Because he asks mod makers on info about their mods, does great mod spotlights and is very respectful to the mod authors.
I love the server series. the chat between all the devs is awesome
The Clockwork Work engine is very clever in my opinion. It's the sweet but simple items like these that are the cornerstone of most mods.
Love Dire's vids... like a lot. Not sure what it is that makes them so awesome... and (admittedly) addicting.
the vinilla hoppers can do 90* angles. So you can have the hopper behind the pulverizer and then a chest ontop of the hopper. Full access. (if you have not already moved on from this build however many weeks ahead you are)
You don't need to use Hoppers to put stuff into a thermal expansion machine and chests has a small bounding box, so just move the chest down to the pulverize.
Direwolf. You can use a turtle for the grind stone. Use the turtle.attack() function and make it a loop under startup. A.d make sure you equip him with a crescant hammer.
and he helps them out alot by showing us what the mod does in his spotlights and lets plays
It's not really a problem, it won't affect gameplay or game mechanics in any way.
It's a chain helmet ,which is a VERY rare drop from chainmail-wearing mobs and is much much cooler than an iron helmet.
It's NOT a modpack, it's a private server to the developers of the mods present on the same, it serves as a testing platform where they can test they own mods and it's easier to test their compatibility with the other mods there as well.
I just had an awesome idea... Clockwork armor. If you take damage, it gets wound up and then gives you like a small buff. Like if the armor absorbs the damage, you get a little strenght + speed buff or something :P

my point is, a turtle who is able to charge the clock work engine gets about the same power-effort ratio in my opinion as getting a lava pump setup, and mass production of power using turtles + clockwork engine isn't going to happen anyway
you're better off using a stirling engine, filling them manually with water buckets as they dont use much. You can make charcoal, or use lava if near by for longer run times.
Not talking about the amount of power produced, but about the resources needed and how often you will interact with it. The amount of time that you spend to build one, you could do a hobbyst steam engine.

In his interview with the Shaft Podcast, he basically said that he likes his series to be an introduction to FTB and big modpacks, and because Gregtech MASSIVELY changes many things that it wouldn't really fit.
place the clockwork engines under the pulverizer and furnace with some stairs to allow access to right click them then you can also use the hopper.

Yeah, it's a complete game-changing mod that changes EVERY SINGLE BLOCK of minecraft into it's own.
Clockwork engines were added in version 2.2.0.0 of forestry, and that's for 1.5.1 MC, so probably only when all mods update to 1.5
Technically you're correct, but I enjoy collecting stuff (which is probably why I like mods like Thaumcraft and Xeno's Reliquary) and he could put it on a Bibliocraft Armor stand later on.
Yes they can. Sadly, there is no vanilla wrench so they just point at whatever you were pointing at when you place them.
Redstone engines can only be used to power wooden pipes, but not wooden conductive pipes. At least, that's what I heard was the intention.

it doesn't cost time at al to build one, also they're giving a very nice amount of minecraft jouls, so they are a nice for early game, and I admit i don't like winding them up and thats why I'm also using hobbiest steam engines but they're also nice
If you'd read the Tinkers Construct books, you'd know that you need that smeltery multiblock structure to make tools with any metal :)
Check the BC wiki. Redstone engines now only work on the Pump and the Mining Well (min 2)

It's good for centrifuge and some other things. Also, it adds more endgamey things, like the fusion reactor.

Ferma on its own is "stop", but "Terraferma" in Italian is Mainland.
The name of the mod is Terra Firma, meaning in latin: Solid Earth.
Firma isnt a word in Italian.
You can find it in the FeedTheBeast modpack BUT the version they use has a lot of betamods in it, the public one does not
yes, it's in the config of thaumcraft, you just need to activate it, run the world, and then deactivate it, it's over the end of the config if i remember corectly
Clockwork chronicles is a pretty good book I'm saying that because this is named clockwork engines
He seems to have chosen sticking to his 9x9's? Honestly, Dire is a more of a tech builder, not a fancy structures one, and I think that's just fine, I wouldn't even care if it was always just cobblestone, after all that's not the style of play he goes for. I can say I learned alot of mods and their interactions by watching Dire, and for me that's what counts.
If it has ghost items that means you need to get the items in the appropriate slots. It's suppose to do that

The Forgecraft server is filled with mod makers because it is the private mod testing server. Dire is a "professional" mod tester and promoter, so that is why he is on the server. He has not made a mod because it is hard and Dire has admitted to not knowing enough coding to even start one. Plus it would be hard to balance a job, family, social life, UA-cam, and programming.
I believe it's because he likes the default skin. I do recall, however, him asking Eloraam to make him a fez to go with it.
dire you can hold rightclick on the grindstone to grind. you dont need to click

Wow, just realised that I actually found something out before Dire (apart from vanilla), I found out about the clockwork engines ages ago...
Last time I checked they did. Well hopefully rp2 comes back and we can use deployers or if redstone signals work you could set up a repeater system
The only thing I don't like about Gregtech is the Solar Panel recipe, which you can change in the configs. Gregtech is a good mod.

you can't, the mods they use on the server are alpha and beta versions of new builds of mods, you can't get the exact same mods as there are on there but you can get the older versions of them that are open to the public

its a simple program that allows ppl in a "room" to talk to each other. It like an xbox live party but more complex with more options

If you press a number when hovering over an item in the inventory it's gonna place the item in that slot number :)
I've heard that Forgecraft 3 is an experimental TerraFirmaCraft server they're trying out, since one of the Forgecraft devs (Bioxx) is also the developer of TFC.
I like the friendly nature of some game's community like minecraft's or Borderlands2's and the reason why we don't like haters is beacuse they are angry for no reason

Dire instead of burning wood planks you should try converting some of your logs into charcoal, as its more efficient.

That happens because the game is iterating over the recipe dictionary to find the items/shape in order to show it to you, there isn't really a way to 'fix' it, other than getting a better computer.

A golem who can wind a clockwork engine would be nice as an upgrade.

Tinkers Construct is 1.5.X, which means it would work on both 1.5.1, and 1.5.2. :)
Its not a public modpack its just a server whit mods that their devs want to test on mp.And the mods have some features that are not public,u can get in this server if u have a good big mod and then u need to apply and wait to get a reply or if u have some relations whit the ppl from it u can prbly get in.

The clockwork is like free power tho, otherwise if you use THAT MUCh coal you will run out pretty quickly early.
dire put the hopper behind the pulveriser and then put the chest on top and then a stair on top of that and you can open the chest and the pulveriser
it won't be a modpack, it is a server where they test out the latest versions of their mods

well, that's difficult question, it makes IC very expencive, and you don't take much advantage from Greg's machines. Also he replace few IC recipes(you can turn off them of course), as result dire willn't use greg tech anyways, and most of others players on the server, it's just have no point except tutorial thing and maybe some experiments.

you can't. you just have to have an energy cell in your inventory and the armor will draw from the cell.
Really? They're really freaking useful in the early game, once you've got enough gold and stuff you're pretty much set until you want to start doing stuff automatically. I'd say their (relatively) cheap price is warranted by what they do.
