- Stock handlebars felt unlike cruisers, so I got my SM a custom made raised handlebar through Gabriel Motorcycles in Pune.
This one feels very comfortable and my body blesses me, worth every bit of the INR 6,000 spent for it.
Get in touch with Conan from Gabriel Motorcycles on +91 99606 47050 for any custom metal work. They're based in Pune but I'm sure they will ship across India and outside too.
@Gabrielmotorcycles
Some other jobs planned:
-- Center set foot-pegs for occasional off-roading
-- Thick bars on saddle stay for camera mounts
-- Wider crash guards (maybe)
-- Tail tidy
Let me know what you'll think of this handlebar and have you changed the handlebars on your motorcycles!?! - Авто та транспорт
This video is well done. I want a high handlebar, but I'm scared about cables. RE put in exposition high handlebar but sell low handlebar. This video is a light in the dark. I think will follow the light .😊😊😊😊😊
Thank you so much!! This comment made my day :-)
That was the very first question I had about the SM and wondered why no one was addressing it. To me you can clearly see in all of the pictures of people riding : how awkward the riding position is with the stock handlebars. I haven’t had an opportunity to get to my closest RE dealer (350 miles away…USA) and sit on one for myself yet.
Exactly...on the contrary, everyone said the bars provide good riding posture. I had to change - even shorter 10 mile rides were hurting and so glad I did. Wow 350 miles, that's half a day's drive right? If you're planning to get one for yourself, I'd highly recommend getting a proper test ride. Good luck!
Yes, if I bought one and rode it home, I would be 50 miles past my first service before I got there LOL.
You did it man
Yo!!
Because of this video, I ordered the same ones
That’s great to know 😊
Great video and smart of you for getting that custom handle bar . I’m so tempted to trade in my Meteor 350 for a Super Meteor 650!
Thank you so much! Long rides are so much more comfortable with this handlebar. You should definitely trade-in the 350 for this one!!
@@autorevvvOh man . Your recommendation is going to get me in so much trouble with my family 😂. I think I am now fully convinced to get the super meteor 😁.
@@mustanggt5713 Hahaha, Yo!! go for it. The feel of twin cylinders will get you hooked.
@@autorevvvOh , I’m sure ! I appreciate your work . Subscribed !
@@mustanggt5713 Thank you!! Keep me posted on your upgrade :-)
cool..felt so too..wish it had the option to pull the foot pegs, gear n brake back to a more neutral standard position..i did that to do my TB500 and it is soo much better ...
Hey ditto - I had changed the handlebars on my 2013 TB350 as well. Yes on SM you either need pulled back handlebars or pegs in the center. Stock setup is poor ergo.
like this video..keep up the good work..new subscriber
Thank you so much!! Means a lot :-)
Great video bud 🤘🏻 did you get any coating done?
Coating on the bike? Nah man not yet, planning to get either ceramic or graphene. Handlebar is SS with powder coating
Can you please give me some photos of where you ran the clutch wire and the other wires? thank you in advance
Hey thanks for stopping by, sadly I did not click any pictures, but once the tank comes off, the routing is easier. Stock routing is unnecessarily complicated.
I have only just got my SM 650 tourer. It came with a OEM windscreen and yes there is a lot of buffeting round my head. I'm 5'9". I may try a extension.🙂
Exactly, there are many good extenders available. My only concern with extenders is that somehow they spoil the look of the motorcycle. RE missed a trick by not providing an adjustable windscreen. Maybe a taller after market shield would help. All the best and congratulations on your SM! Which color did you go for?
These bars look great .Good job .
Thanks so much mate 😊
Will the changes impact during insurance claims …… what was your experience on the rear view mirror angle after the handle bar change
This won't affect the warranty/insurance as all cabling was stock. No cutting / adjustments were needed. Rear view mirror angle feels better, more in line of eyesight.
No you dont have a short hand but the stock handlebar doesnt give a correct poster of a cruiser. Now with the new handlebar it looks more appropriate.
Hahaha thank you man. Came across very few people who thought the same. But yeah with these raised bars, it’s a completely different level of comfort while cruising. Perfect laid back posture.
@@autorevvv you know may be Royal Enfield doesn't have a clear knowledge on cruiser I'm not an expert but I feel one must cruise in a relax manner which you have made with yours but RE didn't made it that way in the first place. Am I being too rude with RE?
@@sukhamsingh4548 Nah you’re right. They always seem to get the cruiser dynamics wrong slightly. Even the TBs had ergonomic issues. I had changed my handlebars back then as well. I guess they prefer to take a safer route - a please all design that doesn’t offend many. Enthusiasts can always customise their machines later
@@sukhamsingh4548 As long as the engine / drivetrain is good, these things can be lived with or changed. And their twin cylinders are sweet. My only gripe is the rear suspension 😞
Yup you make sense. Btw could you share Gabriel motorcycle's Instagram link?
I like stock handlebar
Ur custom handlebar bar is looking like luna😂
Hahaha 😝
Please do a Tripper delete and Mount the main pod in the center❤
I WILL do that!! Trippr is anyways useless. Thank you for the suggestion mate
@@autorevvv I'm excited 🙌🏼
Hey! I liked your video! I was just asking what is the measurement of your handlebar? the thickness and hight. Thankyou.
Hey thanks so much! Height is around 5 inches taller than the stock, thickness is 28mm
@@autorevvvthank you!!
You have shown a comparison in stock and modified things
Yes!!!
Hi! I still don't understand whether it is necessary to extend the clutch, gas and brake cables when installing a mini ape or not?
Hi there for the mini ape you won’t have to use aftermarket cables or extend them - it can be a direct fit but you will have to re route the cabling from under the fuel tank. Hope this was helpful.
@@autorevvv Thank you, Bro!
@@autorevvv One more question. Is the mini ape 10 or 12 inches?
@@user-nr8yu4kk5n I suppose 10 inches but not sure - mine is a custom made handlebar 11 inches. The Mini Ape available on bykology.com is 10 inches.
@@autorevvv Thank you, Bro!
Amigo buenos dias. Cual es la marca y la referencia del manillar? Gracias super video.
Gracias mi amigo. El manillar está fabricado en mis motocicletas Gabriel en la India. La persona de contacto es Conan y su número es +91 9960647050
Shouldn't the handlebar on center be 1 inch?
Hey it's a little thicker than 1 inch.. 28mm to be precise
Brother may i know the height and width of the handlebar ? Center width specially. Thanks
Hey thanks for stopping by - this is 2 inches wider and 4 inches taller than the stock handlebar
Ok Thankyou 👍🏻
What's the thickness of the stock handlebars? 22 or 25mm?
25-26 I think
Its 1", pretty hard to find the info online
@@gpsboladao8874 yeah it’s not mentioned anywhere, I measured using a tape 😬
Can you install a straight handle bar
Yes you can get a Hot Rod style handlebar too. I prefer these raised “ape” style ones.
@@autorevvv can u put a link to those?
@@dronefilmsgermany Vardenchi makes Hot rod bars for Super Meteor. Get in touch with them - vardenchi.com/collections/handle-and-controls/products/hot-rod-handle-re-interceptor
Having a straight up back posture will have impact on our spine while going over a bad patch of road, especially with the stiff suspension in the meteor 650. It is better to slightly lean forward so that direct effect on the spine can be avoided.
Hey thanks for your comment. The rear suspension of SM is so stiff it will anyway affect the lower back. This custom handlebar atleast helps to keep a posture that comforts the shoulders and upper back. Leaning forward posture hasn't been the most comfortable for me.
@@autorevvv choose what is best for you. 👍
Feels the handlebar is a lot higher should have been lower
hey this one suits me perfectly, I wanted it higher and towards me. This saves me from back and shoulder pain on long rides!
Thanks for sharing this handlebar review bro. I am planning to get one for myself also. If you don't mind, Can i get your contact number. Just wanted to have a word to understand few things before placing order with these guys.
Sure mate, will be happy to help. You can email me on smile.shaik@gmail.com and we can connect!
Got myself this handlebar. Looks good. But feels like there's some more refinement required on the handlbar design.
@@manjunathrm7633 hey that’s great! You got it from Gabriel? Same design or different? Message me on my insta @autorevvv
