Literally nobody shows how to us the crimping part 👌
ive just uploaded a detailed video and included the crimping part as when i was looking i could find the grub screw or the crimping features in a video
Literally nobody shows how to use the crimping part
And what is the little rotary adjustment (+/-) knob for?
Yes - on my tool it seems to do nothing at all!
It adjusts the clamping force of the left hand cable grip. Depending on the cable diameter, if set too far negative, the cable will slip instead of being gripped firmly for stripping.
I wish mine did that, My pair won't strip the external thicker rubber. It only strips the thinner individual wires.
Great video i bought these the other day and tried practice using them but was doing it wrong, now i know how to use them correctly but can you tell me what the little screw is for on the back side of them please.
thin wire stop them slipping
Hi can you show how to use the crimper section?
Honestly it's not a good crimper but it does work.
Great video, thanks
Useful. Thx
What am I doing wrong? Mine just stretches the outer layer and doesn't cut it. I either have to pull it off by hand or take 4 - 5 goes, which surely isn't the point of this? It just doesn't seem to be able to pull it apart far enough.
Hmm, tried it on other cables and it was fine!
Made in china?
Same here. After the first few uses, it now acts like the cutting jaws aren’t reaching the wire.
I had issues with the yellow plastic stopper. Out of the box it's on the "on" position. Cheers the video , I hadn't a baldies
same with ones I just bought it wont strip any cable at all regardless of the setting with the small screw
Hi. Can you use it to strip a live wire ?
Probably but might be only once. I hope that was meant in jest. but you never know. ALWAYS ISOLATE SUPPLY AND DO YOUR CHECKS TO CONFIRM CIRCUIT IS NOT LIVE
No one shows the crimping because that aspect of the tool is shite! I have used it a few times and ending up using regular pliers instead as they do a better job
Just got mine. These will not work on 12 gauge wire for your house or at least mine won’t.
For 12 awg speaker cable, does not work??My cables are 13 awg (2X2.5mm).
How thick cable does it strip?
For copper or aluminum cables up to 10mm² (multiple cables) and up to 6mm² (single cables)
How much is this?
I bought mine for £19:99 of Amazon on 18th Oct
B& Q £23.99
