Just one guy's suggestion, but I found it easier, almost essential to take the windshield wipers clear off the car. There is a 16mm Bolt under a snap on plastic cover that pops right off. Makes it much, much simpler. BUT, just do one at a time so you know where to place the thing when you bolt it back on .. the right blade fits below the left blade when at rest on the bottom of the windshield.
Hey Richard- yeah you can do that! Sounds like you paid attention to detail and were careful- I know some people get their wipers out of sync sometimes if they don't put them back in the same spot they were in OR they accidentally turn the wiper motors. Your method sounds step by step though and hard to mess up. Nice.
On an Escape, If you take them off, they must go back exactly like they were or they will hit each other and be destroyed. Take a picture with your phone before removing them. There areas marks on the windshield to help realign them.
Hey Matthew- thanks for the additional info- that's interesting- what wiper blades were you installing by chance? Were they the same BOSCH ones we used in the video? I also have a '13 so I'm surprised, but great to know! Sorry for the huge delay here- hope all is well on your end.
@@HowToEscapeDIYTipsandReviews I My 2013 Escape used the number 2 adapter as well for some reason. Bosch wipers. Anyway, they are on now and thankyou for the video, it was very helpful.
Oh nooooo! Ugh that must have been rough. I'm not sure a blanket or a quilt would be enough, would it? Moreso a pool noodle or something on the wiper arm haha. Those springs are strong. Sorry you went through that and thanks for the tip!
Don't forget the engine air filter which is a PITA, and as mentioned, the battery. I too bought a pair of blades that will not fit my 2017 Escape. Great driving cars but but the only easy job on them is brake pads.
Thank you, finally the right video to really show me how to do.
Thank you very much for this video, it was super helpful in changing the wiper blades on my 2019 Escape!
Great job of explaining!!!!
Perfect explanation. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!

@@HowToEscapeDIYTipsandReviews Never thought I'd pay $19 EACH for a pair of windshield wipers.... Crazy times.

Same with a 2019? (last year of that generation). Looks straightforward enough. Thanks.
I just purchased some Simoniz wiper blades and they do not have the adapters for my 2018 Escape. Can the sdapters be purchases separately?
My 13 escape used adapter 2 not number 4. Just adding some info

What wiper would you recommend for the back window on a Ford Escape 2017?
Lay a blanket or quilt across your windshield in case the arm skips out of your hand. It WILL break your windshield. Don’t ask me how I know. $300

I'll never buy a ford because of this garbage
You would love changing the batteries on one of these. Have to remove the whole windshield wipers!
Hah! Truly though- they don't make it easy!
Yeah, this is one of the less strange things about this car unfortunately haha!
