Business Analyst role tomorrow and that was very helpful to start with ..
Hi l am come across your channel recently l live and work in London uk l am a professional working in the public sector with a degree in sociology, I am transitioning into project management and planning to study for CAPM certifications in project management, l have noticed that some skills which similar. Would welcome finding more in terms of both roles as project manager and business analyst. Mark from London.
If you have worked in a role as a real business analyst you would also pick up project management skills and vice versa. There are skills overlap between the 2 roles. When I say real business analysis I’m talking about the role and tasks defined by the IIBA and PMI cause a lot of people are confused especially in the USA when they say they do data visualization, python etc and they are a business analyst which is really either data analysis or business analytics.
this video is too generic. It's very difficult to break into a business analyst position right out of school. Pretty much all of the entry level positions require 2-3 years experience which is pretty ridiculous! Most or all companies no longer have training programs for graduates. They do not want to spend the money and resources to train a new graduate that's why so many graduates are unable to find that first job.. You practically have to get a ladmin or an assistant type job just to break down so very frustrating these days. Taking a certificate of business analytics may or may not help since thats not really on the job experience which is what most companies are looking for,
Great information , I am working in a banking securities operations role for over a decade , I have also done an introductory BA Course couple of years ago but still hesitant to start BA role. Need some good advice .
Great information Jen, I'm pursuing my bachelor's degree in supply chain, transportation, and Logistics Management. My goal is to be a supply chain data scientist focusing on artificial intelligence and machine learning. I would love your input on which master's degree program will fit my goals. Supply chain analytical vs Industrial and systems engineering. Thanks in advance.
Every career, every job, every profession, and every corporation is a business. Now go troubleshoot and organize. You have just become a business analyst.
With an accounting and finance background, which aspect of business analysis will you recommend? I am considering healthcare, finance and project analyst, which of these will be a good fit?

Thanks for this info! I’ve been a Chemical Operator for about 10 years in the Chemical and Manufacturing Industry. I plan on finishing my Bachelor’s in Business Management. I do plan on getting an MBA. Do you think there are options available for a Business Analyst in the Chemical/Manufacturing Industry?
Im 42 years old with huge customer service experience. After travelling over 80 countries in the world I want to start my journey to be a BA. Is it to late? I have zero experience but a friend of mine told me i would be a great one. Is there free certification? where to start? Thanks
I received a job offer for a BA 1 but the pay is well under what I am currently making do u think taking a pay cut to learn gain experience is something I should consider?
I would say save up as much as you can before taking the job, or do it part-time for experience due to pay, or maybe see about internships etc for experience.
I have done my bachelor's in Accounting and Finance, I'm looking to change my career into Business analytics, without having not much IT skills, can I make it?
I’d look into Business Analysis and not Business Analytics. It’s not the same thing. Business Analysts are professionals who do Business Analysis. Business Analytics is more data oriented which is more like a Data Analyst. I’m planning on getting a degree in Business Analysis. I’ve been doing a lot of research and it seems like people tend to confuse the two.
@michaelprovenza You could also get a low-level job for a company that helps pay for your degree and then apply for a Business Analyst job in that same company
Can an economics applied and political economy major become a ba ? I’m almost done with school so I can’t really change my major is it possible to become a ba
Yes. Anywhere data is available - an analyst can exist. For example, if you focus on an engagement ring niche. You can analyze the demographic in which people are likely to get engaged. From there, you can get the average income in that age group or that area - using that you can advise a jeweler on the type of rings to stock and the price point to penetrate the market from.

Too much talk about everything but nothing in concrete
The monologue is hard to follow as there are zero pauses in speach. Take a break now and then so the brain can process the information - pause.
