This literally happened to me. Had my mother colonist reeling over the death of their stupid child who wandered out deep into the wilderness and got eaten by a wolf (I have since learned to use zones); but surely the other 3 kids would be fine, right? Nope. 2 of them who were in cribs died instantly as the power cables I had exploded violently. The mother had to be restrained and imprisoned for the next in-game month hooked up constantly on yayo so she wouldn't go on murderous rampages (yes, she tried killing her very last living child). It was a total heap of a situation. Probably karma for torturing and forcing my prisoners to become colonist-birthing machines.
Once you're base is established and fully secure, bs stuff like this always happens. For me it was a plague event to a colonist that is currently away to trade. She had 1 medical skill.
this reminded me one time i had the forethought to actually get rid of the cables in the chemfuel storage room. funnily enough actually...the nursery was also right next to said room, with the cradles also right next to the cables...
That reminds me somehow of my childhood. There was this box on the wall with open wires in, probably in case you want to put a aditional power outlet in there. When i was 4 or 5 i figured out how to open that thing and i grabed in there, 240V fu**ing hurt... but i didn't learn my lesson and grabed in there 2 more times at the same day till my parents had enough and glued that thing together. Every time i grabed in there the fuse triggerd and the whole house was dark xD
Oh, had one of these in my storage room. Safe to say my chemfuel and CE ammunition stacks made for some nice fireworks... Lost like 90% of my base to those antigrain shells too. Even had a rimatomics nuke go off a long time ago because some pyromaniac thought "why not have a breakdown next to a nuke and set it on fire?". Couldn't draft and shoot him in time. Lost a lot of items and a couple pawns, but mountain bases work wonders at times when containing explosions.
remember kids, 8 batteries equals 4800 max power, 4900+ is when bomb damage starts (working as a wider grenade impact). don't let your power grid overloaded nor keep your babies close to wires, they will burn and explode.
I've playing it on and off for around 11 years, since alpha 11 or 12 i think. It's an amazing game, I recommend it 100%, but do download a handful of quality of life mods, they're fairly easy to install, the game has a mod manager built into it, and they don't affect difficulty, they just automate a few things you can do manually, which helps a lot in the mid to late-game.
you either never get into it or turn it on to play it for a little while, only for you to blink and all of a sudden you have a fourteen hour colony and a lust for blood
Only in Rimworld u could say
"Why is the baby on fire"
eh you'd be suprised the amount of times actual babies set themselves on fire.

If the storyteller was Cassandra, she saw a baby and went for it.
Missing foot? How much power goes through those lines? He should be missing more then that or at least have super powers.
you can see 2 bateries connected so around 800 ~ 1200 power
He was not hit with electricity per se. Conduit started to burn, and he just got caught on fire. Most likely explanation.

@@PosterityIslesNews yes, but still the child would be burned (just faster) not hit with lethal dose of electricity, therefore he could survive.
@@marekkowalski8645 yes he could, but babies are fragile and it doesn't take much for them to burn a limb off or something
