I found something interesting about me, (I recently realize I have ADD) I don’t have those dmm thoughts at all, maybe because my mother always considered me as a genius & whenever I failed to do my homework because it was so boring, she was doing them for me with a full confidence that I’ll pass the exam & already learned no need to do the mundane task.
I believe most of those thoughts are rooted in how we are perceived in the early years of our lives by the environment (parents & teachers etc.)

Absoluteky. How lucky for you. I've been severely persecuted always specifically for my adhd manifestations. and none so much as the last two years despite 45 years in between of growth and affirmation. Just as i felt mastery at 58yo and the taunting DeMoNs ran out of credibility my siblings swept back in to my life to ambush me with life crushing accusations. The comparison so sudden a turn meetings left me in no doubt as to how willfully those ideas were planted the first time around. It was never MY default mode. Which tends more to singing love songs to my cat in the sunshine. Its just the dMnetwork lets the trolls have airspace if someone puts them there. I want a reappraisal which traits may arise from societal punishment. LijKe Reactivity RSD anger frustration Odd etc and remove them from the list of symptoms to a list of complications arising from misdiagnosis and mismanagement. They reflect the brokenness of others. As your experience with your mum clearly suggests.

That's how I explained adhd for years, after reading Dr. Howewell. Adhd's not a disorder but a trait. I have a Ferrari brain, and smart enough to keep the right wife coach, and now years later, we've become part of the FIRE community. now figure that out.... smile . Hyperfocused on real-estate investments over the years having my wife coaching the Adhd in it all. Retired at 56. Passive income. All because I used the adhd Ferrari brain combo with Dreams of real-estate. What a 25 year ride.
