Hi Dave another excellent episode. I met you at route 59 on Sunday and the pleasure was all mine sir. Keep up the good work. Onwards and upwards. You are an inspiration to all let's say older bikers!😊
That was a lovely ride out, Dave! Great bike roads, wonderful scenery and next-to-no traffic. The shorter screen make the view better for us and I'm glad to hear that the bar risers, altered tyre and suspension settings have given you the desired ride and handling result. 👍
As a fellow Yorkshiremen and biker I am still truly amazed at just how beautiful Yorkshire is, we are indeed lucky to be able to ride our bikes in such an awesome county 😄
As much as I love the Royal Enfield resurgence Dave, I feel with the ammount of videos I watch were RE owners have changed original equipment... That in 10 yrs all interceptor variations will end up like Trigger's brush. 😊

Amazing scenery! Thank you for sharing. I’ve got to get myself over to Yorkshire some day. My ancestral homeland. I’d always imagined it would be a bit more crowded. Not so bucolic. It’s going to be cold again so you may find a degree of condensation will occur. Remember warm air holds more moisture - increase ambient temperature and relative humidity falls. On dry windy days with little cloud let the air run through your garage and dry it out. I ran a business for many years dealing with water damage properties for insurance companies - and in particular seriously flooded houses - I had to create a ‘balanced drying regime’ using heat, air movement and dehumidification and if the policyholder opened windows I was wasting my time - why? Because heat would escape, moisture would pass from the outside into the house thereby negating the efficiency of a dehum. I live in a new build and there are plenty of vents front and rear - on balance this is the best thing to keep my garage dry.

Thanks Dave, I enjoyed the sunny ride over the moors, when I rode down the Pennines last November it was wet, windy and murky most of the way. A nice run out on what looks like a lovely weather day. North Yorkshire is beautiful countryside - and no wind turbines on the horizon to spoil the view. Sadly some of the scenic areas of south and west Scotland are now covered with them. But that is progress some say.
Very nice ride with great looking scenario! I'm a new owner RE Super Meteor 650. I also noticed back suspension to be adjusted and the handlebar too low for me (I'm 1,80). Thank you for the advices. Now i'm waiting for rhino exhaust slip-ons I ordered 10 days ago.
Wow.. thanks Dave.. you’re so lucky with the beautiful dales to ride through. Lovely views, wildlife, a mate and a cafe what more could you need on a bike?
I feel pretty lucky to be on the edge of the Peak District but the scenery up your way is something else. I take delivery of a new bike a week tomorrow, I think I’ll do some running in miles up there.
Some gorgeous roads there. It’s good that the risers helped. I did the 2 clicks on the 350 Meteor, big improvement. Just awaiting my Tom Hurley fettled Touring Seat. Lowered, and fettled on the seat edges, and internals replaced with medical gel/memory foam.😊 Hopefully do a video on this.😂 Best wishes. 😊
Hi Dave. Just checked the tyre pressure label on my Super Meteor. It indicates for solo riding Front 41psi and rear 36psi. I have set the rear suspension up a couple of notches and that seems to have made the ride less harsh. Lot less traffic up North than the Southeast and appears better road surfaces.
My USA Super Meteor owner's manual, Edition 7-7-23 also states 41 & 36 solo. So far, I'm down to 38 psi on both with the shock up two notches from softest. Will probably go lower (175# rider).
Hi great episode and very useful information. The first thing I noticed when I got my Super Meteor was the very stiff rear suspension,I will definitely try what you suggested and thank you.
Glad to see someone putting Barkbusters on a cruiser. All of my bike have those. So when a pickup truck got me in the left cross, and my bike smacked into the side of it, my hands weren't injured.
@@thebingleywheeler Oh yes, thanks. It was awhile back during my first year of riding. I rolled up and flew over the hood of the truck, landed on the ground in a ball, unrolled. Greetings from Brazil! That's an absolutely top-notch job! By the way, I happen to have the same model of motorbike as yours-my beautiful Celestial Red. Cheers!
One up my W800 uses 28psi front and 32psi rear and the tires are much narrower than on the Super Meteor. 36psi one up seems way to high for that bike. The W800 requires 36psi rear for two up riding or loads above 250lbs. Third position is where I run my rear suspension when one up. I put 20mm bar risers on My W and it made a significant difference for me. Cheers BJ
On condensation issues, if you have a south facing wall on the garage look at solarventi. For petrol, living in Yorkshire you have Esso super availble which does not contain ethanol although by law they have to mark it as E5.
The standard bar position would make sense if it didn't have forward controls? Straightish bars and forwards make it uncomfortable for any distance riding. Hopefully the risers will alleviate this?
Even though I've ridden bikes for some 50 years suspension and how to set it up has always been a mystery to me. I changed the rear suspension on my GoldStar to new upgraded shocks from tec because of the crappy roads in Lancashire and my not considerable weight its made a considerable difference and I've got them on position 3 and i think that's best but it is a guess.

Hey up Dave. Isn't it ironic that the best light is usually after a storm or inclement weather 🤗. Right, I'm off to watch the video in full now 👍😁. Yep, bars look perfect now 👍. I never run stock tyre pressures as they're chosen by the manufacturer for the average weight of rider for an average range of temperatures. It can significantly improve comfort whilst having little or no effect on handling. Looking forward to the exhaust upgrade next 😊

Nice video Dave. TEC have some seriously good products, at reasonable prices. You mentioning when subscribers come and chat, I have had a couple come over to me in the most obscure places. One by Buttermere, the other at a campsite in North Wales, bizarre 😂.
Hi Just sending you a message about one of your back vids when you first got to motto guzzi v7 and you were showing us around it, when you were showing us the speedometer features, I noticed that it said it was only averaging out at 26.7mpg I think, that's very low mpg I don't know whether it's improved since then? On the motto guzzi website there is very conflicting fuel statistics, some say 46 mpg , some are 56 mpg and every now and then you get some that say 64 mpg, I can't believe that myself but if you could give us an update what it is averaging out at now may go up a bit more when you have had the first service. I would be grateful if you could let me know, It's just that I was thinking of purchasing one for myself but I'd definitely kicked that into touch if it had very poor mpg, I mean the Yamaha MT10 has got better fuel miles than the guzzi 😂😂 and that's a thirsty brut Pete
Loving my Super Meteor but I am confused over tyre pressures. When I took delivery I checked the owners manual (page 69) which says 41 front and 32 rear, which in my experience can’t possibly be right. I called my dealer who says they recommend 36 fronnt and 42 rear, which is how I have been running since. Any thoughts?
36/42 is a generic pressure for bigger bikes though to be fair the SM is 241 Kilos. 41 front seems extreme even for a 19 inch wheel. The 32/36 figure comes from the Ceat web site as the pressures for “all Royal Enfield 650 twins”. It’s a confusing picture!
Morning BW! When are you posting the video of you fitting the shiny new Tec exhausts to your Supermeteor, you know the one in the second most popular colour? 😉
Hi. Just want to clarify something. I too have a Super Meteor 650 and in the hand book, under the Tech Specs it says Tyre Pressures: Front 41 psi, Rear 36 psi. Both times you mentioned about the tyre pressures you said Front are list at 32 psi which obviously contradicts what is says in my hand book. Is the hand book wrong, a mis-print maybe? I wouldn't have noticed had I not looked this up only last night with a view to checking mine. Cheers. Ps. Lovely ride out, beautiful location and scenary. So jealous.
@@thebingleywheeler Hmm, that's interesting and somewhat confusing. Logically, as the front is the smaller of the two wheels you would expect it to be a higher psi than the rear as that is generally the case with tyres, the smaller the tyre the higher the psi. I think this requires a little more research. Thank you for the reply.
@thebingleywheeler Hi again. I've been trawling the tinterweb regarding the front tyre pressure. I did find the Ceat site which although it doesn't appear to include the Super Meteor 650, did list the Continental 650 (close enough?), and as you say it lists it as 32psi. I also found this on UA-cam: ua-cam.com/video/2BFMeUNGt0Y/v-deo.htmlsi=8LZc0biRCitYcyPc Please note the tyre pressure information given at time line 5:25. You will also see that the tyre size is correct, ie 100/90-19. I'm not at all suggesting that your info is incorrect, after all I've found a lot of info confirming the 32psi, I merely want to ensure I have the correct pressure for my own safety. I look forward to hearing from you. Cheers
@@thebingleywheeler The thing is the other RE 650 twins have a very different wheel type (spoked with tube vs cast alloy tubeless) and very different wheel sizes (especially the rear wheel) so I don't think there is any comparison. I also have a Super Meteor Celestial model, and my owners manual and the sticker on the frame says front 41psi, rear 36psi for a solo rider. I don't mean to be argumentative, however I am concerned there could be a safety issue?
What works for you sir. I'm currently running 34psi front and 38psi back plus within the first 500 miles I increased my rear shocks by two notches. One or two up my Super Meteor handles just fine. Now what do they say about great minds 🤣🤣🤣. Safe cruising sir 👍.
Stop licking em Dave and put a dehumidifier IN the room and a small fan as well I NEVER directly put the airflow from the dehumidifier directly on my bikes I always point it towards far walls also I have a vapor barrier in mine it makes it sweat for its not insulated as of yet....I do heat the first floor for them at times constantly running them and periodically charging them on the trickle charger......
l sometimes 'go for a ride' and think 'what the hells happened to the suspension and handling!!. The bike has that vague, uncomfortable feel, You've changed nothing, adjusted nothing since your last ride, but you might as well be on a different motorcycle. I've thought for ages that weather, atmospheric pressure all have an effect on the viscosity of oil and the air gap in the suspension making it react differently. Truth be known l envy your rides across the wild landscapes of Yorkshire...
@@thebingleywheeler l went out for a ride in the mountainous region inland from Alicante yesterday... temperature was approx 25-6c.... very windy at higher elevation. However I'm not riding on wet potholed roads.... l cant believe the state of some of UKs road network. The last time l rode a motorcycle in UK was in the mid nineties....
I think your tyre pressure as manual are way out!!! As far a as notch adjustment we were doing that a year ago. Check your manual for recommended PSI.!!!
Front tyre pressure is way too low. 41 front 36 rear. 30 front is way too low. The grooves will close up and wont effectively displace water when its wet!
Bing, at the end, you show a British flag in black with a royal blue line through it! Could you please explain that to me? I would suspect that it means a respect for someone/something. Doug

30 - 32 psi is fine on most ,, just as long as the tyre is inflated enough so as it does not flex side to side to affect the handling ,,, this is not gospel expert advice - but when i have taken bikes out with low pressure and the tyres flex it is scary ;; also when tall [ 6' 2'' ] it may be thought that we can reach any bar [ handle ] with ease and comfort ,,, but this is NOT the case as you have explained ,,, everyone is different and have preferences ,, i noticed that eddie came out at the end to do the checking on the bar fit --- not trusting you ;;

My Dad was a Yorkshire man born in Leeds, always talked the truth and never put up with people's Bull"hit. 😉
Cheers David I enjoyed my R nine T 👍🏻
Yes we are blessed round 'ere.....its a great route. Too stiff and too heavy for me and then there is the Shotgun coming......just how many varients using the RE twin will there be ? Even though my 70's CX's are a tad heavy they have to be the most comfortable bike ever made. There's a bike for everybody ! We are lucky enough to have these toys which are actual modes of transport in much of the world mainly well under 400cc !
What an entrance, epic music with an epic view of Yorkshires beauty. Well done!
Yes, I am gushing. Haha!😂😂
Glad to hear the changes have made your riding experience better and I would love to see a similar ride on the Guzzi as she's a beaut.
Keep up the good work, fella. I am enjoying the content immensely. 😁
God bless. 👍🏿
Cheers buddy and will do 😊👍🏻
Heyup , I love that run , I come from rawtenstall,,grassington, pately bridge ,lofthouse, masham,Leyburn, kettlewell, home , I love seeing the view over tops to masham ,and kites ,eagles always seem to be up there . keep safe you fellow coffin dodger TommyTickle
Yes it’s one of my favourites for sure 😊👍🏻
Nice video Dave. TEC have some seriously good products, at reasonable prices. You mentioning when subscribers come and chat, I have had a couple come over to me in the most obscure places. One by Buttermere, the other at a campsite in North Wales, bizarre 😂.
Hi Ian yes they’re a great company and very supportive too 😊👍🏻
I can see the point though Dave, as personally I feel with cruiser forward pegs, the bars should come to you, not you to bars.. If that makes sense.
I thought that you might have to increase the length/ lengths of the cables. Do they become tight?
Tighter but still free
I made the experience that simply putting a canvas cover over the bike will protect it from condensation.
hi did you have any problems with the cables for risers
No all very straight forward
Hi
Just sending you a message about one of your back vids when you first got to motto guzzi v7 and you were showing us around it, when you were showing us the speedometer features, I noticed that it said it was only averaging out at 26.7mpg I think, that's very low mpg I don't know whether it's improved since then? On the motto guzzi website there is very conflicting fuel statistics, some say 46 mpg , some are 56 mpg and every now and then you get some that say 64 mpg, I can't believe that myself but if you could give us an update what it is averaging out at now may go up a bit more when you have had the first service. I would be grateful if you could let me know, It's just that I was thinking of purchasing one for myself but I'd definitely kicked that into touch if it had very poor mpg, I mean the Yamaha MT10 has got better fuel miles than the guzzi 😂😂 and that's a thirsty brut
Pete
Eddie's ears, great scenery and wisdom 🎉 love it ❤x
Thank you 🙏 his ears feature far more than is good for him and he has selective deafness 😂 ❤️ x
Nice one TBW, tec parts are quality.....😊
@@thebingleywheeler thanks for that. I’ll give the lower pressures a try.
Will reducing tire pressure by 2 psi noticeably reduce tire life?
Don’t think so
When I first got my Interceptor I installed motone custom up andovers
Beautiful scenery 👌
Morning BW! When are you posting the video of you fitting the shiny new Tec exhausts to your Supermeteor, you know the one in the second most popular colour? 😉
Tomorrow morning Trevor 😊👍
Where you get the dark wind shield from?
Now that the Honda has gone will you be changing the title slide ?
Andy.
I’ll have to after next week I guess 😎👍🏻
Adjusted suspension like yourself and reduced tyre pressure 2 psi, does make big difference
So jealous.
The Ceat web site says 32/36 for all Enfield 650 twins but it may have been pre supermeteor
I also found this on UA-cam:
ua-cam.com/video/2BFMeUNGt0Y/v-deo.htmlsi=8LZc0biRCitYcyPc
Please note the tyre pressure information given at time line 5:25. You will also see that the tyre size is correct, ie 100/90-19. I'm not at all suggesting that your info is incorrect, after all I've found a lot of info confirming the 32psi, I merely want to ensure I have the correct pressure for my own safety. I look forward to hearing from you. Cheers
Follow the guidance in your hand book is the best way to go 👍🏻
The front wheel is narrower but at 19” it is bigger in diameter
My manual shows front tyre pressure 41 psi solo or with pillion.
Yeah mine too
I'm a bit confused about the tyre pressures you mention, my Super Meteor says 41 rear and 36 front. Am I missing something?
Numbers for the other 650s
@@thebingleywheelerI got these numbers straight off the sticker on the frame of my Super Meteor, the one down near the back wheel.
Ceat say 32/36 for their tyres on all RE 650 Twins
@@thebingleywheeler The thing is the other RE 650 twins have a very different wheel type (spoked with tube vs cast alloy tubeless) and very different wheel sizes (especially the rear wheel) so I don't think there is any comparison. I also have a Super Meteor Celestial model, and my owners manual and the sticker on the frame says front 41psi, rear 36psi for a solo rider. I don't mean to be argumentative, however I am concerned there could be a safety issue?
I am a subscriber and I really enjoy your channel, cheers Felix 😀
I can only tell you that my garage came with a air powered roof vent and I have had no condensation problems
You've moved the bars back, not forward with the risers.
Forwards to me whilst on the bike 👍🏻
What works for you sir. I'm currently running 34psi front and 38psi back plus within the first 500 miles I increased my rear shocks by two notches. One or two up my Super Meteor handles just fine. Now what do they say about great minds 🤣🤣🤣. Safe cruising sir 👍.
Thank you Les
Cheers Brian can we have your weather though please 🙏
@@thebingleywheeler l went out for a ride in the mountainous region inland from Alicante yesterday... temperature was approx 25-6c.... very windy at higher elevation. However I'm not riding on wet potholed roads.... l cant believe the state of some of UKs road network. The last time l rode a motorcycle in UK was in the mid nineties....
@brianperry it’s a dump here Brian as far as motorcycling is concerned. I wanted to retire to Spain but a certain vote destroyed our dreams
I think your tyre pressure as manual are way out!!! As far a as notch adjustment we were doing that a year ago. Check your manual for recommended PSI.!!!
just beautiful 😍
Front tyre pressure is way too low. 41 front 36 rear. 30 front is way too low. The grooves will close up and wont effectively displace water when its wet!
Bing, at the end, you show a British flag in black with a royal blue line through it! Could you please explain that to me? I would suspect that it means a respect for someone/something. Doug
Yes Doug it is the “thin blue line” flag in memory of my police colleagues killed in service
@@thebingleywheeler i know that that's what it means here in America, I wondered if it meant the same in the UK. Keep up with your UA-cam video content. I'm looking at getting my first motorcycle and I thought I was done choosing, then, you slyly slipped in the SR650 into the ring-good move!😁🤭 Doug🇺🇸🦅❤️🏍️
30 - 32 psi is fine on most ,, just as long as the tyre is inflated enough so as it does not flex side to side to affect the handling ,,, this is not gospel expert advice - but when i have taken bikes out with low pressure and the tyres flex it is scary ;; also when tall [ 6' 2'' ] it may be thought that we can reach any bar [ handle ] with ease and comfort ,,, but this is NOT the case as you have explained ,,, everyone is different and have preferences ,, i noticed that eddie came out at the end to do the checking on the bar fit --- not trusting you ;;
Eddie is always skeptical about the quality of my work 😁
Looking at the surface of those roads, a Himalayan would be a better choice.
It never missed a beat 👍🏻
Great commentary and nice run out, awful choice of bike neither nothing or something the Super Meteor, why?
Why not?
don't put e10 in anything unless you use it every day ,, fact - not my fault but fact
Hey hey 1st 😊
