That "fine tuning thing" you showed in the beginning of the video is to adjust the tension on the grips, so you probably could strip that larger wire more easily if you turned it all the way.
Also have one of those and they're fantastic!

Thanks for this review, very much appreciated. They seem to handle the delicate stuff i would want to use them for. I have been using the scissor method or Stanley knife method for years, and at the grand old age of 38 i think it's about time i finally got around to buying some of these!

Look a good piece of kit those, I mainly work with 25mm cable though so maybe not quite up to that! Love the doggo, get him in more if he’ll sit there long enough 👍🏻

Yeah it might struggle a bit on 25mm lol. I will try to get him in more videos when its tool that's not too loud 👍

If you lay the inner cores flat in the jaws it will strip them all to the same length without needing the yellow stop.

Nice - you can do a few wires together too, like the red and blue :)

Cracking Muttley pal you have there Karl, lovely dawg... 💚
I’ve been using something very similar, different make, and would highly recommend the tool for consistent and hassle free stripping... 👍🏻 ✅

Cheers pal. He's a big daft softie lol🤣. Yeah I've been wanting some decent strippers for ages now. I skimped out on the last set and i should have known they would have been crap🤷‍♂️. These fatmax ones seem to be spot on so far though 👍

I have those exact strippers. You probably know well by now but the dial is for adjusting the pressure force of the clamp side of the tool that hold the wire.
Also, the 'stop' is very handy for getting repeatable length strips for crimps etc. I lash through trailer rewiring jobs with this tool and a ratcheting crimper. Gorgeous mutt too btw! 😍

Cheers for the info mate. Its a tool don't use that much so I never figured it out lol but now I know 👍. Yeah he is a lovely dog, bit mental but a good personality 🤣🐕

Cheers for the info on the dial. The packaging makes no mention of it.

Good to know about the adjuster, I've had to make 3 or 4 goes to strip outer and often at least 2 to strip inner.

misleading. I ended up takinig mine back because the LHS of the wire to be stripped did not stay put during the process and slid through the LH jaw despite operating the wire stripper precisely as demonstrated on this and other videos. After taking them back to the retail outlet they agreed and swopped over for another pair which did precisely the same thing. The customer service lady and myself eventually worked out it was only by putting your thumb on the left hand edge would they work as demonstrated. Once mastered it did what it said. It may be that the latest production left hand jaws do not hold the wire in position while stripping. Very misleading and the instruction that came with them explained very little with no explanation of the circular dial in the centre. of the jaws

@@TheYorkshireMix don’t get me wrong they are good for all other wires does make things easy and would recommend unfortunately my line of work old vehicle wires it just stretches them.
