Definitely a necessary video. It's not always good to push push push whilst it can lead to mental strength, it can, if taken to extremes be harmful to your health.
Wise words and relevant to me this week Max. I've done 40 mins so far but have what seems like norovirus currently. All the best to everyone on the BDP.
I got sick towards the end of Sept. Ended up taking about 10 days off. I was surprised that when I resumed doing Burpees, they felt good and I was able to exceed what I thought I'd be capable of after the layoff.
I've use my recent sick time to focus on physiotherapy style exercises to target my weaknesses (i.e. shoulder rotation) and to do less reps with better shape. It feels like I did not really wasted any time that way...
Hey Max, get well soon and thank you for this important message. As frustrating as cutting back on your training routine may be, I think it is way more important to listen to your body to get well again and be able to attack on full physical and mental capacity again. I also had a drop in numbers and got ill last week. Just recovered from that and found my way back into the practice yesterday. Missed 4 sessions so far. I allow myself to postpone sessions if it is really necessary. It just rarely is the case and when it happens I will try my best to make up for those sessions at a later time. In the coming weeks I will sneak in the missed 80 minutes, usually on rest days so I am taking it slower, going on a lower intensity as if I would have done them on point. This takes a lot of mental pressure from my in case I really have to reschedule sessions. I will hit my sessions and will get those minutes in - not today and maybe not tomorrow as well. But postponed does not mean canceled.
Hello my man. I have found it important not to give myself the option of recouping a session in a future weeks. On Monday, those 80 minutes are deposited into my account, and I have until Sunday at midnight to spend them. At that time, any remaining minutes disappear. If I could ever give myself the option of carrying minutes forward, there are countless sessions I would have missed. Hope you're well, my friend -- send me a whatsapp some time to check in!
Awesome video. Sick now so this is super relevant to me. Thank you!

This is good. I traveled last week, came back sick. I've been pushing my numbers, but ignoring the time.
Being a Dad and healthy comes first
