Definitely good times. It was fun hanging with the cool kids for a little bit. Hehe. We probably wouldn't have hit the drop if you guys weren't there. Always helps to see someone do it first.
Today I made a decision to make my channel about making friends in MTB.
I currently have none here in Michigan and want to make a bunch.
It's so crucial especially with Social Distancing making it easy to isolate.
I am so anti social, and it fuels a life of loneliness and dissatisfaction...
Our brains actually change, we make bad connections... depression, paranoia aboit peoples motivation etc.
MTBing saved me, now with an effort on my part the community will heal me... I hope to ride with you guys this summer and capture on video as I make new friends.

Same thing happened to me on the drop of death this weekend past dirt sampler . I slipped off my pedals entirely however and ate some good dirt.
I hope you're alright. It gets easier every time you do it. A couple more goes and it'll start feeling smooth as butter. 👍
@@dukeofmtb Thanks! I wasn’t ready for the impact I guess. The drop isn’t even that large but the steep landing makes it somewhat tricky. Determined to hit it again next time :-). Boyne is such a fun place.
@@rocksandroots6044 I think it's landing in the dip that bucks people off. Try landing a little past it and your feet won't fly off. Have fun out there. 👍
Nice one! Only Cory can crash, come out looking like a salad, and laugh about it! It did make me think about UA-cam pressure though... I've been wondering about it since my crash, and with all the bigger channel guys getting hurt around the same time... I'm glad that didn't happen to you guys though. It gives me something to watch while I'm laid up.
I feel ya. When I saw how a lot of mtb UA-camrs got injured around the same time, I got a little scared. Luckily, our channel is just a goofball couple having fun, so there's no pressure to try and be "cool." 😅

This may have pushed me over the edge to finally hit these trails! I live in Boyne City, so it is a pretty easy drive for me! Have you guys been to Avalanche preserve in Boyne City yet? There are a variety of options, definitely not as technical as you have seen but there is a new run or two that you might like. One is called Stroll The Steeps! Just an fyi.

Yup, just glad she was okay. So many people have crashed off that drop, myself included. 😅 I think it's been on 'Pinkbike Friday Fails' a few times.

These are the trails I wish SE MI had....I hate climbing constantly.
Same here. We ride for fun. Fitness is a nice side effect and all, but we just wanna send it. 😁
@@dukeofmtb I recommend the dump in Marshall. The climbs are really steep buy short lived. A lot of hills to hold your speed as well. Some challenging tech as well.

Are you still rocking the chin mount on the proframe? I've tested out the chesty and it isn't terrible but I've been looking at getting the proframe and trying that out. You still liking it?
Yup. I still prefer the chin mount over the chest mount. Having the camera looking ahead in turns and at a relevant direction and angle at all times is a big plus. I might chest mount a 360 cam though. I can always change the angle in post.

What's the best bike park within decent close range of Ann Arbor Michigan?
The best option for us is Blue Mountain in Ontario. Then there's Boyne Highlands. Blue is closed this year, so Boyne it is. 😁👍

@@nostr8ghtlinzs596 That's funny. That's exactly what we say about you guys. There's hardly anything other than XC here in the mitten. We have to drive at least 4 hours to get to descents longer than 30 seconds. 😅
@@dukeofmtb most of ontario is XC. We hit horse shoe last summer and she loved it. A little scared at first. But she got over it quick. Horseshoe is 300 foot (yes feet not meter) drop. 3 stage is near blue and on same escarpment. But you need to peddle up. We have never been to blue and were hoping to ride this year.
If we drive 4+ hours there is camp fortune. About half the runs do have lift access. Never been. Then MSS near Montreal. Planing on that this summer. And bromount. Hope to get a weekend between the two. Hoping ....

The Duke of MTB the landing just drops off on such an incline...I came in with too much speed and tried to scrub some off with my legs(mistake) and just got bucked. Thanks tho I’m good now! This was about 6 weeks ago

How much travel do your bikes have?
Mine is 150 front and rear. Cory's is 150 front, 140 rear.
I've been really contemplating on buying an mtb bit having trouble deciding on travel and tire size. I live near port Huron and dont want to be over biked for Michigan. I was thinking about the yt izzo 130/130 29er
Sounds like a great choice. We went with a little bit more travel because we like to occasionally go out of town or ride at bike parks. So we had to find a decent medium. Long legged trail bikes hit the spot.
That's my hesitation. I feel like I would like to do the same as well. I'd like to have a do it all bike just like you two.
