As a South African, semi growing up with Trevor as one of the biggest comedy guys, he had some really good stand-up routines. 2009 to 2013 were peak for him, then he went to America and used his racism to get the Daily Show gig. He's been bad since. Go back to what works buddy

Just like one of the comments on here, I'm South african too. Used to be a huge fan of this guy back when he was a local comedian. I too believe that he peaked around 2013. Crazy Normal is still my favourite to this day. Once he came to this show, his jokes didn't land the same. That and also most of them were laced with multiple teaspoons of (*critical drinker voice*) "THE MESSAGE". It just wasn't fun anymore.

He always had messages in his comedy. Put Daniel Day Lewis in a sitcom and we’ll see how quickly he goes downhill. There’s no way he could come up with 20 killer jokes every single day. That’s not how comics work. Plus he was forced to double as a news anchor/commentator when mainstream media was actually getting too biased.
Naw he just had to dance to the tune of his bosses the people who was paying him. His actual comedy is still something I'd watch and find hilarious. He is a brilliant story teller. But hey this gave him a huge platform and the money. So he will be OK. I just don't think this format was a great fit.

People in this thread have obviously never seen Trevor Noah's early standup. It's actually pretty good, which was surprising to me because I had prior to that only seen him on the daily show, and never thought his jokes landed.

I'm South African, like Trevor Noah. No cap, he was funny in his earlier stand up comedy specials (like 2010ish) he made jokes about everyone no matter your race. Everyone loved him. But since he went to America and worked on the daily show, he's comedy changed and really alienated a lot of people with his political commentary. Plus Donald trump did a lot for his show because Trevor Noah would really have nothing else to comment on if not for him.

I fell asleep once watching The Office. Woke up and the Daily Show was on. That's the only 60 seconds of that show I ever watched, and it was plenty.

Seeing this so soon after FreedomToons' fantastic episode of The Debunkers taking him apart is both cathartic and oddly serendipitous.

As a South African, I am always happy when we have representatives that make our country stand out.
Trevor, however, made so many racist jokes and forced his ideology down people's throats. I stopped watching his stand up probably at the 3rd or 4th show, but completely lost respect for him when he thought it was okay to disrespect and even mock Christianity during the early stages of the Covid pandemic.
Its crazy that he thinks he knows more about America than the the people that were born and raised here our whole lives
It was his handlers that forced him to push the whole political narrative of the United States... but he kind of spoke his heart out in his white house correspondence speech.. He's a little to real and honest for a large amount of the peanut brained individuals in the US.

I can't say agree here, I saw Trevor in a stand up before he started in the show, and he was by far the most hilarious comedian from the bunch, and his specials are great. I imagine I liked him because I shared his criticism to the US, something I, myself saw in the flesh. Buy for sure I stopped watching the show a while back.

I'm South African, I don't feel like his current content is funny but back when he was doing stand up he was hilarious. The Daywalker, Crazy Normal, Pay Back the Funny and Theres a Gupta on my stoep were my favorite. I get it from the perspective of the Americans who have only ever seen the Daily Show but you really need to watch some of his old stuff to get a sense of perspective
Trevor Noah was the most positive person I had never had the chance to witness on a tv show, i may have not agreed with everything he had to say, but you can't say the guy was not genuine and a positive influence.

Brett seems like she’s got talent and potential - I’ll watch a little more to see if it’s just fact based when Matt Walsh is on or mentioned? I just think Fox News provides MORE than enough hateful opinion. Rage inducing fact for common core values is needed.
